They're making a Halo CE remake? 

I'd love a remaster with a way more consistent art style. The "remake. we got was pretty, but got the tone completely wrong. I always wince when I see people play Halo CE for the first time with anniversary graphics.

my only hope is that it's CE anniversary 2 ( electric boogaloo ) and that they aren't restarting the franchise

If 343 gets the studio who did the cutscenes for Halo 2 anniversary to work on the cutscenes for this remake then I think it'll be off to a great start. I hope they'll add more missions into the game. Perhaps they could reference the ODST arcade game that is supposed to take place during the events of Halo Combat Evolved?

I just fear the implementation of the Silver Timeline instead of a true telling in the way of CE and the books. If they implemented the book content and CE with updated all in mechanics (like Infinite) and CE everything then great

It would make sense for a remake of some kind to be the first game on the UE5 engine because the teams don't need to focus as much on the story and other elements and just make sure the game feels like Halo and it can make for a faster turn around. Also, for anyone who may be confused, a remake will keep the story pretty much as is and would try to improve/expand on it. A reboot is basically anything that can be changed will be. They are blowing it up and restating everything.

You summed it up perfectly, a full remake in Unreal 5 with an expanded story would be perfect.

Personally I think itll be a remake, new multiplayer, new art style, and I hope new lore bits, like retcon the fact there wasnt brutes and engineers, give us sprint, give us all the good stuff and remake the game, that way a new audience can play halo, and not have to deal with the slow gameplay that is CE

I'd prefer a full remake. A remaster would be completely pointless.

-They should keep the old voice lines just clean them up and make it sound better..... I really don't want them to do retakes/rewrites of the story just change out some marines in spots for ODST's maybe add some side missions or even a FOR mission for a extra smaller campaign with bits from the book and blue team as we see them in it, with those armours also available as co-op partner suits. -Could vary the sandbox out to two magnums and AR's that basically act the same but have a "marine" AR you pick up in the mission that acts like the magnum we've been getting for ages and have a CE magnum (which is a specific spartan model) we start missions with and get rewarded for conserving the ammo of, same with the AR. -Honestly also a game to use armour cores in, reuse infinites MKV[B] and MKIV, throw in some COBALT armours and armours from the FOR graphic novel but do the AC system to its full potential and without the cash shop...

They already remastered the game though? Now if they combine 1-3 into one giant game...that would be wild 🥹 And throw in more RvB easter eggs too!

As long as they add the Spectre I'll be happy.

I just want a proper 1:1 remaster that keeps everything the EXACT same colors with no art changes and just enhanced fidelity. Halo CE has an incredible art style and I jist wanna see it enhanced.

You know I think that the point of this is the fact that Microsoft's probably going to load the next to Halo game on PlayStation with microtransactions with multiplayer and let's just be honest 343 and Microsoft these days load Halo multiplayer with microtransactions so PlayStation players better not be surprised. And they're probably going to have to require that they make a Microsoft account in order to play the Halo games on PlayStation.

It’s a soft reboot Linda is going to be the main protagonist in the remake, halo 2/3 are not going be canon for 343 trilogy

This is just my opinion, but who even asked for this? HCE is like the Mona lisa of video games you can't recreate a classic. Sometimes, just because you can do something doesn't mean you should, and Halo CE anniversary is there as evidence of that. This rumor might just be for clicks and nothing more but if true it would be just another example of 343i not knowing what the few real Halo fans left really want and a total waste of resources that shows how desperate they are to capture a market that doesn't want or care about the franchise. Sure it might be beneficial for the few Halo content creators out there who only care about the bottom line of churning out sloppy content but how does it benefit loyal xbox gamers who've stuck by this whole time and now are being told you should buy new and competing hardware to experience the privilege of being disappointed on a whole different system? It would be wild to have another Halo CE remake/remaster before a Halo 3 anniversary or Halo 5 PC port. And on the Unreal engine topic why does everyone swear by it's assumed superiority? If you outsource all the work to contractors and time crunch with unrealistic deadlines, it doesn't matter how well versed on that engine you are the game will still flop and you can take that to the bank any day.
