I desperately wanted this figure when I spotted him on a trip to Walmart, but My parents didn’t have enough money to grab it. It became an obsession for a few days. Was all I could think about. I got out of school and came out to the car, and he was sitting in my seat. Mom had managed to scrape up enough to get him for me. Still my second favorite action figure of all time, next to the “REBUILD!” Vader. I absolutely adored playing with them as a kid. Especially the rebuild Vader. I’d take him apart and put him together over and over. I liked to shove a lightsaber hilt into the arm you can pop off so he’d have a lightsaber hand. 😂
Tt games wasn't gory enough to make anakin burn in lego star wars the videogame but lego released a set where anakin is burned up and is being transformed into darth vader.
Just what do you think you’re doing, Dave? Dave, I really think I’m entitled to an answer to that question. I know everything hasn’t been quite right with me, but I can assure you now, very confidently, that it’s going to be alright again.- HAL 9000 Are you sure you want to use the technology you have lol 😂
You know, I thought that figure of Grievous in the middle of his death scene they put out was a bit dark for a kids toyline. ...then I remembered this existed.
Kid-me found this in a tent outside of a Wal-Mart or something back when ROTS had just come out. The tent was dedicated to nothing but ROTS figures, it was incredible. For whatever reason I chose this set among two other figures, and I never really thought about how strange it was. A figure set like this would never happen nowadays, and that makes me love it even more 🤣
''Did kids really want to play with this?'' As someone who had this figure, I loved it, but it didn't really have a lot of poseability and was more of a novelty item, but a cool one. It just made me wish I had grabbed a normal Anakin, but I did have a ROTS Vader figure, which I still have. Those were great times for SW toys!
They also sold "Battle Damaged Darth Vader" in 2008 (after 30th Anniversary coins) in some Unleashed series. It is burned holes in helmet revealing scarred head and Frankenstein legs. It goes well with this deluxe figure.
I had the Darth Vader transformation chamber. I loved that thing to death. Lego recently made a set based of the same scene; even comes with crippled anakin.
I got this battle damaged anakin like a year ago at the flea market for like 5$ and I didn’t even know it was rare. Still have it sealed to. Ya though I even wanted the old lego Vader transformation set when I was younger and this video really made it feel so much more gruesome than I thought when I was younger lol
I wanted that Anakin figure so bad back in the day. I think I was 9 when I got it for my birthday, and I loved it. Seeing the scene where Anakin is crispy on the table in the ROTS trailed did kinda freak me out tho.
I.use to have this. I saw this Anakin figure once and only 2 so me and my son got him when we we're on vacation in FL. I'm from MA. Never seen it again. Awesome figure. Might have to try ebay and get another one. For nostalgia sake. It was the summer of Sith as we called it 2005.
I saw this figure in goodwill in 2015 for 4 dollars and the senate guard for 4 dollars too and I wanted the Crispy Anakin but my mom said it was too creepy for me so she told me to get the senate guard witch I did…. Bad mistake…
Had both these as a kid and loved them. The table got a lot of play time used as a Imperial interrogation table and the Vader was a fun thing to take apart and build. The crispy Anakin was kinda weird to have as a kid but I never used the cloak and regular parts he was always lava boy. Great video keep up the good work.
I’m laughing so hard because the Anakin screaming in pain impression is spot on and he even makes the pressure lock sound when he puts on the helmet! 🤣 I had that second toy when I was kid but lost a lot of the parts over time.
This is easily one of my favourite figures out of the whole line. 2005 Hasbro was something else 😂 Absolutely brilliant figure, although would love A re-visit to it hopefully!
I had this toy and got tired of looking at it way back then. I practically gave it away for nothing! Who knew 16 years later our society would get so wanky about making such grusomely wonderful toys go figure?!
Believe it or not I actually had some real fun with this fig as a kid. I used to pretend that the crispy anakin had summoned enough strength to endure and defeated obi wan. And I used the transformation tray for obi wan and pretended that he became the white darth Vader. Fanfic level writing I know but I was 7
When I saw that figure, I HAD to get it! As soon as I saw it, I assumed parents would have been up in arms and gotten it pulled, so I wanted to make sure I got it.
This might seem silly but- growing up, my dad collected all these figures and kept them pristine so they’d be valuable later. I wanted to play with them SO BAD but was never allowed to go near them. I dreamed of how it would look to play with these. 15+ years later and I searched for an unboxing video to heal my inner child. Found this humorous detailed video and it really made me smile. Hoping to find these sets at a flea market or something one day - thanks for making this video it really made my night :,)
That's awesome!! There's tons of toy stores that have been popping up across the country (assuming you're in the US) lately, and plenty of them stock older Star Wars toys like this! Might be worth a look, or if you need help let me know what general city you're in and I can see if I can find a store near you that might have something!
They also rereleased the table a third time, with a slightly different Vader, he didn't have removable legs or a hand, but it did come with two surgery droids.
I managed to get both of these. Managed to find a battle damaged Anakin about 6 years ago but it was sealed and the packaging was in absolute mint condition inside one of those protector cases and I couldn’t bring myself to open it so that went on my carded shelf. I checked on EBay every now and again for a loose one and finally picked one up last week for £12. The rebuild Darth Vader I managed to pick up at Star Wars Celebration last year
I have this one and I never opened it. I thought Hasbro did very good work on these Revenge of the Sith figures, then vintage collection came along and totally improved on the quality.
I bought the battle damages Anakin at the time. I still have him complete I never really played with him, I was always a little unsure how to play with him.
Didn't the Darth Tyranus/Dooku figure from RotS also have removable wrists to simulate the Anakin Duel outcome? The RotS toyline was a hell of a line (dem Clones). I need this table set just so Cobra has a table for experiments. I also dig the Han Solo Bespin Torture device release for that "HNNGH-HUGH ANH AAH AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" action.
I bought that Darth Vader set at TRU when it came out as part of the legacy collection I think. I hated that hard plastic cape so I ended up giving mine a cloth cape so he could have it when he’s on the table
Ypu were holding on finding one under twenty bucks.......smdh..... I mean, Why? Im....um....pretty sure you could spend twenty bucks on one and that's not gonna financially wreck you. Based off the delivery of dialogue in the video, I was anticipating a value of around 125.00 minimum. Then you hit me with the "get one for less then 20 bucks" line there toward the end.... Ot&erwise your show kicks ass. Keep up the good work. Awesome channel!
I dunno, it's fun to hunt for something for a price that just "feels right", cuz when I finally found one for 15 I was STOKED. Just makes the hobby of toy collecting a little more fun when you find it for that "magic deal". lol Thanks for watching!
