Its so true well said, I tried a JP150 out at L&M, love the neck, hate where they located the toggle switch. Constantly knocking it with my hand and fingers, why MusicMan why????
Haha the guitar is made in John's spesifications and I guess he loves the switch so close to the strings. I don't hit it that often, but also wouldn't mind it would be a bit further away.
I have a JP157 with illuminators that feels/sounds great. Is it as good as my MM? No. lol I couldn't imagine paying what they are asking for these now. I played a ton of Ibanez, etc just like you and then started building Partscasters and found that my preferences changed so drastically. Feel changes over time and if you feel like a guitar isn't right in your hands, sell it.
Different guitars for different purposes, except Telecasters for every purpose. Some people are just way way more into gear wanking, it's in their head.
I remember when I sold my Jackson RR Pro (1990). I was shocked how fast I got over it. That MG-30 sure sounds killer! I've fallen back in love with my Mighty Plug after a firmware update. The V412 now actually sounds like a V30 and now I don't crave for the ability to upload 3rd party IRs. Do you rock the stock cabs too Vlad? Happy guitar selling!
If there's a guitar I regret selling it's the Charvel San Dimas 1996. That guitar would be perfect for my needs and current preferences. But I guess it's a journey we all have to take :/ The MG-30 is great! I did try some 3rd party IR's with it but went back to the stock ones. They are actually really good and the upcoming song I plan to release is full of stock MG-30 sounds. This is what presets on device like this should be. And thanks!
