Tsitsipas is definitely not in form. He lost form after the family loss he had after Wimbledon. He tries to get back in form after that brrat in training and the mourning after which he came to Wimbledon to lose first match, and then lost in a small tournament from a Serbian, and then slowly starting to trying to get back form, but fighting 2 weeks with Greek media and Greek politicians with fighting on whether people should do vaccination, and then getting at the same time the if he goes to toilets issue and affects his try to get back to form. He was in form up to Wimbledon. Now Zverev and Medvedev are in form. Not to say or deny the great player Alcaraz is, and Tsitsipas said he will be contender of grand slam titles. But Tsitsipas is definitely not in form since some months And Alcaraz is very different player from Nadal.as he also said closer to Federer than Nadal, although that still different since Fed was always very much below his level on clay, while Alcaraz has trained alot on clay, as Spaniards usually do.

A little dangerous to compare a young guy to Nadal, Federer or Djokovic. Most of all I don't think we'll ever see another Nadal. Remember, he likely ends up with 12+ FO titles, when 6 was the record before he came along. That's a 100% increase of the previous record and highly unlikely to ever be repeated... Think about it... In order to do that one has to win 24 FO titles :-)

He 'looks' like a mix of Roger, Rafa, Novak, and Sampras. His face is like an amalgamation of all their faces. 😀 As to whether he'll be able to replicate their success, we should probably go easy with those predictions. Alcatraz can consider himself fortunate if he can win as much as Ferrero did. That in itself is a pretty decent tennis career, and I'm sure he'll have plenty of fun along the way and make decent money. I don't think these comparisons do any good for the players. They just expose our craving for sensationalist stories tbh

Alcaraz is his own man. His game is like a mix of Federer (ability to generate pace) and Djokovic. His defensive skills and mentality are like Rafa / Djokovic. He can serve at 134 mph but can improve it, as well as the low slice, volleys, net game. Scary to think how good he can get. He is more complete than Rafa and Novak were at his age. I hope he stays injury free. In my opinion, he will be more successful on hard courts though his firepower will absolutely help him on clay.
@jollymolly2521
@jollymolly2521 3 года назад
I assume people are saying he's going to be the next Nadal because he's from Spain? But, the interview I saw with the kid he said his style was more like Roger's and that his game is more modeled after Roger than Nadal - which I found funny since the kid's from Spain. He said he liked to be very aggressive, play all court and hit a lot of winners. Nobody has ever accused Nadal of being the most aggressive player around. LOL! I've seen the kid play a couple of times and obviously he's only 17 and needs to grow into his body. He's listed as 6'1" but players are just so tall and powerful today growing few inches wouldn't hurt his chances of being in the top 10. Just don't be like Sascha Zverev with a booming first serve and Venus Williams' second serve. Meow! Seriously...Zverev really needs to do something about that 2nd serve... Overall, these guys are so young that saying they'll be top 10 in 1-3 years is putting the cart ahead of the horse. Look at FAA and Shapo. FAA in particular has the game but hasn't put it all together yet because once you get into the top 20 the talent level increases 10-fold. And the reality is - in 2-3 years when Roger, Rafa and Novak are all retired or playing a lot less the sport is going to naturally open up for all of these guys who are currently in their early-to-mid 20s to win some Slams. These young guys are going to have to be exceptional talents in order break through.
@grimson
@grimson 3 года назад
Yeah your last point is very true - you can be super talented, but actually winning multiple Slams even AFTER Djokovic and Nadal have faded (Roger already has, let's be honest) means beating the very top guys head-to-head under the most intense pressure. Guys like Sinner and Rublev are already showing the pure talent, but are still behind the likes of Medvedev, Thiem, Tsitsipas, and Zverev, and even that group is still having a hard time dislodging mid-30s Nadal and Djokovic. It's a tough, tough battle.

@catwoman1149
@catwoman1149 3 года назад
@Jolly Molly Agree💯. Also: to be successful you have to be yourself and working with your own body and abilities, it's not about copying someone's playing style, tactics etc. What's mostly forgotten: nowadays all are so distracted by social media stuff and this will cut off your focus in important moments and times. The upcoming players are interesting, yes, but they won't be that dominant over such a long time as Federer, Rafa and Djokovic who won important titles and even Grand Slams before their 20th bday.
@catwoman1149
@catwoman1149 3 года назад
@@grimson True👍🏼. Medwedew isn't that constant and struggling with his temper and mindset. Tsitsipas is a gem but won't give his last shirt if it comes to torture your body and even health - there's also another life than tennis, he's an inspiring intellectual intelligent human and player tho. Thiem has it all if there weren't the big3 but he's already the prince of clay and a hard challenge on hard court. Rublev is very talented and has period but won't be lasting. Zverev is too impressed by himself imho but he's young and can work it out. Sinner is highly talented and devoted and determined, but imho there's a lack of bite, and he has to work on his fitness level and endurance, although he's really special. Like all these diversities and variety of players👌🏼🎾. Tennis is so inspiring.

@ManuelCocco
@ManuelCocco 3 года назад
Ure so right what many people don't really get is that anybody in the top 50 (I would say even in the top 100 or 200) is extremely talented, and the difference between say Benoit Paire rank 33 and Rublev or Medvedev is not so much on talent but rather on mentality, discipline etc...you know that guys like Pospisil or Sandgren look like they are mostly hard workers that needed to give their all to get there; but they are actually extremely gifted players and sure they are more working bees than the Kyrgios, Paire & Bublik type, but still not have the consistency of their delivery to get to the top 20 less so to the top 10. And then of course you have the big 3 which are truly from another dimension.
@lordalex8342
@lordalex8342 3 года назад
@@ManuelCocco something that amazes me is that all the top 100 players have been the best of their generation. For example Alcaraz in spain since he was six has always been the best. And all the players are like that. But then they reach the top 100 the atp tournoment and they just fight for mantain themselves there no ambicion for winnig every tournoment. For example Verdasco and feliciano are out of therse world players and they've spent the last ten years winnig the minimun to stay in the top 100. It depends on the mindset at that level.

He's good but Nadal at his age had beaten the world no. 4 and the world no. 1 and had won 1 ATP title, and one year later, he won 4 tournaments in a row (2 masters, 1 500 and one grand slam), he won 11 titles in the season where he was 18/19 (2005). Alcaraz has no chance of equalling this, so he isn't the next Nadal. My guess is a maximum of 8 slams in his career.
@krishnaramachandran7722
@krishnaramachandran7722 2 года назад
He is being compared to Nadal because Nadal is the inspiration for all spaniards. Alcaraz covers court well and wins some points from losing positions in rallies just as Nadal used to do. Other than that there is no similarity in their styles. Alcaraz is right handed, does not have insane top spin and has a very attacking game compared To Nadal. Both are good when they get to the net and Alcaraz uses drop shots more and better than Nadal did at his age. Alcaraz needs to improve his serve and return to be able to beat top guys like Medvedev, Tsitsipas, Novak, Nadal, Sinner, Musseti and Zvarev. That's an area he has to work on.

Forecasting young players as the next legend (Fed, Nadal, Novak) is toxic and unfair, which many people agree about yet the media continues to do it to create clickbait. The delta between the physical ability of the top 15, whether 20 years ago or today is relatively small. What separates the legends and everyone else is the mental game. Alcaraz is supremely gifted physically to compete with the top players in the world at 17, so hopefully that under the tutelage of a former #1 he will achieve great things.

There won't be another Nadal.. Very true but comparing with another player may be a bad idea provided he enters a match with heavy burden already (comparison with Nadal here) other than the match pressure hindering his performance.. He can be one of the best upcoming players provided his attributes on court.. As expectation leads to disappointment it's a bit far to compare and expect him or any upcoming player with the Big 3 .. I mean come on.. They have their capabilities.. Alcaraz and other upcoming future giants may beat the record of 20 Grand slams(fingers crossed) and other records. So let's just hope he's getting better year after year to compete the big stage.. As far his performance is concerned let him come up and prove his capability.. Maybe he'll become better than Nadal or Federer or Djokovic who knows..

What about Ruusuvoori? I see Sinner & Ruusuvoori one step ahead of Alcaraz and Musetti....but these 4 have most def top ten potential...from that to compare any of them with any of the big three, well I think you can't start doing that even with any of the current Thiems and Medvedevs, at least until they win 5 or 6 slams in 2 or 3 different places.

... next Nadal? ... is so easy to say it... Nadal, Federer, and Nole are from another galaxy, after them, the tennis world will be dull for quite a while.

I practice with Carlos a few weeks ago he’s a really good player but you can’t compare him with Nadal. I lost 7-5 6-3 played the best tennis of my life but he has to win against me 6-0 6-0.

Saw him play after hearing he was the "next Nadal" Hate to say it but his game didn't impress me at all. Obviously still young, but sometimes those generational talents just have an "IT factor" when you see them play even at a young age, you just know they're going to be something special. Saw it with Rafa back in 04-05. Just don't see it with this kid

Same here. He just seems like a very good player but I don't see that special "spark" in him.

Well, this just proves the point I was making on 'Why Novak does not have fanbase' video. Had this kid been from Serbia no one would've heard about him till he wins a grand slam at least. But he's Spanish so here we are talking about him for no bloody reason at all and comparing him with Rafa. Like straight Rafa. I mean this channel sounds like being run and written by a teenager. Edit: Just stick showing highlights and collections only please. These are juvenile opinions otherwise.
