the apartment I lived in most of college in West Virginia (‘10-14) had almost that identical bathroom set and I used to study in the tub and listen to a 90s station and pretend I was going to college in the 90s 😅
Don’t forget specificially: -CARPET IN THE BATHROOM (urgh!) -the crazy carpets full of weird squares and patterns that you could make up games with (a carpet do old that if you took your shoes off, the common phrase of ‘don’t run around in your stocking feet, your socks will get dirty’ would be said.) -A coffee percolator that they were bought in the 80’s and never used but proudly displayed. -The coffee table that had four smaller tables that slid from underneath on runners and where death traps for fingers when you were trying to put them up.
Nesting tables (and Werthers Originals) are still a good thing... The rest however 🤢 I had the equal horror/joy of ripping those dingey bathroom carpets out at my Mum's and Nanna's houses. The "champagne" (beige, not avocado) bathtub, sink and toilet sets still remain. 😂 The hideous sofa&chair sets only went about 15years ago though, and the awful 70s kitchens were redone 8years ago (at last!!) I've been gradually repainting, and replacing carpets one room at a time over the years too 😅 ... Good thing Nanna taught me to maintain & redecorate our homes. There's a lot to be said for 50s housewife SKILLS!
ALL OF THEM where present in my life, except the living room- both sets of grandparents had more modern living rooms, though my nan’s back room and carpet had the diabolical carpet we used to play draughts on as a kid. My nan and grandad had the clock, my parents house had the bathroom but in AVOCADO, both nana and grandad, and my gran and ga-ga had a massive stereo each consisting of four separate units like you showed, my ga-ga being a coeliac found werthers to be the only gluten free sweet back in the day and so always had bags of them and my gran had the creepy toilet roll dolly that she had croqueted herself. Only it was tall enough for three rolls somehow. All remained until my grandparents deaths last year, though my parents hot rid of the avocardo bathroom suit years ago.
Yep, I had to rip those mouldy (and heck knows what else) carpets out of my Nanna's and mum's bathrooms 🤢 They won't make a comeback even if the avocado/champagne bathtubs do 😂
My grandparents had, the caramels, those strawberry candies no one knows the name of, a dome clock, and a room that every one calls the nursery even though it's not.
My grandad had a huge grandfather clock in the living room because he used to make them 😂 and my granny used to crochet loads, so there was always crocheted pillows and knitted blankets ♥️
How are your videos always so creepily accurate. I feel like I got transported back to the 90s seeing that green bathroom and toilet roll holder lady. I'm wondering if I ever knew thats what the lady was for..
My grandparents were rich so the only things on that list they had was the stereo which was actually in an upstairs bedroom because they had speakers throughout their whole house attached to the stereo. Also My grandmother occasionally had Werthers original but usually she had M&Ms. My dad was a Chocolate lover so she kept chocolate around for her baby boy.
My nan on my mums side had the clock the stereo system and a shocking sofa but not the rest my nan on my dad's side had the toilet doll she still does and she makes them lol
I didn’t grow up in the 90s but my great grandparents had the dome clock, big stereo, very weird flower pattern carpet and THERE WAS CARPET IN THE BATHROOM 💀
Sadly I was homeless in the 90s (born in 1988) so I didn’t have much of a life back then and my grandma died from starvation in 1974 according to my mother.. however now I’m doing well and have an amazing wife with our 2nd child on the way.!
My grandma and Grandad had the sweets always in the fridge and the clock with the dome I never touched it I don’t know why but it was always there I thought it was really cool tho
I have one of those clocks from my great granddads house, we had to clean out his house when he died and we got a lot of stuff, and his wife was well obsessed with dolphins. So the clock has dolphins that spin on the bottom when it works (hard to get the clock to work) I also got a dolphin snowglobe with yellow water lmao
The only one they didn't have was the a sound system. Also I think the bathroom was pink rather than green, but the same style and era as the green one.
I grew up in the early 2000s and I'm so happy to have grown up with box tvs, DVDs, Dora, and the werthers original caramel hard candy as well as those unnamed strawberry ones
I grew up with my Nan. She had some of this stuff but thought she had wayyyy more fashion. She’d have burned that living room ngl And bear in mind this was early 2000’s with a nan that hated the colour green and thought cream and light blue were the BEST colour combination.
