This series aims to show a typical day of spotting, from Sunrise till Sunset, at popular UK locations around the network.
Episode 2: Acton Bridge
Located on the West Coast Main Line between Crewe and Warrington, this busy stretch of the WCML showcases the huge variety of freight workings up and down the line through this part of Cheshire. Always busy, always varied, this is one of the best spots on the network. The perfect place for another episode of 'Sunrise 2 Sunset'.
Filmed on October 31st, 2023.

- ROG 37608 on light engine moves
- Avanti still testing new 805 units
- Steel on Steel DB Class 60
- DCR Class 60 on the stone trains

Excellent video. Love going to Acton Bridge a couple of times a year, get some really good stuff. More in that 12 hours than we get in a month 😂😂. Next location idea: maybe somewhere on the erewash valley near Toton or further down the mml like Leicester.

Haha yeah mate literally! I’d really like to do Toton and get up on the banking, think it would make a really good episode thanks for the tip. Loads of places I’d like to do on the MML, Chesterfield is on my list too.

Acton Bridge normally comes alive for freight when every bugger's gone home cos its been too cold, wet, windy or just plain dead! Looked like an average day for freight. You can be lucky some days. Nice to see Trev in the background. Thanks for the video. Steve

Another really good one Luke, loved the 60's too, but the 37 was a real highlight! Only just watching as I've been away for the weekend and came back with a horrible stomach bug so the vid has cheered me up a bit ! 😊Keith

Another enjoyable video Luke. I loved the slow mo bit and the interesting different angle shots too. I look forward with interest to your next sunrise to sunset shoot and of course the next 24 hour location as well. Hope you pick up some warm winter clothing for those. Thanks for braving the weather Luke for some great footage. Sunrise to sunset works for me, but for the 24 hours location is probably more important for the long dark nights. Looking forward to the next video 👍

Cheers Andy, you’re exactly right, the 24 hour vids have to be carefully chosen and researched to have a solid plan for overnight, especially at places that don’t allow you to stay through the night. Thanks for the support as always mate.

Thanks the suggestion mate, it was originally right up on my list for 24 hour special but I think it would work better for an ‘S2S’ 👍🏻

@@DiggleJunction obviously the west coast is the place for freight in numbers but Barneteby as a very good variety of loco classes. 56, 60,70,66, and even 37, on Rhett.

I can’t remember off the top of my head to be honest Normal but I’d say up to Preston then left across the Northern Lines to BPL.

The cam is a supplement to the main videos of the channel so people can see any special workings live, or just a place to chat and ask me questions, which most people seem to enjoy. I live there.

If only that were true mate, I have a normal full time job too, this is just a hobby. My kind of numbers pay for the odd trip out but it’s mostly done out of my own pocket because I enjoy it.
