In the UK, you aren’t allowed to give an ex-employee a negative reference when they apply for another job. So what we do is we give a very basic “yes he/she worked here” and everyone knows what that means. People will always find ways to make their opinion known.

My first thought hearing about this game was: "Okay, they want one of these games for potential profit, but are too lazy to come up with original characters and somebody thought the existing IP could be leveraged into people accepting this." My second was "Do they even realize how tough getting the balance to where people will accept it is even without also having to keep people happy with the power of their favorite characters? Even non-players will have serious opinions." My third was "From the looks of this trailer, they're pouring a lot of money into graphics and voice acting long before taking the step of proving the game will be fun." Then I stopped thinking about the game.

I was just wondering what the f**k Rivals is, because I've heard of it before... Oh, Marvel, yeah, I've already laughed about it. I've never seen a good Marvel movie that wasn't infantile and boring, and believe me I tried. So thank you, I really don't need a game from them. I'm amazed that I'm even still mad about this endless barrage of mobile s**tty games designed for kids...I just don't get it that those kids are buying it. Like even when I was young, I was always looking for more authentic experience, and so did my friends. Literally nobody was interested in Tom & Jerry games or whatever. Similar shit games were coming out 20-30 years ago, just nobody supported them, which is why we eventually got Half-Life, the Gothic trilogy, Morrowind, Age of Empires, or the entire Might & Magic universe towards the turn of the millennium. First: Completely agree with this take. Second: I read that and took it as "You're not allowed to trash talk the game using non-constructive criticism." Meaning you cannot say "Oh this game is hot garbage and should never be played" but instead saying "Due to this reason, this reason and this reason, this game isn't quite fleshed out and ready to be played yet." It's all about the delivery. If you're going to have an opinion about the game, but not have it based on any facts. Hence like in part B when it says "subjective".

The best part: These contract provisions will not hold up in court. NDA's can be somewhat difficult to enforce, but whole cloth "you can't give your honest opinion" wont fly; not for a product being given to people whose profession is to share their opinion on products. They might ban you from the game and not help you get access to the game early in the future... but they aren't going to do a thing legally and just hope this scares enough people into not speaking the truth.

Most closed tests dont let you record or talk about it anyway and its not like they are locking it behind being a journalist because all you do is send in your email anyone could of done this and this is how most closed tests are

i don't know this, it's only a possibility -- but it's quite possible that a dev didn't know what to do about the access for the beta keys agree button click text and was just told by some do nothing manager that wasn't thinking "oh just copy the initial magazine reviewer key legal boilerplate i'm sure that's fine" -- which shows that magazines likely have to deal with for access journalism.

If a company has someone revealing their product and has a clause that prevents them from being honest about the product and the quality preventing freedom of speech and freedom of the press well the contract end up backfire on the company and can be used in a case to sue. Any legally binding contract becomes an olden void if the contract has a cause that violates humans right or prevents freedom of speech

When I played Marvel Rivals, I was immensely surprised by the degree of quality the game had. The game met my expectations almost exactly, and it is definitely not on the same level of craftsmanship as a typical video game - there were numerous times during the experience where I had to pause and take a step back from my seat to truly take in what I was going through. I feel the need to address the developers / publishers of this game as well, since the average amount of work they must have put in clearly shows in the final product. To express exactly how much I enjoyed playing Marvel Rivals, it is my sincere hope that the people responsible for the decisions made in this game's conception have a day / week that is just as pleasant as they are. I will be telling my friends, family, and everyone else I know about this game and the experience I had with it in the hopes that they reciprocate the same strong emotions towards it that I do.
