They have respect but they have their fair share of bad history. For example during the British Raj they were favoured for business and trade deals and sided with them ( generally lighter skin tone and western mannerisms ) and Tatas ancestors build their fortunes selling Opium to fuel the destruction of China during the Opium war.
Parsis are one of the most progressive and friendly communities in India. During my college days I had the opportunity of attending the chamber of an eminent Lawyer who was Parsi, a thorough gentleman and super cool person. He had a friend called "Patlu" who was almost a mammoth!
@@vladivostok853 Yes, they are so friendly that they don't want non-parsis to live anywhere near them. They are known for their honesty and kindness to strangers. However, they are fiercely protective of their own culture and traditions and are unwilling to compromise on them. They often reject the idea of living with people from other backgrounds.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
One of the sweetest communities we are blessed with. I haven't met even a single Parsi till date, however their portrayal speaks everything about them. And yes, when it comes to Parsis they're the true nation builders. Really liked the video.❤👍
Did I say they do not contribute? But first you need to get opportunities to prosper which they got in here or else we all know how they'd be finished off and no one would even bother to look at that history and literally everyone is respectful to them here this is just a faltu content for a series.
One of the most successful community in India.... came 2 india during islamic invasion... But population is falling fast, Indian govt in giving financial benifits to the community 2 encourage them 2 have more kids
Parsis are so rare..that I haven't in my 29 yrs of life actually been friends with or not sure even talked to them yet..might have passed by or something. But nothing more than that...it's actually weird 😂
I’m from Bengaluru, I remember meeting 3 ultra cute, light brown haired, pinkish complexioned 3-year-old triplet children (2boys and 1girl) during my daily walk. These kids and their parents looked slightly different from the rest of the crowd. And the kids had Persian names, so I thought they were Muslims and my grandad told me these kids are Iranis but from Bombay. I was too young, I didn’t know anything about parsees. Now whenever I hear anything about parsees, those cute kids are the first ones that come to my mind.
Why are people not talking about how cute this guy is. ❤️ Edit : Some replies to this comment are exactly what’s wrong with the society. Appreciating someone’s looks doesn’t equate to anything else.
Parsis are not the only Zoarastrians. In India, the Zoarastrians comes from two communities. One is parsis and other is Iranis. Zoarastrian parsis like Ratan Tata, Jamshedji tata, Tara sutaria, and Zoarastrian iranis like Boman Irani, Cyrus poonewala
Ironically, Im parsi but whenever an iranian asks where im from, and i tell them india, they start talking like a stereotypical scam caller. never seen a respectful iranian.
Fun fact : There was another group of Parsis from the royal *"House of Sasan"* which went all the way to China as well the whole family, court and nobles of the Last Zoroastrian Shahenshah of Sassanid Persia "Piroz III" ended up in Chinese Tang Dynasty capital Chang'an in year 662 CE "Narseh" the son of Piroz III even tried to take back the now conquered *_Sassanian empire_* from the Umayyad Caliphate with the help of Chinese but failed due to other issues within china like the Turk invasion of China some sources says that those Zoroastrians lived in Tang China for about 100 years after which huge civil war break out in China known as the "An Lushan rebellion" of 755 CE. In which many Zoroastrian died side by side with the Chinese in that civil war campaign rogue general An Lushan and his son was defeated and the peace prevailed status and stories of the Persians that helped China in that rebellion are still popular in China today and after this rebellion some Persians even ended up to Korea and Japan.
Well Average Iranians don't look very good looking like this guy . Because modern Iranians are mixture of multiple ethnicities especially Arabs. But these parsis ore genuine people of old persia .they much look like Kurdish people
@@sassaniandynasty3796 I kind of knew it that when you were talking about Parsis being attractive, you were actually talking about their light skin. I don't know when South Asians would give up their obsession of fair skin..
Movies have fed us a certain stereotypical version of Parsi people, though they are completely different people in person. Not every Parsi wears a cap, runs a shop of Irani chai, and says "Dikro" Stereotypes, man.
Really couldn’t initially relate to the joke about Parsis still existing because I’m in a Parsi school and trust me, all Parsis I know are very sweet and also, I know many Parsis so I’m not wrong
Parsi helped Chatrapati Shivaji maharaj against mughals they provided secret trade info of mughals as parsis are trading community back then. As a marathi i will never mock any parsi ❤
Bollywood gave this misconception 😢 Parsis have done lot lot and lot to develop the india 🇮🇳... thank you so much...thank once again my parsi friends...and once again thank you
I love Persis .they are so beautiful from heart and so beautiful look..I from Kolkata I relish from Nahums and soda bottle openarwala ,their eggs recipes are delicious egg halwa patrani machli and berry polau awesome..they are sugar in milk without them we are incomplete 🧿💝my love to all Persis who spreads love and respect to us
A Real cute video and an eye opener by Netflix about information on Parsis. I have not come across anyone known to me who have not encountered meeting another Parsi / Irani Bawa right from their childhood to their adult age either in form of studying in a Parsi school or having a Parsi Friend at work. Long Live Parsis !!!!
I am from Jammoo Kashimeer and my ancestors were Paarsees of Iraan,Who thousands of years settled in Kashimeer and converted to Budhdhhism and Sanaathan Dhharm and some Paarsees became Kashimeeree Budhdhhists and some Paarses became Kashimeeree Sanaathanee Hindhoos and among Sanaathanee Hindhoos, some became Sanaathanee Hindhoo Braahmann Panndiths and some became Sanaathanee Hindhoo Kshathriyas and some became Sanaathanee Hindhoo Raajpooths and some became Sanaathanee Hindhoo Jaats and some became Sanaathanee Hindhoo Vaishyas. So Braahmann Panndith Sanaathanee Hindhoos of Jammoo,Kashimeer,Peer Panjaal and Chinaab Valley are Iraanian Zorastrian Paarsee Sanaathanee Hindhoos of Jammoo,Kashimeer,Peer Panjaal and Chinaab Valley.
Good one to enjoy! Need to add one more stereotype about us being Fire Worshippers which means our God is Fire instead of Ahuramazda (jWise Creator) to whom we pray facing a source of light (Sun, Moon, Stars, candle,, wood fire, electric light, etc. Regards, Maneck Bhujwala
I know God equivalent is Ahur Mazda and Satan equivalent is Angra Manue. Right Anyhow Historically Vedic followers and Zoroastrians were together for ages and slowly became enemies of each other. Ahur (Sankrit Asur) are divine in Zoroastrians and villians Vedic literature while Devas (Deoas in Avestan texts) are divine in Vedic literature and semi villians in Avestan literature. It's actually kind of cute that after staying together for ages, separating after some enimity, both the communities reunited after over 3 millennia and are now actually respectful to each other. Don't take it otherwise just your comment made me think so
Boman Irani is technically not Parsi but Irani. His ancestors migrated to India much after the Parsis. His family follows the Qadimi calendar not that if the Parsis. Likewise the rituals and prayers followed by and commissioned by his family would be in accordance with the Qadimi tradition not the Parsi.
@@cyrusirani5080 yes its westernised and i like the name, im from Canada and i see some people who aren't Persian here with that name. Even the American movie 300 they were calling the Persian King Xerxes but his name is actually خشایار شاه Khashayarsha. My Uncles name Kourosh.
The Parsis, are the most Respectful, Beautiful and Hardworking community in India. The contributions of Parsis in Economy, Independence, Industrializations; etc are so much. It's undoubtedly the most Educated & Mannerful community to India. The migration of them to India from Persia, their holdn positions at high levels in British Administration during British Raj, their protests & non- violence movements to protect Enviornment, Wildlife, Nature, Humans Rights; etc in giving back to the less fortunate & society for it's Growth & Prosperity. Today, cuz of multiple non- profit organizations runned by Parisis are playing a very incredible & significant role in bring a Balance in the society, that shall lead us & create a Safe, Secured & Prosperous future for our Nation, Society & Upcoming generations. Love you all. 🤍🤍🤍
I love Paris not becoz they contributed through industrialists but there social work and contribution in developing Indias Institute whether TIFR, TISS etc. There are few Business men and Industrialists who developed institutions Tata and Birla(marwadi) are most respected in my view.
The word BAWA JI originated as a mark of respect. Sorry to say but we Parsees are ourselves to blame for portraying our community as stupid and funny in movies and making stupid videos. Instead of bringing out our good points and behaving naturally directors of movie use us to make others laugh. Hv u ever seen other communities being made a laughing stock?. We Parsees should be proud of our heritage and we are blessed to be born as a parsee.
Bruh they never made fun of parsees, even if they did, majority of Indian population believes that parsees are super rich and are very friendly towards other community, as well as they remember how we parsees helped the country grow in various sectors.
I've never ever heard about parsis being stereotyped never, parsis, bohora muslima, jains, Jews maybe are most respected communities in India as they never get involve in unnecessary arguments over religion even after being minority they are the most prosperous communities I love parsis
Just asking but I thought that the Christians were responsible for that.......you know......I mean weren't they too as educated as the parsis?.....again, just asking
@@pawanshetty6502 but aren't they responsible for their education and healthcare work. I heard that from 40s to the 70s it were the Christian convent schools mostly responsible for bringing English language to india. Plus just because they are converted doesn't mean they can't form their community. Again I am just curious so feel free to correct me. I heard that Christian are well educated well mannered people that's why I am curious.
@@smithjohncolaco2287 Christian were Britishers who came to India in year 1608 while Parsis came to India in 8th century or 10th century . As they came from west , they were the first to gave us their western culture and made india more diverse 🇮🇳🇮🇳🤗
Yes Parsi population was decreasing in India till 2011. But since the Indian government of minority affairs made the scheme of "jiyo parsee" it actually brought a positive outcome of India's Parsi population that from 2011 to 2019, Parsi population had seen the all time highest growth of 2.13%... following up the previous trend Parsi population was growth was in minus since 1950 looking at the census. It was the first time in 2019, it's population growth showed +2.13% growth with total Parsi population of 70,000 to 71,000 in India
I THINK TILL TODAY NOT A SINGLE GREVANCE PUT TO TAKE THE ADVANTAGES IN THE NAME OF MINORITY COMMUNITY & ONTHE OTHER HAND PARSIS' CONTRIBUTIONS TOWARDS THE PR0SPERITY ON INDIAN ECONOMY & OTHER AREAS ARE VERY SPECIAL INDEED...BUSINESS, EDUCATION, SCIENCE, INDUSTRY, FILM,POLITICS, FREEDOM FIGHTING, GAMES, ART AD WORLD ETC. MY SALUTE WITH DEEP REGARDS TO THIS GREAT COMMUNITY. 💐🙏🙏🙏
What a ripoff. I’m a Parsi and am happy to pass this as a joke as it didn’t make any sense but making it sound that we are stupid. Will any other community take this sportingly? Lastly I’m proud to be called a Bawa we are unique different and special. So cheers we don’t take this seriously!
Parsis are the most humble, educated and peace loving community. They have only contributed for the betterment of our country. I have never heard whether they have created ruckus or spread any kind of negativity in the society. There is nothing funny in making mockery of their "Walla" surnames. They have given us gems like Jametji Tata, Ratan Tata, Homi J. Bhabha, Sam Manekshaw, Nani Palkhiwala, Cyrus Poonawala etc... 🇮🇳 ❤
If we study a bit about the theology of the Zorastrians we will definitely know why they are so good people. Unfortunately thats why they are so reduced in numbers now. Because they are actually good people. 2nd ofcourse Hindus are reducing. And funfact Zorastrians have few similrities with our Sanatan theology also. Few.
@@hanuuhanooo7111Lol yiddish.Avesten is more similar to sanskrit when parsis came from Iran to India they used sanskrit to revive their old avesten script as they both were very similar
