My goodness gracious can they stop doing this? Please? Have we not seen what these things inevitably become? No? No? Okay, guess we have to have another go round then. Princess and the Frog and Tangled live action? What could go wrong?
As much as I would love to see that happen, i think from a business perspective, they want to go with the films that had the most success because they know they’ll get more money that way. And Atlantis and Black Cauldron and Treasure Planet weren’t very successful.
@@meghanbarry3489 But the reason „Treasure Planet“ wasn’t successful is because Disney intentionally didn’t markeded it. They wanted the movie to bomb at the box office, so they can get rid of their handdrawn-Animation. Both „Treasure Planet“ & „Atlantis“ have a huge fanbase.
@@lenastorm6280 Originally Atlantis was going to be TWO AND HALF HOURS long, so the writers had to cut it down to one. The problem is the film has many characters, so one hour is not enough to develop the characters or flesh-out the story.
I'm so glad Tangled won't get one for a while because of the whole hair problem. It would take years to make it look good, heck they had to make a whole new thing to even create her hair in the movie. I just don't want them to touch my perfection of Tangled please.
Some outlets report it's getting a remake, confusingly. But the frog part is tricky since that's story-dependant; if it was a stage play, they'd simply be in elegant frog costumes, similar to The Lion King. I'd suggest making the musical sequences turning them human to show their imagination (especially furing "When We're Human").
I just consider the "Live-action" remakes as yesterday's Straight-to-DVD sequels. You don't hear "Let's watch Mulan 2 again.", and I doubt anyone said "Let's watch the live-action Mulan again." yet. Let Disney do their crappy "live action" remakes, as long we can watch the originals, the remakes would be easily forgotten.
Mulan is my favorite Disney princess, but the film itself isn't as rewatchable for me as other Disney movies, likely due to limited fantasy elements and only 4 songs. The live-action version could've improved upon this, but they went a different direction. I'm especially annoyed that the director said she didn't know how to make a film about a girl going to war a musical--which tells me she shouldn't have directed it. I have similar grievances with Raya.
@@sebaschan-uwu You probably misunderstood the point. I used Mulan 2 as an example as it's one of many Disney's cash grab blunders (similar to what we see now with LA remakes).
Considering Frozen's 10th anniversary is coming up, I wouldn't put it past Disney to announce it then. I am pretty sure they're holding back its announcement because it's like, the ultimate weapon lmao
Calling it now, at the end of Tangled remake, Rapunzel will cut her own hair because they don't want Eugene to take her "woman hood" away. Also, Eugene will be useless because man. Screw current disney
And the Naveen will also be useless, not get character growth, and will not end up with Tiana, who will already have or get her restaurant on her own because ‘women are more bad-a** than men and don’t need them to succeed in life’ I agree, screw current Disney.
@@kbraven7007 I mean, but she cut her hair in the series in order to potentially save her friends including Eugene… so I think that those will be different circumstances
@animatednerd2456 yeah, it was a different circumstance. In the film, Eugene cut her hair to protect her and show his growth as a character. No doubt the remake will miss that because "Rapunzel doesn't need a man,".
Though for Tangled, it would be cool if they included Cassandra and Varian to some capacity. I would like to see what Cassandra is doing during the main Tangled movie storyline. Maybe have her team up with Maximus to track down Flynn or something to prove herself to become a guard. (That would solve the Maximus expression problem)
@@ZoeyStoriesYTtechnically the show is only a sequel for the animated movie so even if Varian was included and met Rapunzel it wouldn't really matter.
My problem is, I watch movies *because* they are animated! I just love the artwork and enjoy the animation, the exaggerated expression, everything. I really couldnt care less for a live action remake of any cartoon movie, and am probably not gonna watch it anyway.
on principle atleast you should care though, because Disney is changing the race of all their characters, whitch teaches kids that it's ok to be lazy and instead of being oroginal just remake already established movies.
The Princess and the Frog is my and my partner's go-to on movie night. The music is just wonderful, the atmosphere, the villian, and the romantic pair are all great. Same can be said for Tangled, it's a personal favorite of mine. I severely doubt either will turn out well. Maybe Tangled will be alright but there is no way The Princess and the Frog, with its heavy focus on non-human characters will look good.
At this point, Disney might try to remake their live-action content into animated remakes, they could be desperate enough to duct tape whatever they have not shredded, or worst, coerce Pixar into making live-action remakes of their animated features, imagine what a live-action Toy Story would look like.
Flounder & Sebastian (he's no crab rave) looked dead eyed in the Little Mermaid remake. Imagine a Finding Nemo remake, it would just be as lifeless as that The Lion King remake.
I specifically worry about the princess and the frog one. Tangled with its hair effects doesn't seem like that big of a problem. Grab one of those RU-vidrs with really long hair, add extensions and put on some good video editing for the glow effect. That's probably the easiest problem to fix, especially in the scenes with her hair in a braid. However, the princess and the frog is a movie that I don't trust Disney to handle properly. Not due to visuals. But due to writing and representation. It's so incredibly easy for them to make the racist themes the entire story and end up making the movie even more racist. Because yes, there is racism in it. Theres white characters talking about how she's just a servant, even treating her like beneath them. And the friendly white family that Tiana is friends with? The dad is more of a white savior kind of character than actually caring. Lonnie seems to be the one that cares most even though she is pretty ignorant. And the thing is, it worked. This isn't like the crows from dumbo. This is an accurate representation (though I'd say a bit tamer) of the time period the movie takes place in. And it worked to show that she will get what she wants through her own hard work and no white bastard is gonna stop her. The racist people around her shape her character and are shown to be in the wrong. It's a delicate balance that doesn't offend the audience, but it does make them feel offended for Tiana and invested in her character. The animation was a big help in showing the characters' expressions through the slightly cartoonish exaggerating. It worked together very well. However, I can easily forsee this becoming another Ariel. Expressionless. And I can forsee them making her explain herself over and over for no reason, rejecting a man because girl power, forced to accept the money from Lonnie's dad and somehow have Tiana's dad die because of something he did and so "it's his own fault". I have seen this type of "empowerment" and "representation" so many times from Disney. And somehow they're just much more offensive in their live action remakes where they're priding themselves on doing such a good job compared to the original movie. I agree with the sentiment that tangled and especially princess and the frog should get a remake. Live action? Maybe. But either way, Disney should not be the one making it. Because I don't trust them to not fuck it up. Also, if they end up changing Rapunzel's look, they should tread VERY carefully. Barbie is watching. And us barbie fans will cause a riot if they copy the look barbie Rapunzel had without any credit. Barbie did it before Disney. We like the copycat, but we won't forget who copied who. Yes I know Rapunzel is a fairytale. But several things about Barbies version were things that Disney copied or built upon and these traits weren't really present in earlier versions. And barbie gets the credit for putting the fairytale on the radar of the average person. So it's hard to argue that Barbies version isn't one of the biggest inspirations for Tangled
"I can easily forsee this becoming another Ariel" That put an image of them turning Tiarna white in my head. That would NOT fly, as the characters in Lilo & Stitch getting a reverse Ariel treatment is already controversial enough. They SHOULD tread lightly...VERY lightly. 😰 Princess & the Frog does not need a live action remake, it's perfect as it is.
@@chenillesagoe6348 I mean, they're used to long hair in their daily life. Makes sense that they'd be better at working with the long hair and act more natural with it
I don't really see the point of them making a live action snow White it just doesn't make sense to me and also why would they make Tiana White if she's black in the animated movie like that's going to make the movie weird in my opinion
I get that Disney can't make the animals look good when they're doing a live action remake of animated movies. So Princess And The Frog would look weird with 2 real frogs and I shudder to think about what Ray the Firefly would look like as a real bug. Bugs look kinda freaky when you zoom in on their faces. Plus making a real horse to look good when you can't get the same expressions that animated Maximus had. I have seen The Chronicles of Narnia, several animals looks emotionless like Philip the Horse at the end of The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe.
At first I was okay for a live action Snow White but seeing the photos nah. For Tangled, I don't want Rapunzel to be played from a Indian actress since the character is German. For Ariel I was okay with it because it’s a mermaid. I know in Once Upon a Time we did get a black Rapunzel which is okay since I know there can be black Germans but never seen a Indian-German. Glad they aren't doing a live action Hunchback of NotreDame. Sadly I have heard rumors that for some reason they want Tiana to be white in the live action movie. When we were first announced to have a animated series before live action. Now that got scrapped for the live action instead of waiting.
I geuinely don't think they will make Tiana white. That was probably just a "joke" from some guy on Twitter or 4-Chan because "if they make Ariel black then they can race swap any characters".
People would get absolutely livid if they made Tiana white. Having her not be black would cut out so much of the struggle, so much underscoring of how hard she worked for her dream, that it wouldn’t really make for as compelling of a character
Rapunzel is a German fairy tale, but the character is from the fictional country of Corona, so it kind of depends on how German-inspired you consider Corona and how that'll affect the casting of Rapunzel.
I wished they just adapt other fairytales. Like White Cat, Moss green princess, and Mother Holle would make great Disney flicks. Granted some fairytale probably wouldn’t make a good Disney film like Godfather or Donkey Skin.
I give up … there is NO read for a tangled live action The animated one is literally amazing and they better not change Flynn Rider’s character I love him!!
I honestly have given up on these live-action remakes. It’s like you said, they’re all just cash-grabs. You can’t even really call The Lion King one a live-action remake because it’s all CGI. But I’ve just gotten to a point where I don’t need to see these remakes to relive the magic of the originals. I have the originals on Disney Plus, so that’s what I’m going to watch. Hopefully Disney will stop these like they eventually did with the sequels but who knows?
Here’s my team! My Justice League! Green Arrow -Leader Blue Beetle -Alien and Tech expert Static Shock -Jack of All trades Supergirl -Powerhouse of the team Shade the Changing Man -Transdimensional being Jinx -Magic expert Harley Quinn -Wild Card
Let's get this trending: #FireSeanBailey #FireBobIger -> Sean Bailey is the president of Walt Disney Pictures and he's the one who's responsible for all the remakes
They could just remake “Black Caluldron” and “PageMaster” as a series or film, like old fans will just appreciate them getting some love and its old enough to change stuff if you want to. It would be really nice. Maybe “Troll in Central Park” if they feel like it.
I think for tangled they will make mother gothel the misunderstood and the king bad. They will make flin ryder as a misognistic character & rapunzel will be a girl boss
I can't wait to see Maximus the horse and Pascal the cameleon '' animated '' like Simba in his live remake, with no emotions. That won't make them boring at all! It would be great if they will look super realistic and have an mouth in 3D who moves up and down. Not weird to look at 😂
The Snow White movie is definitely gonna be the worse one cuz the actress herself hates Snow White as a character and demanded to be paid for every time the movie is streamed.
Hi ok the princess and the frog don't need a living action remake the animated one is fine I am so tried of complaining about the to hero binning trafomed into frogs because the whole point was that they need to learn a lesson as for Tangled live action that could work if done with effort But modern Disney does not want to put any effort into there movies anymore and that makes me very sad
I do NOT want a live action Tangled. This movie is my second favorite movie and part of why I love it so much is because of how hilarious most of the characters are. I am SICK of Disney live actioning the living hell out of nearly every movie. The ONLY one I really want Disney to do is Atlantis the Lost Empire, considering how much it’s grown in popularity lately. It even has the perfect dynamic and storytelling for a live action movie. With the Little Mermaid, I think the part that annoyed me the most aside how butchered the songs were was the fact they literally bled out the humor in different characters like Scuttle, who came off as actually annoying and irritating instead of the clumsy oaf who made you laugh.
To be fair to the princess abd the frog, that movie was great, it just wasn’t getting the attention it deserved. Tangled could work, but its weird do it
Honestly I think they should go more theatrical instead of realistic when it comes to animals in Disney, think cat’s the musical (the old theatre plays I mean), like in princess and the frog they could just shrink the characters through cgi, and then have them wear like frog cloaks like crescent shay’s or something, give them frog makeup, HAVE THEM BE FURRIES
Meanwhile, the planned sequel to Tron: Legacy, Tron: Ares has been indefinitely canceled when Tron already has tons of potential as a film franchise and is original. But no, let's keep shoehorning in more LARs because money.
Considering Tangled and Moana are the highest-grossing Disney princess films, I'm not shocked--plus TPATF is underrated. Though I would prefer more original musical live-action Disney films.
Stop Saying "Make Original Movies, Disney" Half of Y'all Don't Even Show Up For The Original Movies They Do Release Like Strange World, Y'all Didn't Showed Up For That. I Really Want To Know If Y'all Show Up For "Wish".
@@kbraven7007 Well, it's actually it's own brand, as Anna and Elsa are NOT part of the Disney princess franchise. We're getting a part 3, so that's probably why there's no announcement, in any case. I would've preffered a high-budget miniseries, but I digress.
Noooooo!!! You can't see the radiant liiiiiiiightt!!! You can't hear the beautiful chaaaaaantt!!! You can't feel the tender waaaaaaaarmmm!!! If you can give someone something *Guitar solo*
First of as far as cgi goes Disney should Be using jungle book 2016 as a go to not lion king 2019 because The cgi in that movie The exception of a couple of shots most of cgi looks pale and ugly the cgi in jungle book 2016 looks beautiful and still hold up 8 years later
Tangled could work IF THEY HIRED A WHITE ACTRESS NOT THE INDIAN ONE PEOPLE ARE TALKING ABOUT. SHE HAS MAGICAL BLONDE SUN HAIR IT MAKES NO SENSE FOR A BLACK HAIRED WOMAN TO PLAY HER! The little mermaid was ok but IF THEY BLACKWASH TANGLED THAT IS SOO WRONG but im 100% sure people won't care until disney does the same with frozen
I don't understand the point in these remakes. I really don't. For the most part, I don't think they're saying anything new, and I think they're trying to drag out the story (seriously, these movies are all so long) and fix problems that aren't there. The magic of the originals is just gone in the remakes. I don't want realism or meta commentary when I watch Disney. I want fantasy, magic, and fun. Tangled and Princess and the Frog bring all 3 to the table. Those are really bad picks for live-action remakes, especially Princess and the Frog. The live-action animals do NOT work well at all. I'm with you, I don't want to watch real frogs romancing each other lol!
OMG can you guys imagine the actress who might play Rapunzel wearing heavy 70 feet length hair extensions!!!!... it was a really pain for the animators to animate Rapunzel’s hair in the 2010 movie 🎥 but it will be EVEN worse!!! The hair getting ‘tangled’ (get it because that’s the name of the movie) how is she supposed to swing around the tree, how can she complete her daily tasks/chores🧼🧽🧺🧹, or the little girls braiding Rapunzel’s into that that beautiful braid with colourful flowers 💐🌷🌹🌺🌸🌼🌻👩🏼🦰👩🏻🦰👩🏼🦰👩🏼🦰 And they will make Pascal ugly...😭😭😭😭😭😭 What is happening
I hope he sees this comment, it’s not related to this video, but I love all your videos but can you please make a video on what you think if they should’ve changed miraculous for “ hawk moth” instead of using the butterfly miraculous? Aren’t we going to get tired of that also if they did use a different miraculous, which miraculous do you think they should’ve used?
I’m done with Disney remakes after the little mermaid remake which I thought was worse than Peter Pan and Wendy and this is coming from someone who likes Peter Pan and Wendy agree with you I too wish this shit would stop We don’t need anymore of those live action remakes there is enough bad shit that new without just rehashing same old shit over but worse
I also prefered Robin William's "You've Never had a Friend like Me" to Will Smith's "Keep my Wife's Name out your f*cking Mouth" when it came to songs. Yes, this comment is satire.
I agree 100% about animal faces looking bad in live action. Having realistic-looking animals as characters just doesn't really work, because they can't convey actual emotions/personality the way that the animated versions can. I think this will be a serious problem for the How to Train Your Dragon remake as well (assuming that's still getting made), because Toothless relies ENTIRELY on facial expressions to communicate with other characters and the audience. These studios need to accept that some things just work a lot better in animation, and that live action isn't necessarily the higher art form.
Well, they should roll dice to randomly change genders and colors or every white male character too, none cares for love but for power, hire most 'feminist' actresses, hyper-realistic CGI animals and dont forget to worsen color pallete and all songs there
Princess and the frog will have a lot of CGI animals which I can't find interesting at all. Maybe doing a live action sequel would be more interesting, so Tiana could be present in HUMAN FORM the hole movie. Maybe they have children and the children are cursed and transform into frogs and her and Naveen need to help them?
It's really just for money. Making up new stories is scary but these remakes can't live up to the originals and we are all begging for original stories anyway so what do they have to lose. Also, never thought they would make live-action Snow White but I'm also not suprised. Also also, Stich is just going to look creepy isn't he?
You have to think like Disney they would use CGI for the hair and possibly the horse. I would genuinely be surprised if they have Maximus just be a horse they're not gonna care that the animated had more expression. If people are stupid enough to give Disney a billion dollars to animals that just talk and lacked expression Disney would have no problem doing the same thing for tangled and even Princess and the frog
Ima riot if they make a live action Princess and The frog, it just isn’t going to be good and if I know thease remakes, they will just disrespect the original. An original witch is one of the best movies and romances Disney has ever made. Out of all the princesses I think only Mulan, Beauty and the Beast and Meybe Tangled hold a candle too. (The others that are great just have some issues that make it a tad more flawed as movies, but still enjoyable, love em still)
Princess and the Frog makes sense, considering half the plot has Tiana as a frog - but God, I am *dreading* the insufferability of her already somewhat flat character because Disney thinks all hardworking girls have to follow the Carol Danvers mold. And like, how are they gonna present the racism backdriving plot? The original movie was already criticized for making Big Daddy and Lottie too nice...
personally I'm all here for Disney making a fool of themselves with these live action abominations, while DreamWorks goes god mode with the awesome stuff they've been getting out lately
As the way disney is going it is impossible to make them they are so complex and they are made in late 2000s and early 2010s so to make it in live action they gonna lost a lot of charm a lot of fantasy specially tangled since the world has hyper fantasy vibes its rather impossible to make it look good i mean the CGI in little mermaid and lion king look horrible so this movies heavily stick to CGI and they gonna look cheap af
I'm pretty sure it was recently confirmed that the live-action remake for Lilo and Stitch was cancelled Ironically, Hunchback of Notre Dame was cancelled just because Bob Iger doesn't like the original movie
Because blm told Disney to never change black characters to white or Asian characters.....it's only allowable to change the white characters to black characters 🤷♂️
Yeah, no tangled is my favorite Disney princess movie and a live action would ABSOLUTELY ruin it! It's never EVER going to look as vibrant and as amazing as the animated one.. plus maximus will look stupid
I've always been very forgiving of the live actions up until now, but after following the news surrounding the Snow White dumpster fire, I'm officially out. How Rachel Zegler hasn't been fired for her toxic Twitter posts yet is beyond me. 😤
Brother Bear but focused on Native American struggles needs to be addressed from spirituality, brotherhood, and revenge since it never depicts them as 'noble native' despite being tuned/ one with nature but as humans living and surviving in nature.
I liked Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast (don’t judge me) and Maleficent and noticed the trend early on that they’re probably going to make more of these. Honestly I was excited especially when they announced The Little Mermaid cause that’s one of my favourites and I love Halle Bailey but like you said, the movie was just ok. Couldn’t even finish The Lion King cause I felt like I was watching a nature documentary. Most of these movies don’t make sense as Live-Action adaptations. It limits them so much and they’re not going to have the same feel. I agree with you, I think they should just quit while they’re ahead. I don’t even like to rewatch most of these remakes and if I do it’s usually for the songs like the John and Ariana’s version of Beauty and the Beast at the end credits.
I wanna thank you for not showing us aragogue's face, as a arachnophobic I would like to avoid seeing spiders everytime I can. I did remember from the reference and it was enough.
Tangled is too wonderful and perfect to need a live-action remake. There is no way live-action can improve any element of it so why even try? Is Disney truly that desperate for money? Instead, why not actually create or adapt some new stories and characters? There are countless fairy tales and stories from around the world yet to explore, so give us something new please!
At some point the love for Disney will die with the removal of Mickey Mouse...Why are they creating this garbage instead of concentrating on the future movie ideas....
