Adams being compared to Carragher is crazy. He had so many more qualities, size, speed, anticipation etc

He definitely had appreciation for other teams and certain players, just couldn't show it during his Managerial career. I have to agree, Adams and Carragher were huge leaders.

Feel like sir Alex loves these types of players. Not the most talented but who would give 200% every game. He had so many like this in his squad to start with.

Adams retired too young and I remember Alan Hansen saying he was crazy to retire when he did. Even with him missing most of 2002 with injury, when he did play, Adams was still world class and one of the best CBs in the country. Also a brilliant leader who knew how to get the best out of his team. Will forever be the only captain in history to have won the league title in three separate decades and the only captain ever to have lifted the old Division one title and the Premier League title. I think it’s insulting Carragher is mentioned in the same breath as Adams if truth be told.

Adams was a pure Arsenal player. Showed with how much he won there

I’m not a Man Utd but a football fan and I love the way mr Ferguson praises others. In my opinion the best man manager in the world

Tony Adams was talented but apart from that he's 💯 right. He was England's No. 1 centre-back. No way he was average.

Sir Alex was always a fan of average players with huge desire and passion for their team.

If a Human fridge costs £80 million in today's money then Adam's would have been worth at least double in his prime.

Think Fergie should have expressed and shared more of this respect actually when he was a manager. Would have been more universally liked. He just always came across as arrogant but behind that was obviously a real admiration for some of his most fierce opponents and never a bad thing to admit that from time to time
