Big up to Jamaica and all the Caribbean countries that took part in the olympics and congrats on ur success (despite the many ppl who try to downplay ur successs) . It takes a lot of work to make it to and participate in the olympics especially since our countries are small and we do not have the same type of facilities that these 'first world countries have' (which makes the victory even greater).

@broadjumper1 I am of Jamaican heritage and I am sorry you feel that way. I am proud of my heritage and what these athletes have achieved. I also respect athletes of every nation and always hope for fair play and good spirit. I admire your countries athletes, but everyone deserves the chance to enjoy the rewards of their hard work. Clearly you are the one that's bothered by the achievements (little though they may be) of the Jamaicans. If you were not,you would not spend your time on the Jamaican page commenting incessantly and ranting. Size to size, there is no comparing Jamaica to the US. However, as Jamaicans, they are proud and exhilarated by their achievements and they are free to express it however they feel. Go on a US link and comment and praise your own athletes and stop wasting your time here.
@broadjumper1 Umm ok there first of all I was talking about track and field cuz that's jamaica's strength. Second of all if you knew the athletes Jamaica has in london you would realize that Jamaica only has one athlete in swimming another and horse racing and the REST are in track and field and that started TODAY . And for your info I am rooting for the USA too I respect their perfection but I was just cheering on my home country, didn't realize that was a crime.

I don't begrudge Jamaica for having the best sprinters on the planet (well, 100 and 200m least), but damn, some of the shit talking coming from the Jamaican fans would make you think they were taking ALL the medals across the board. Enjoy your success in sprints Jamaica but keep the USA outta your mouth when making comparisons cuz there ain't none.

Especially since the US is having it's BEST Olympic track & field results since '96 with 24 medals and the opportunity to win as many as SIX more golds and perhaps as many as 11 more total...Yes, it matters since so many Jamaicans talk shit about who dominates when they've been able to medal in just ONE discipline. I applaud their success, if not ALL their athletes, but it's important they know WHO DOMINATES. If that bothers you, it matters not.

No, Jamaica is not the US's competition in Track & Field. Sprints? I'll give you that. But Jamaica doesn't have athletes across several disciplines, as few countries do. Russia, Great Britain, France and Germany are closer to our competition level than Jamaica.

I don't begrudge them anything, but anyone with a shred of honesty can see Jamaica has 2 dominate male sprinters and that's about it, yet they keep yapping like they you said...And their women's team produced just 3 medals this go round and only ONE gold..And unless the US botches the relay hand-offs, the gold is theirs for the taking, hey just ran the second fastest 4x100 in Olympic history with the B team. The US is continuing to rise up, this team could produce our best medal count since '84
