I started dreaming about God telling Joseph to prepare for 7 years of famine. It took me a few to get the message, but God kept at it until I heard Him. And He told me to test Him on providing, because we couldn't afford to. I started tithing faithfully, and prepping at the same time. There are months that I have absolutely NO CLUE how God did it, but He has provided abundantly! And I was planning on a years supply, but I keep hearing 2 years, so I'm finally listening. Pray, and trust. God will provide for His children!!!

That's what I tell everybody. Some Christians don't feel the need to which is fine I guess.. yes God can provide! but he is also giving u all the warning signs to prepare for yourself and your family. We don't know how much we will have to go through before the Lord takes his ppl. Better safe than sorry 🤷‍♀️
@appalachiannana7975

@@olanizimmerman remembering Noah and all those who ignored him and made fun of him. So many other examples as well. I suppose folks think every is going to manna falling from heaven. Sometimes just doing what is right and normal is manna from heaven. I'm reminded of a man in a flood.He prayed for God to help him. It started to rain and water was rising. A fire dept came to his rescue. He said he was waiting on God. The water got much higher he retreated to the second floor. A man in a boat came for him. He called out he was waiting on God. Finally the water was so high he was on the roof. Once more a helicopter came to rescue him and once again he cried out he was waiting on God. The moral to the story is God answered his prayer 3 times but he ignored the obvious for the miraculous. Faith is not the absence of wisdom and is not the absence of doing.

At age 53, I planted my first seed a couple months ago. I spend a couple hours a day learning skills like gardening, baking, preserving, etc. channels like yours have been a life saver. It’s just time to do this now. Never had an intuitive yearning like this, best comparison would be “nesting” when you’re pregnant. I am single but am food preserving for as many people as possible. There will be many others like me that never had more than 2 days food in house. I spent $40 a day eating out, living in the city. Those days are over.

I am the oldest of 8 children in my family. I was born in 1955 and we grew up in the 60’s. My mom had 8 children in 10 years. My father is a baker. We didn’t have much money so my dad did most of the shopping since we only had one car. My parents had a large pantry and always kept it well stocked with canned fruits ,vegetables and potatoes ,evaporated milk, instant potatoes etc. We lived in suburban Long Island , New York. So we didn’t grow anything but grass, shrubs and flowers. But my parents kind of taught me to always have extras in the pantry and to buy things in larger quantities when things were on sale, which was an absolute necessity when we were growing up. Times were tough. I have been slowly stocking up on canned fruits, vegetables and meats, flour, water, juices, evaporated milk, dry milk, baking powder, rice, broth,soups, paper products, plastic wrap and bags, soaps, toothpaste, medications etc. I have seen the problems on the news with trucking, possible severe supply shortages, issues that could be related to the war in Ukraine and our government telling us that we will experience a cyber attack at some point. I have seen the weekly food and product prices going up from .50 to $2.00 at a time. I have seen empty shelves in Walmart and my local supermarket, no pasta, no water, no cream cheese, no mozzarella cheese, no yogurt. Low supplies of milk, canned goods, butter and others. I started slowly stocking up about 2 -3 months ago when I noticed these things .. I think it is wise to be prepared. I have 4 grown children. I live in Florida now for almost 30 years, and my two boys live nearby and one of my daughter is moving here in two months from CA with her family. So I am trying to prep for them too! I am going to start freezing some more things, but living in Florida and having experienced many hurricanes on the east coastal area, I know what it is like to be out of power for 2 weeks in 90 degree weather. You live out of coolers with ice. We also have a generator, which we purchase gas for ahead of time, but how can you be sure it will be available if there is a crises. We have a charcoal grill, a propane gas grill, battery run fans and I recently bought battery run lamps that are great. I usually depended on flashlights and small battery tea lights. I just purchased a set of battery candles also and some previously mentioned items in case the power grid ever goes down. I used to make homemade honey whole wheat bread all the time in the 70’s and 80’s using fresh yeast after taking a bread baking class. I plan to try it again soon, hopefully I still remember how! I would like to purchase some dried beans and am interested to learn to cook recipes with them. I also have seen several videos on how to grow potatoes in 20 gallon containers and would like to try carrots also and anything else possible. We are landscapers here in Florida. But haven’t really tried a food garden. We just grow herbs. I don’t know if this is possible now with hot weather coming by May . But I would like to know what I can grow here. I have only tried tomatoes in the spring and the plants didn’t last once the hot weather hit. We also have lots of critters: raccoons, moles, squirrels (that eat EVERYTHING including my hibiscus flowers) and dig in my potted plants. I agree with you that it is common sense to be prepared. Glad to have found your channel. 😊💕

I like to prep my pantry for anything that could happen. I grew up in a large family. My mom used to have us kids help with canning from our garden. She will buy extra food and can goods to place in hers pantry closet. When she see sales on meats, she buy it and place it hers deep freezer. My mom grew up during war time when food was ration. There were foods that you could not get because it was stock pile for our soldiers to provide for them. I just looks at it as a blessing to learn how to prep because you don't know what the future will have for us. Besides that I can give to my family when in need. My mother always said that you never know what tomorrow will bring. Just be prepared for the future. I remember as a child that the state that I lived in have a very bad snow storm. This storm shutdown majority of the state for over a week and you have to walk everywhere. The closest supermarket was about 3miles away from home. This maybe one of the reasons why my mom did what she did for her family.

Love you guys...My doomsday UNprepared event was a California earthquake, 6.9. What I had in my small food pantry was thrown into the middle of the kitchen. Broken bottles of oil, vinegar, catsup, and the like was 6" deep on the kitchen floor with every piece of glass I owned. To say I learned the hard way, was quite a learning experience. I wouldn't wish doomsday on anyone, but I'm grateful for the lesson. Be prepared folks!

I am not sure about Belgium but the new problem here is no canned tomatoes or tomato paste of any kind. Here too the prices are absolutely ridiculous. I almost fainted at the cost of 1 kg of mixed ground meat €9.18. We have expanded our garden as much as possible this year too. I plan on canning (pressure canning too) everything I can get out of my little garden. I pray for everyone out there that they wake up and realize what is happening. Very hard times are coming. I agree that stocking the pantry for a few months is just normal living. I’m 60 yo, and still many peers just don’t do that. I read Proverbs and other scriptures that exhort being prepared for lean times. I don’t understand the resistance to planning for challenges that routinely happen. Thank you for discussing this so well!

Yes! My favorite medical supplier is Refuge Medical, their profits go to getting kids out of child trafficking and into specialized rehab homes. Plus their prices are amazing and all made in the US and support many families. Their wound care bucket and Stop the bleed kit are the best deals but the individual first aid kit (ifak) are there most popular product. Also Jace Medical is a great way to get emergency antibiotics ahead of time, which is something the preparedness community has needed for a long time!

Lol. I used to buy 7 gallons of milk for 4 people weekly and need to buy a couple more gallons during the week when my kids were home. People would ask if if was having a party or donating it. Nope my kids and husband love milk, we don’t drink pop or juice. They love milk, they are farm kids but we don’t raise cows and our neighbors wouldn’t sell us raw milk even though my husband and I were raised on it from our farms. We grow our own vegies and fruit, I can and I hunt and process my own venison. I make my own noodles and bread. So I actually didn’t need to buy a lot in weekly groceries except for milk and a few basics butter, sugar! Flour and condiments. I am so proud to hear sensible people like you folks. I taught my children to be more self sufficient. I needed them to know how to process their own food for live to freezer. When my kids went to college my daughter had a small freezer in her dorm room and she had a crockpot. I would get her a deer and that is what she would eat. She had health issues eating the cafeteria food. She had frozen vegies and canned fruit. My son’s roommates in college couldn’t believe that he knew how to cook and clean. Lol. I also supplied them with homemade laundry soaps because it was so much cheaper. So you folks make me so proud that you are raising your children on how to be self sufficient. No one is going to 5pm e card of you. You need to take care of yourself so you can help others also. God Bless You!

This is really excellent. I live alone on my one acre homestead that I just acquired two years ago. I spent the last two years doing light renovations and making it ready for when I get older. I’m 64. I don’t have animals, I have bees, and my goal is to grow as much as I can. The winters are quite harsh, so it’s nothing for me to walk into Costco in the late fall and drop hundreds of dollars on a winter haul. It isn’t possible to grow everything and I don’t want to drive forty five minutes in a snowstorm to go to Napanee. 🇨🇦 I also want to can some meat products for when there are power failures. Sometimes storms come sweeping through here and they take down a lot of power lines. I am new here to your channel and I love this channel. Thanks for everything you do. Peace, love, and God bless you.

I have been watching your channel for just a few months and want to thank you for referencing our Lord and Savior! I enjoy watching your channel and the back-to-basics mentality that you share. I grew up with my parents growing most all of the veggies on the small lot we lived on. Mom canned or froze to preserve the garden food for the winter. Dad also got pigs a few times and we had backyard chickens sometimes as well. The Lord impressed me with such a sense of urgency in the fall of 2019 to start canning food that I bought on sale as we travel most every weekend for ministry and are never home to tend a garden. In August 2020 my husband lost his job. He still doesn't have a steady income but the Lord has provided!

One (9yo) is on the edge of the Autistic/Asperger's spectrum and has texture issues plus some of his likes and dislikes change frequently. We had to sit down and make a list of things to add to our stockpile that he never turns down. We haven't made that shopping trip yet, but will be soon. And of course, what was going to last us 2 a year or more is now cut in half or less, so we feel much less prepared than we did a month ago. Definitely will need to up our game a bit!

Hello Josh and Annie, we have always kept a stocked pantry but a few years ago we were in limbo for about 1 year between selling a house and renovating our little farm house to move back into so we used most of our stores during that time figuring I’d restock when we got settled in, well we got settled in and Covid happened…it was not a good feeling not having our pantry full so we got to work slowly and got it back to where we are comfortable with it, thank the Lord. I’ve also dove into learning how to can and put up everything I grow in the garden ( I love it, it’s very relaxing to me) I’ve really been enjoying all your videos, just pulled some crusty bread out of the oven 😊 so thank you for sharing ❤️

Growing up in a family of 8 with both parents living through the Great Depression, we always had a pantry stocked with several months or more food and supplies. Daddy worked for GM and when a strike was expected, they would increase the supplies even more. Eventually daddy made an extra pantry in the garage (insulated and heated with a single lightbulb) for mom’s annual canning- peaches, pears, green beans, tomatoes, etc. I have tried to always keep a month or more worth of food, but lately have been working toward a year or more of food and supplies, including seeds that can help keep us eating even if the food in the stores gets sparse. I have canned and dehydrated more in the last 6 months than I have in the last twenty years.
