Exactly. It would have been great to give Ronaldo a microphone 60-90 minutes and let him tell his side of the STORY/TRUTH without any influence in Piers Morgan’s questions.
@@waldo3339 Rooney is a loser who never won the World Cup never won the euros hardly one anything outside of domestic trophies. That euro title that Ronaldo has certainly looking great right now.
@@waldo3339 Issues? Or maybe he just refuses to be blinded by bias and fear of making Ronaldo and his blind fanboys mad. So he instead speaks his mind and says his true feelings about Ronaldos actions. Rooney has praised him many times when it was deserved but he's also critcised him at times when it was deserved. It's a part of being unbiased and unashamedly realistic about a situation.
Ronaldo didn’t even criticize Rooney here, piers pretty much asked the question and also piers pretty much answered his own question; Ronaldo just laughed it off. That comment/statement was too hyped up for nothing by the media
Piers Morgan is such an ANTAGONIST. He’s literally guiding his answers. He asks him a question and then partly answers it for him. Just ask him a question and give him a moment to answer in HS OWN WORDS. Piers Morgan is putting some words in his mouth. Like the parts about Rooney retiring and Ronaldo still playing, Piers MORGAN literally suggested that and Ronaldo added to his point. It’s piers Morgan’s answer. He’s loving it.
I wish in situations like these, Ronaldo or whoever is in his position is just given a microphone and left to waffle on and tell their side of the story without any questions.
If my memory is correct. When Brentford battered United 4-0 Ronaldo was shrugging his shoulders and walked away while others went to apologies fo the fans, when he has played (yes Europa league but still) he has scored not enough and missed chances which in his peak he would be burying. And was given the captains armband in the Europa match. And before the season.. heck before ETH arrived he wanted to leave and NO ONE but sporting wanted him but can't afford him. Atletico fans made it clear he wasn't welcomed, Chelsea rejected, Bayern rejected and Real Madrid has moved on, Serie A clubs wasn't interested, PSG wasn't interested.. a man who has been labeled as a proper professional eh? The media made his ego so huge (though deserved at his peak) but I don't know how anyone can justify this behaviour while contracted to the club. I'm a West Ham United fan so I don't know the ins and outs but it looks shocking. Just speaking as a neutral.
if u watch Rooney's response, hes actually gave honest opinion in a good manner. But ppl like Morgan make it like Rooney is the villain and Ronaldo the good guy need to be protected from evil.
@@lifequotescheckout.5564 if im dead i cant make a comment. Rooney done nothing wrong, and u are just butthurt fanboy, crying for his idol gettin called out.
@@lifequotescheckout.5564 Rooney has nothing to be jealous of, had and excellent career, and if u look back Rooney always said he doubts his body will let him play as long Scholes and Giggs and he said that in like 2009. Rooney criticized Ronaldo for the right reasons, Ronaldo has been terrible at United, probably made their team worse, dont even mention the meaningless goals the year before. The man is past it, only plays for himself and his goals, only thing he wants is to be statistically ahead of messi, cuz in terms of overall ability Messi is miles clear. Ronaldo has acted like a little crybaby, which for him is normal as he always been likes this.
Why the heck is he above criticism? All neville and Rooney did was speak about his football ability currently and that he is not at the same level as he was...so he snubs them...was quite happy to get Rooney sent off in the world Cup....such hypocrisy
CR7 is a narcissist, he simply can't handle honest criticism of any kind. It wouldn't surprise me if he had a black book with a list of people on it !!
When has Rooney 'attacked' him? He was literally asked about Ronaldo's behaviour and politely said it was unprofessional. On the other hand you have Ronaldo taking the mick about what Rooney looks like and Piers Morgan laughing at him. Ronaldo has a short memory; remember when Piers Morgan was taking the mick out of his appearance many years ago.
Morgan's sensationalist waffle for you. Completely agree that Rooney was quite respectful about it and even said Ronaldo could still be an asset in this team which is supporting him in some way but Piers chooses to ignore those facts
Ronaldo cannot be criticized, Ronaldo is always right. It's life, criticism is part of life especially for individuals as big as you are. Can anyone please tell me anything wrong Wayne Rooney or Gary Neville said about him ? His been called out on his bullshit attitude and character and his upset over it..
this is what you dont understand, you braindead, cr7 think rooney and gary is his friend and why a friend hate him so much, if you have a friend would you like a friend like that? you need a friend that courage you
For context, cristiano appeared in wayne docu while he was playing in real madrid and spoke highly of him towards the end of rooneys career. Since cristiano started playing until now, i never once heard he spoke badly about other players. I don’t have many friends, but i’m sure glad i have complete trusts in my small circles of friends. The real one is evra and rio. Both are loyal. Gary and others put ronaldo under the bus just to appeared on the headline. For context too, since carragher created his twitter, his tweet mentioning ronaldo yesterday got the most liked. Why? Because ‘there is a RONALDO in that tweet. Ronaldo name sells, hence the reason why all these bimbos using his name to appeared relevant. Time will tell. Let’s see where united will be in the next 2 years.
He doesn’t have problems with criticism, just about the daily criticism from his so called friends….How would you feel if your friends wake up everyday to criticise you unnecessarily? They are friends, they could talk to him behind closed doors or off social media but they chose to attack him just to gain cheap relevance online…
blasted, he is just in a simple talk, no sware words, and you , you like to have bad sayings about you, do you give the other face...come on he is human
All I see, is Ronaldo on a counter attack and not been able to get any separation from defenders or not having the ability to play with his back to goal as a 9. As Fergie would say, his engine is gone. No soap opera drama, just football talk, his 38 this season and is not as fast anymore. Giggs at the same age, came off the left into midfield and wouldn’t start games, no complaints.
How about that through ball he played into Garnacho a couple games ago. How many number 9s can do that. For the 20th time, people have said Ronaldo is done, and physically he isn't done. You'll be right one day though but not without being wrong 20 times.
The fact the Gary Neville said on the overlap show a week ago that Ronaldo speaking to the public is the best thing he can do right now makes me wonder if Neville had inside information that this interview was going to happen
I think he genuinely loves the club, or thinks he does. However he's unable to come to terms with his advanced age and realises that he cannot wait for the time it'll United to get back on top so he's forcing his way out. On the other hand I do believe ETH is leading the club around a new corner with the culture, philosophy etc. Unfortunately for Ronaldo this doesn't include him as he is not fitting in this paradigm and ETH is more focused on the entire team rather than an individual. So I get where he's coming from but know that United turned the corner as soon as EtH walked in and those who don't wanna follow get left behind even if it's the GOAT
@@S7Vmv If you watched the games you clearly see a lack of dynamism and from his part both in attack and pressing. It's romantic to think about the 18 goals, but people always fail to see the context. The majority were scored under Ole, how many does he have in calender year 2022 ? With these new coach's style of play he just doesn't fit, so I'm sorry if I'd rather see United do well and play sth other than counter attacks.

Ronaldo is the type of player who'd prefer his team losing 3-4, with him getting a hattrick, rather than the team winning 4-3, with him not on the scoresheet.
@@geraldseydoux3496 it is weird indeed, it’s not just that he doesn’t celebrate but there’s times he’s also got angry when his teammates have scored and he hasn’t
Wayne criticism is spot on in his behavior about leaving the pitch without the coach's permission refuse to come on as a substitute, it's nothing personal. However Ronaldo starts attacking on his looks? Seriously? What are you? 5?
Will still be a legend for what he did in his 1st stint. But no united fan would want to remember his second stint apart from calling out Glazers, board etc.
Great moment to be an Arsenal fan. We never witnessed this when our hero (Theirry Henry) came back in 2012... It was beautiful, emotional, a statue was unveiled, He helped us win matches.. we cried even more when he left. Ahhhhhhh Arsenal... the team of my dreams 😍
Some of what he has said is wrong, but other parts he's bang on. I'm sick of Ex-United players slamming the club in the media anytime they don't win a game.
Piers did a good job at manipulating Ronaldo into saying everything controversial. I can't understand why Ronaldo snubbed Neville. The whole time Neville stood by him and defended him.
So when people state their opinion on what they see, thats 'attacking' him?? When they say he leaves the stadium early, refusing to come on and generally being an ar$e around the place, thats attacking him? Or just telling the truth??
That's the thing. He expects those people he has history with to be blindly supportive of anything he does. He wants blind 'yes men' as that's what he has surrounding him in his private life. He can't handle people criticising him for his actions even if it's clearly justified criticism.
Lol I like the fact that you assume who he is... Could it be that since he has a relationship with those guys whether friendship or former teammates he expects them to. Contact him privately and address their feelings to privately instead of following a narrative by the media... Roy Keane and Rio Ferdinand talk about Cr7 all the time but they never critique publicly... Rooney has a relationship with Ronaldo especially as their kids used to play together..
@@roccomgij6853 i don't have to assume, for example, arriving late, leaving half time, leaving bench before end of game, refusing to come on, slapping a phone out of a kid's hand - this is just what we know about by the way! @@Skipjj but he does. When you put yourself out there on facetwitgram, like he does, you take the plaudits when you do well but you then have to take the criticism when you fcuk up, which he has this season, several times. Unless piers has parts of the interview that make CR7 look like an angel, he will be slated and remembered for this until he retires.
That’s a man talking for himself, and I respect that! “They’re not my friends” I believe you. We only see what the media shows us and they’re not good at showing the whole thing. Has Ronaldo acted unprofessionally sometimes? Absolutely! If you play sports you know the mentality is to always be on the field playing. Especially an effective player like Ronaldo, but these guys are taking advantage of the moment to come at him. He’s not afraid of confrontation and that’s a MAN!
What throw a paddy and storm off when stuff doesn't go Your way. If you went to work and your boss gave you instructions and instead you walked out.....twice. Then you decided to slag them off to everyone what would happen, you'd get the sack. Don't big him up for being a baby. Wayne Rooney looks like a man to call out to people he respects in Ronaldo and Keane.
These so called Man United legends are judgmental. They did the same thing to Pogba, they doing it to Anthony, Sancho etc… I’m glad Ronaldo is not accepting this bullshit 😂
yea i actually agree that everybody seem to be piling on CR, dude was the top scorer last season for MU and was second or third in PL, it's retarded to think he's done ppftttt.
Wayne Rooney just spoke the truth and spoke about Roy Keane’s defence of Ronaldo’s total disrespect for the team .. Ronaldo has too many yes people around him and he’s not in touch with reality …. Can’t wait to see the back of him and his drama ..
Wait if ronaldo come out and say that he will paid back the wages given to him in the full interview? What will u say then? For context, the last time ronaldo was in united, united won a ucl and ronaldo won bdor. He was the last epl player to do so. Your club celebrated winning europa while he won 5 ucl. Sit the f down small club.
He brings in revenues contrary to you and the bunch of nobodies in united squad. The wages are hardly about playing these days, but how marketable you are
He understands perfectly, it's obvious they spoke about the way the questions would be asked and if CR7 didn't have a clue he must be a bit thick to repsond the way he does if he doesn't mean it!!

piers wants to stay close to ronaldo and is clearly feeding into his ego. A friend would want the best for you and ask deeper questions than he has and tell you when you’re wrong. you know what, Piers knows what he’s doing. the views will work out great for both of them
People forget this guy is human, he wants support from his former teammates not criticism, they know better than anyone how difficult it is to play for this Manchester United, yet they still decide not to support him, I totally understand this and I have to agree with cristiano on this.
What Neville and Rooney said was not attacking Ronaldo in the media, it wasn't even harsh criticism. You know what would be attacking him? Calling him a "Spoiled Brat" in your newspaper column. Oh wait! Piers Morgan already did that to Ronaldo!
He is spot on what he says about Rooney. I recall a time when the debate was Rooney, Ronaldo or Messi. Now? The fact that this was ever a question is insulting to Messi and Ronaldo
Everyone has to take some form of critism mate. Love ronaldo and think he is still a club legend and the best united player I got to see live. However this line smacks of a diva which I didn't think ronaldo was capable of. Rooney was not even that bad with his comments. Sorry ronaldo can't agree with him there Still One of the goats. But gave himself a bad light there.
“One of your biggest critics have been Wayne Rooney, and were good friends with him, 3 or 4 times he’s come out and attacked you in the media” “ is it jealousy perhaps? That you’re still playing?” Rooney was asked questions and he answered them honestly. He didn’t come out abruptly and “ attack” Ronaldo. So does Gary Neville. All they did was say that Ronaldo shouldn’t come back to United. It won’t be a fit for both. Which is now proven. As journalists, you shouldn’t have an agenda when asking questions. I think Ronaldo answered them maturely, and he made a joke about him looking better than Rooney, which almost 99% of the world agrees as he is fit as hell and Rooney has put on some weight. It’s the way pierce formulate these questions, then answers them himself, and then create a whole negative narrative about the interview.
I'm more shocked at the Man utd fans supporting and defending Ronaldo on this. How easily they turn on one of their legends, Rooney gave them everything, arguably the best player in their history but they allow Ronaldo and his stans to quickly change their mind and perspective about him despite all he's done for the club. Ronaldo is acting like he's the first player to be "criticized" by a former teammate, even if it was criticism that doesn't mean they don't care about you or they've forgotten the friendship they had
This is exactly why Benzema says he can never be a pundit. You share dresssing room and huge amount of success with each other and then go on TV and tell him off. It’s his personal opinion that he doesn’t like such things and don’t see a problem with it. Why do people expect footballers to be the most ideal human beings ever
Ronaldo what are you doing?! Can’t you deal with a bit of adversity? First time things aren’t going as you want in your career and this is what you resort to?
I've never really disliked ronaldo...but I've never liked him.. This interview let's me know I was correct in my assessment of what I thought about him
I think the problem is here, Ronaldo sees himself above the clubs he played after Real Madrid. He should know every player is part of the team not above the team.
