I mentioned it in the Fighter video, but I realized in my second run through the demo that a backline Thief with the Dancer's Band also makes excellent use of that item. You're trading out PP for the guaranteed evades so it could be a bit risky, but on the backline with proper shielding you could have a fast support unit that steals PP from the enemy with the most of it, then turns those into charges of damage amp for your next few allies turns. Maybe something like Alain on the frontline with Aubin and Travis in the back? Man this game's tight.
I typically do this with Alain and Chloe. Alain can have Runic Blade for anti armor and Chloe gets really good hits if there are columns to stab through. Also I can't wait to see what other passive abilities on items will be awesome with Thief
@@Ouvii Nice, Runic blade is pretty cool but I prefer how it feels on Josef. Helps to keep him relevant by giving him a magical nuke option and scaling the power of his heal. As an update on the particular teamcomp I mentioned in the OP, I'm going through my first expert run of the demo now and a slight alteration is simply obliterating content. I've got Alain in the front with templar's sword and shield, spamming Lean Edge to keep himself topped up, Travis as mentioned with a Dancer's band in the backline, if there's no Hoplites on the enemy team chances are good he'll steal a PP and buff Alain's next attack, practically guaranteeing a kill. Berenice rounds out the party far better than Aubin, the Sellsword's damage output is just far better for finishing off enemies as they uselessly attack Alain, and stacking crit on her with a Warrior's Medallion, Eyepatch, and the Hallowed Blade granting her a whopping 45 phys atk and 40% crit at level 9. I've yet to run into any enemy comp that can touch this team, even when Hoplites are around because between Berenice and Alain they do enough physical damage to bypass their armor and get kills anyways. Aubin still isn't bad on the team, but he definitely needs a feather accessory so he moves before Travis and Alain, and ideally at level 10 as well so he can shred the defense of the entire front line. I'll likely put him in the backrow as party member 4 once I hit renown C.
one of the top 5 units in the game imo. passive steal is one of the best skills in the game. it's one of the best "tanks' in the game and imo the best unit to take down Galerius. combine with a witch for best results imo to handle their weakness.
He’s the hottest free unit you get in the game and never gets hit he’s awesome. I pair him with the lord and he will shield him during battles where he won’t evade.
My best expert mode team was a Thief tank leader because of the speed with the lucky coin for extra 20 crit/avoid on top of the plus 20 avoid from silken scarf, A backline crit/ damage Housecarl with the Crush skill that is a unblockable stun but I had it only target Armors or cavalry, and finally a archer that had both the flame bow/ pursuit skill items equipped which allowed him to shoot twice at flyers with effective damage while also having the ability to burn for 20 unblockable damage. All three of these characters you get in the first hour of playing and the leader ability to quickly rest is really good in long fights or if you want another team to capture for the extra stamina. This team had coverage on armor, cavalry, thief, infantry, flying, mages, and gladiators. The team was amazing because they were able to soloing entire maps without any healing and had the ability to give another team plus two stamina. The team only real weakness is true strike and assist damage but currently in the demo nothing survives there damage outside of special enemies, so archers were never a problem and assist damage was easy to avoid or barely did anything.
I think thieves would be well-paired with team leaders with the teleport ability to escape bad matchups. Or just keep them with someone close to swap with to hedge your bets cause the thief will not survive many hits.
I like HP in his second equip slot after an evasion item. Makes a big difference in him not going down when a hit gets through. I find the second equip slot less of a cost than using someone else's PP
I wonder how good the angel girl is as a dodge tank compared to a thief? She can stack evasion even higher since her spiral sword skill gives her +20 evasion and she gets bonus evade against ground units, but she doesn't have the guaranteed evade skill. I didn't really get to use her since I unlocked her right at the end of my demo run, but she seemed strong just looking over her skills.
I gave him the possibility blade to really hurt the armor units but then he did that instead of passive steal so he started getting wrecked. Had go switch around the tactics on when to use what
