At the end of the episode we hear that both Ricky and Tabitha excelled in their roles but Lela's closed as Lela's debts were too high. Yelp reviews were mostly negative. I really felt for the owner in this one. Lazy, egotistical, clueless chef, thieving staff... people taking advantage of her left and right and the only ones who look out for her get constantly belittled

I work in a struggling restaurant especially now with covid and my boss tells me every goddamn day to get something to eat. I dont because I know he's not doing well. I cant even imagine stealing anything. Thats just terrible and is absolutely disgusting that someone does this to a business thats not doing well. Sad.

The guy literally walked out the door with 2 bags full of stolen food, together with another chef in the middle of his shift while the head chef was still in the restaurant and said he just left with whatever he get his hands on. She even said that every time after he's gone home things are missing for crying out loud The guy made no attempt to hide his thievery and the entire staff knew this yet she dares claim she'd have fired him before if she caught him instead of just admitting she has no control over her own staff

Buzzard being fired not only cuts out a major problem in the kitchen but also serves as an example of what happens when you think it's okay to steal from the job and fool around. You're being paid to do WORK not fill your own gut

She's a weak owner, way too nice. People are genuinely pretty shitty in this industry and they'll walk all over someone who's too weak willed. She clearly doesn't know anything about food with what she allows to go on in her pantry. It would be one thing if this was a union property, but she's the owner, she can fire anyone she wants to. Should have replaced Ricky a long time ago.

I used to work in a carvery (I was only there for a week, the job was not a good match for me since I'd aimed for server and got assigned to the kitchen), but I remember taking some food home from the carvery after a closing shift. The big difference was that it was leftovers at the end of the night and the people running the place actually asked us if we wanted any before it got thrown out. If we wanted meat, it had to be from the joints that weren't being kept for the next service. They decided what was kept by weight and temperature. A joint of meat had to be above a certain weight and within a certain temperature range in order to be kept, but things like vegetables, mash, stuffing, that sort of thing was up for grabs. I went home with essentially my dinner that night. Mash, Carrots, Peas, Roast Potatoes, a giant Yorkshire Pudding and some beef, with some gravy to put on top. Great meal and my Mum still uses the takeaway tray for taking food to work.
