We're psyched to chat with you all tomorrow during our Watch Party! In the meantime we've got Season 13 live for the next few days - make sure you don't miss it 😎 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-c8qIVyYvkM4.html
Bondi Lifeguards kept me company in my hospital stay. Hoping to be discharge tomorrow but will continue watching until I watch every episodes out there 😅
I may be a bit late lol, but I have a suggestion. Add lockers with keys but the keys are like bracelets and you can put them on your ankle when you're swimming so you don't lose your stuff.
I reckon the police should set up a permanent base inside the Lifeguard shack or nearby. They'd be able to respond more quickly plus the lifeguards can focus on the sea and beach instead of thieves and perverts etc
Plus they could help with lost children and other minor issues they have. It would make sense but I assume it’s a funding issue with the police, or a lack of enough police to have a permanent team there 🤔
@@lilyhaselwood7975these life guards are highly trained don’t forget some of these videos are 10 years old. Procedures are updated every year just about. I agree the police need to be set up there all the time I do know they do patrols but they need to be there all the time so our lifeguards can do what they do best..
Even though stealing is obviously wrong, it’s nice that the lifeguards have the sympathy to understand that sometimes people do it because of desperate matters I feel sorry that the lifeguards were treated that terribly by the kid- that was aggressive and disrespectful
This is better than a movie! Can’t believe how many bags get stolen. Bondi beach is so busy it’s good the public keep an eye out. Our beach (Miami, Gold Coast) although busy but nothing like Bondi. Luckily never had my bag stolen. Lifeguards do an amazing job. Good on you guys
I've been watching Bondi since yesterday, and I want to say you got my admiration for doing what you do. Too bad lifeguards don't have a police clearance to do any arrest so they can concentrate better on their duties. Cheers from Canada!
You guys rock!! Thieves are pathetic. Six or seven years ago, I had my phone and wallet stolen during a business trip to Russia, and it was a nightmare. At least my passport was safe inside an inner coat pocket. I can only imagine the horror of having your phone, ID, money and travel documents stolen while on holiday.
Yes my brother came to stay in the UK from Canada, we went to the gym and went swimming, then we went back to the locker room, any although the locker was locked he new immediately he had not left his wallet on top, and they’d pinched his credit cards, we notified the credit companies and all cards had to be cancelled, they had already spent £2000 pounds on goods. But the credit card company would only issue a new card to his home address, Canada, and he was in the UK and was going on to Spain for a holiday, thank goodness for American Express they would issue a new card to bank in Birmingham, still 25 miles to travel to pick it up but at least a life line to still go on holiday
watching bondi rescue fun, it also makes me have very high respect towards lifeguards because they are risking their lives to help people. and i love watching the funny moments during rescues. keep up the good work mates.
Lifeguards do nothing than overstep the bounds of their authority (such as the scene where they laid hands on those 13 year old(s)) and milk the taxpayer
Yet the lifeguards are the ones causing most of the disruptions, by assaulting suspected thieves and laying hands on them. That scene with those 3 teenagers, the lifeguards escalated by grabbing them (physically) which is against the law
Why hasn't Bondi set up some locker system to try and prevent stealing even swimming pools have and it doesn't have to be a ton, first come first serve.
You guys have got to get the local police to show you wrist locks and thumb holds as well as any other holds they will show. These are really easy to use and It will make it a lot safer for you.
You do realize that most police in Australia don't know how to use handcuffs BECAUSE they rely on lifeguards or passerby to make arrests for them? That's precisely why Australia and other Western countries have citizen's arrest laws, it's because the police themselves aren't that good at physically subduing epople so they need untrained citizens to do it for them.
I wonder years later if these theives watch this back and are ashamed. I hope the problem is better today. Cheers Bondi Beach and Bondi Lifeguards, and of course the Police Service.
It still boggles the mind WHY do people leave such valuable possessions unattended on a crowded beach 🤷🏻♂️ It’s like an open invitation to career thieves!
@@titti1176 ....... the emphasis on “valuable possessions” ....... when I go to the beach I just take a towel! I certainly don’t need a mobile phone or passport, watch, jewellery, etc.
@@alessandrocantoni2075 ....... I also have a vague memory of when Australia was once “ the lucky country”. Mass immigration to primarily major regions hasn’t helped but regional and rural areas still remain largely trouble free of crime. Having said that, remaining diligent and aware of all possible risks is paramount.
I want to become a lifeguard. Serving the public and protecting people is very honorable. You lot really go above and beyond. That Indonesian guy would have a very hard way to go
Lifeguards arne't supposed to serve and protect, police are. Much of Bondi is staged and it's obvious since Queensland law doesn't allow lifeguards to lay hands on people suspect of theft
I hate it when people steal! Where I work, people will randomly steal stuff. It's not like they need to steal, for them it's a thrill. What they fail to realize is, they may not get caught right away, but by the time they do, they face felony charges and spend YEARS in jail! There are cameras pretty much everywhere, and there are deliberately people watching those cameras but not apprehending the thieves. They're building cases against those people, which unfortunately takes time. A few weeks ago, a couple girls came into my store, and I noticed them pretty quickly because they weren't wearing coats or jackets. At one point, one of them takes a $70 coat off the rack and puts it on. Ok, no big deal, people try on coats all the time before they decide if they want to buy them. Then, the two girls are walking around the store, acting suspiciously. Then they decided to complain that people were watching them. The second of the two girls decide to put on a coat too, and they decided not to pay for them! Not surprising in the least. Go to the store, act suspicious, then complain that you're being watched, just to prove exactly WHY you're being watched! I'm that person who usually pays people no mind, but if you've caught MY attention, congratulations! You've won the dumbest prize ever!
I wonder if the Bondi lifeguards are considering getting a drone to help keep an eye on missing swimmers and sharks and things like that. Other lifeguards have started using them and they say they save them time and resources. Just wondering.
Suggest the police assign a couple officers to the lifeguard station. They can handle the law enforcement and the lifeguards handle the swimmer safety. Concerned the lifeguard's attention is split between policing and life-saving.
I posted another comment about how I dislike how little authority they have, that was on another video called "helicopter called to catch a pervert". At 18:30 he mentions that they in fact can detain someone suspected of an offence via citizens arrest. Why didn't do that then?
When I go swimming at the beach, keys and money and ID go swimming with me in shorts pockets. I wear water socks, so if I lose my sandals it's no big deal. Ditto for the towel. I don't take electronics with me - anything that can't go into the water stays at home. Be tougher if you were on holiday though - leaving your stuff in a room safe, isn't safe.
I don't know about lifeguards having the authority to search peoples belongings even if he thinks its the stolen bag he should hate for the police to search the bag and determine ownership
Bondi beach has to open a small police station located close to the beach so when anyrhing happen the police are their and doesn't still have to be called.
All of these thieves should be lectured. Specifically about how they're potentially putting people at risk who are in the water by busying the lifeguards with their crimes
why doesn't someone have hut or something on the beach, where you can leave your bag, get a tag with the number on to claim your bag back, charge so much a hour/ half a day/
Does anyone know if bondi beach is actually still open? Or is it closed for the winter. I don’t know different times in countries, but I’m in the us so I don’t know about there but does anybody know if it’ll be open in awhile?
As a foreign immigrant (in Japan) I empathize with the thief but also the victim. Having all your IDs stolen when you’re not a full citizen is a NIGHTMARE. You have to notify government offices and go through a whole process to get new ones, and in the mean time you can get in trouble for not having those documents available when asked.
G'day mate. In minute 06.05, I watched a young guy lose his bag. He must be an Indonesian student who studies in Australia, and he did the right thing to engage with the Indonesian embassy there. This video is awesome and clearly shows the security system conducted by the Australian lifeguards is outstanding, stunning, and incredible equipment and personnel as well. Well done mate. Keep up the good work Asep Haryono Indonesia
Someone would make a killing on a locker service or something like a coat check. You could give out tags that have a safety pin attached so you can pin it to your swimsuit.
I WOULD SAY THAT THE BONDI LIFEGUARDS R SUPER HEROS (IF SUPER HEROS EXIST) BCAUSE IN MY OPINION SOMETIMES THERE R SITUATIONS THAT NO 1 CAN DEAL WITH/ BOTHER TO DEAL WITH BCAUSE THEY THINK THEY DON'T NEED TO DO ANYTHING CAUSE IT'S NOT THEM AT RISK. SO THE SUPER HEROS DRESSED AS THE BONDI LIFEGUARDS DO WHAT EVER NEEDS TO BE DONE .
