Like the little disclaimer. I have almost the same sound preference. I usually always eq down the treble a bit on most cans Ive had, gets rid of that odd quality to the harmonics, you're spot on there. Loving my Mangird Tea's I picked up off of your rec! I do find the highs to be a little sharp on them, but eq tames it well. My first IEM's, and to be honest they beat my $300 Grado cans for sure, as the bass is actually present!! They sound great for everything, but to me they are hip hop and electronic BEASTS! Loving the sub-bass extension. It hits notes almost as well as the my dual 12" subs in my suv, but still has way more detail in the highs and mids than in there. I actually finally can hear all of the high freq going on in Zep's "The Song Remains the Same" from Bonzo's cymbals and Jimmy's shimmering chords, without it all getting muddled together. 🔥🔥🔥 Anyway, rambling over. Good reviews Bad Guy
I too bought the Mangird Tea due to BGGAR's review! It's my first foray into quality IEMs (not quality audio equipment) and I have to say that I really love them. I have the money to buy more expensive gear, but I'm reluctant to hop (once again) on the pursuit-of-perfection-audio-train. Been there, done that. I've simplified all my audio gear to ripped CDs, FiiO M11, Mangird Tea's and a few streaming services. And I'm listening to more music now than since I was a teen in the 1980's. It's interesting that the Mangird Tea is - by a VERY large margin - the least expensive S-tier IEM on BGGAR's spreadsheet. I wonder if it wouldn't serve as a good baseline for comparisons? Is it just a "budget" outlier? Or does it truly hold its own against far more expensive IEMs?
Good review, as always. I like how Thieaudio has a series of IEMs that are released in pairs, and the naming is just spectacular. "Monarch," "Clairvoyance," "Oracle. " I was itching to buy the Excalibur just because of the name lol. Looking forward to what their next pair will be named. Arthur and Merlin, perhaps? Anyway, have you tried the Moondrop Aria? I'm interested to hear what you have to say about those.
This may be a strange question, but which is closest to the Shure SE215 sound? I prefer warmth, lush mids and a sort of veiled texture. Should I still go for the Oracle or is the Excalibur better suited for that?
I own the Monarch and the Oracle and I enjoy both however the Oracle's soundstage is not as pleasing to me as is the Monarchs. Just to give an idea of my soundstage impression, Monarch 180 degrees, Oracle 120 degrees. Does the Clairvoyance have a wider soundstage than the Oracle? I'm a sucker for spaciousness in the musical presentation of an IEM. Contemplating returning the Oracle for the Clairvoyance. Your thoughts sir?
Nice comparison. Could you get your hands on an ifi idsd Micro signature? I am searching for a good dac/amp that i can connect to my phone right now. What device would you suggest? It should be portable and i wanna use it with my UM Mest MKII and the mangird Tea. By the way, thanks a lot for your recommendations. Your reviews are absolutely unique and super helpful!
I was about to pull the trigger on these but I think I’ll pay the extra. Do you think the Clairvoyance or Monarchs are a significant upgrade from the Fiio FH3? I do listen to a lot of EDM and Rock and like bass but torn between them.
I checked again on Starfields through a FiiO BTR5 ...I liked that passage even more than on Mangird..I could almost see each finger pulling on a string really fast
Nice video again. Tks. I am a great fan of ThieAudio. Why the V14 keeps falling in your list? Bought it when it was the top. I got it that are new things comming...but its so low now...same level as Ikko 010 and others that are not so great. Its frustrating because a lot of people buy expensive stuff based on your rec. Imagine if you pay for the Mest and in six months feom now you place it below a KZ ? Kkkk I know you can change your mind, just would like to understand your criteria. I not critizing, its just because you are may main source when to buy expensive gear without trying it 👏👊🤙
Nice video. Not weird. Can you explain tuning in detail to us who fully don’t understand. Are each driver tuned or am I not asking the correct question? Thanks dude
Thanks. I can do a vid. Combination of any or all (crossed over, filtered tuned, tuned by length of tube running from driver to nozzle, tubeless.) not sure exactly how Thie went about this with this set.
So the oracle is the best thieaudio iem in your opinion? Also I cannot find the impedence of the iem, is it able to be powered through a phone or does it need amplification?
Man I really want the clairvoyance. I need a new PC before anything else but I already have a legacy 3 and mangird tea. I don’t know how much I would be gaining from what I already have. Maybe I should just shut up and be happy.
Oh..I dunno. It's crazy it's even a question but get it cuz I do love the Lokahi. At that $ I would just say , keep waiting. It's worth every penny. Maybe a battle in future
