There is just no one like you on RU-vid. I love that you haven’t taken on the “RU-vid speak” where everyone speaks with the same inflections. You are so soft and calming yet can invoke excitement at the same time. I love your smiling eyes and complete authenticity.
@Bailey G I absolutely concur with you. Audrey is a cut above the rest and very inspiring in many ways 💗⚘ There's much to gain by watching and listening to her own realizations, ideas and suggestions. Watching & listening to her is so soothing & refreshing. It's obvious she's very authentic, sweet natured and kind ~ it's reflected to us through her videos 💗🌸
Her voice used to annoy me tremendously, but not anymore. Sometimes people use a voice like that to be snobs toward people who are naturally more expressive, but she's being herself naturally, so it's nice.
What makes Audrey a cut above and an exceptional Fashionista is precisely what she said in this video: ‘learning to dress in harmony with what makes us unique'....Audrey shares her personal experience in ways that allows each of us to draw wisdom and inspiration from her yet develop our own style and pick and choose for ourselves not like mainstream 'sheeple' ...Audrey is not pushing anything; any item, silhouette or color....true guidance and insight.....a most extraordinary Fashionista and Influencer.....truly a cut above....
So true. I stopped all blogs / most vlogs because everyone is pushing the same mostly GIFTED items from stores that claim to be 'sustainable' when they're not. It's all Ego based an little to no true creativity.
You are my favorite RU-vidr, Audrey! It’s so nice to meet people who are still classic, gentle and feminine. I feel that this world tries to turn us bitter and rude to one another.
I agree with you about getting dressed everyday, even if it is a just a nice top and joggers. I do this everyday including putting on make up. It makes me feel more like myself, and more productive. I always dress on Sundays even though I am not going to church or visit friends or/and relatives. I just don't want to get into bad habits during the pandemic. The only time I wear full on sweats pants and tops are when I am washing floors and bathrooms, polishing silverware or making tomato sauce (after those tasks, I take a shower and get dressed again). I also started out my life wearing black, navy, burgundy, and neutrals like you, but little by little as I moved into middle age I started adding colors like forest green and pastel blues, greens and pinks. I think the tendency toward more feminine styles is just in the air right now with romantic ruffles and sweetheart necklines. I have found myself, this past year or so, purchasing more dresses and flouncy romantic skirts. I also think that by moving to South Carolina this has influenced your style. I use to do a lot of business travel and my dark suits weren't acceptable in the South. The longer I worked and traveled in the South, the more I shopped for lighter colored clothing and dresses. However, I found that when I brought these items and colors back to Boston, they just wouldn't fly in the office, so I only wore them when traveling to the South or on vacation. Thank you, Audrey.
I love that you mentioned tailoring. Ive spent a small fortune (by my standards) during lockdown getting clothes tailored so that this caterpillar emerges as a butterfly once this time is over.
Realizing that my hair is a key accessory that can change my outfit was a game changer for me this last year. I can take classic piece of clothing and make it look vintage or modern just by the way I wear my hair. It’s funny how we don’t consider our hair as a key accessory.
I’ve always worn dresses just like my mother did. Someone told me one time that they didn’t want someone to be able to measure the circumference of their thighs. LOL! So true! Dresses cover up, especially if you’re not thin. Always love feeling feminine slightly a notch up, and especially since it seems society is getting more and more casual in their dress.
It's so reassuring to hear that you haven't been dressing every day too because you always seem so well put together. In readiness for lockdown ended, I have photographed all my clothes on white backgrounds and used them to build a catalogue of outfits so am not starting from scratch every day and don't have to think so much and can also capture a good outfit.
You should try Stylebook! That’s what they do and there are so many amazing features that help you make outfits, remember outfits, save inspiration images, get stats on number of wears and so many things like that. I’ve been using it for years and I love it. It’s so fun to be able to put outfits together and see your closet without being there. Totally worth the $5 or whatever it is because I’ve saved so much money with the things I’ve learned from it.
@ITIEL Lucia Oh yes, it's clear she's an artist and singer and realizes that voice is powerful. As well, she knows that many of us are tired of loud and noisy channels that distract from the message. I really appreciate that. Finally, fashion is form of art and presentation is so important, which is true for all art, including architecture and music. Well done, Audrey!
Hey everyone! Her voice is what drew me to watch her channel, as the first video i saw from her is how to improve your voice. She is an opera singer. i wish my voice was as beutiful as hers but i like to think it has improved!
Audrey please do a video on how to tailor your clothes to your body type? When I go to the tailor they always ask how do you want this done. I just have no idea to make it look good on me eeek
I have been wondering the same thing! I have always wanted a tailor who just knows what to do and who I can trust to be right, but so far I've never had one who takes the lead. They want me to tell them what I want and sometimes I'm really just not quite sure. Audrey, this would be a much-appreciated video if you could make it!
"I love the idea of dressing in harmony with what makes us unique".....I do too, Audrey!....yes, you've found your cliche....wonderful!...I took the Kibbe test, again .... at 63, ( I know that's old!)...but I've always cared about my impression, appearance, even if I'm not collaborating with anyone I know on a daily basis... One test said, I was a Classic, one, a Romantic....now to find a comfortable expression of them both, in a casual lifestyle...love you, beautiful young lady!
I too am coming up 63 and having been following this beautiful child for many years now...I was told years ago that I am also a Classic/Romantic but given the better 'quiz'...found myself to be more the newly labelled Soft Classic...back in the day I had a very narrow waist and so likely more romantic but lets face it age and waist size are a THING? LOL...I am no longer tiny but normal...LOL...if that is a thing....sounds like we are similar...LOL....this is a fun ride even at our tender age.....Enjoy..
I am 30 I don’t believe in trends just what works or not with our individual aesthetic. Been following Audrey for years. Great to know there is more people here who love the beautiful classy style ❤️
My favorite way to do that is wearing a maxi dress or skirt outfit with my two pairs of Dr. Marten's or many similar style boots (which I have lots of solid colors and patterns. 😁). Typical working outside our home outfits for me now... 😁
It’s a look I’ve always worn & loved-the 90’s Cornell style dresses with denim jacket & boots- the most comfortable era. I’m petite & never fit pants or jeans. I only wear low chunky ish heels if I have to wear something dressy. I have always hated heels & pointy toes, so have never worn them. I just love warm stretchy tights from this era! Have always worn tights. Always shopped vintage which was especially great as a young art student in the ‘60’s.
Miss Audrey is such an elegant lady. I fall in love with her style and, yes, herself lol. And i love hearing her voice, can literally fall asleep hearing her talking.
Sorry about the interruption, as I was saying, petite women have to dress “lighter” then taller women. I love the current trends toward crochet and lace, peasant tops in light weight fabrics and closer fitting pants, not exactly leggings but slower fitting. My color is disappearing as my dark blond hair grays, so I mostly like more pastel color pallets. I also have a resolution for 2021 to get dressed every day . I am disabled, so over the years, I find I often wear pajamas or lounge clothes all day. Thank you for your inspirations!
With grey hair growing out massively I actually doubled up on saturated colours instead of pastels. Contrast adds to personality, as I feel that pastels washes one out when grey hair appear..
If one knows their correct color season & shops within those colors, everything will mix & match, plus you'll look your best, never just ok. Resist marketing's urges to buy a color they've decided to feature. If it's not a flattering color, you won't look great, even if it is a current fashion color.
Yes, it was a game changer. If everything in my closet is in my seasonal colour palette- everything matches with everything. No need to think what to wear- just put on whatever, even if there are 5 colours in the outfit- it matches! Even the drying rack looks like a piece of painting because of how all of these different colous look so stunning together.
@@hodgeelmwood8677 color seasons isn't marketing, they're not a company selling something, its a technique. and there's science to it. its called color theory,
This took me back to my fashion days, making mood boards and designing. I’m so inspired! You have such a peaceful presence. Thank you for sharing 😌🧚🏼♀️
Can you do a most worn items video? Have you ever tried a wardrobe manager app? Love the blue sweater it looks like a blouse on video! You could do an outfits video featuring that sweater.
OMG you pretty Lille thing! I am so glad to have a petite role model. I am 5’2” and 71 years old, so my style has to be somewhat different then yours is at your age. Still, petite women of any age can’t dress like taller more stately
I'm right behind you, I am not petite, nor dainty, but I am 70 and love Audrey Coyne. I'm guessing not too may ladies our age follow she is such an inspiration. I love the simplicity of style, it really works for me.
I love the idea of classics paired with something unexpected. I really enjoy these wardrobe planning videos! You have such a soothing presence and I love that you focus on what makes you feel great. Very inspiring!
Yes, yes, yes! I’m so glad you’ve embraced all the new things for you for 2021. I can see them all working so well. I look forward to seeing more videos along these lines for my own inspiration. Thank you for sharing.
The most inspiring thing is to see you how your taste has evolved. It looks like getting to know your personal style is something to be explored and discovered over time and through changes or just by simply observing.
it's so lovely to see how your style is changing and evolving! it gives us the "missing boost" to finally de clutter our final pieces and embrace our true own styles 💙
You have just described the way I dress. My favorite is to wear a flowy silk dress with a leather moto jacket. You are going to have so much fun this year with all of your new ideas for wardrobe planning! Please post pictures of yourself in these outfits in future videos.
Hi Audrey, your ‘series’ of your wardrobe analysis is refreshing and practical! I have black hair and darker skin than you do and I wear pastel and cream colours to create that sense of ‘warmth’ during the long winters here in Canada. I am so pleased that I had invested in good quality sweaters including cashmere sweaters from previous years. Similarly my simple gold jewellery brighten up darker tops . All these items cheer me up and others(received compliments) on those never ending zoom meetings ! Stay safe! ❤️🇨🇦🌞
Hi Audrey, A lovely video today, loved the looks you showed, one that really stood out and you looked amazing in was the black and white outfit with the black and white brogues! Thanks so much for the inspiration, I am saving up for a body typing analysis - very excited 😆 have a fab week 🥰
Absolutely loving the direction that your style is taking! Yes to the ethereal vibe and playing with colors. Classic yes, but with a twist! A lot of us have been stuck on the classic neutral timeless train and I hope you inspire many with your goal of a unique style!
Audrey I love your videos and this is no exception. I'd love a video on summer layering because of air conditioning. Post Covid I'll be back in the office and I always struggle in the summer to balance the chill and how warm it is outside. For some reason I have no problem layering in winter but can't seem to make it work in warmer weather. I know that it will be a while until those of us fortunate to work at home are back in the office but I'm trying to focus on buying second hand and that takes time. Thanks again for the great videos!
It is fun hearing about your journey being affected by your location. Due to circumstances, I have lived in every region the US has to offer. Each and every region ends up with a completely different wardrobe depending on; temperature, humidity and general lifestyle in that region. That being said, I have learned never to get rid of accessories, as I always come back to them (eventually)
I'm sure you've heard this before, but you are stunning! Elegant, soft spoken, charismatic, sweet. What a change from the rude burping, cursing, & slouching of many young women today. You are absolutely delightful. I love the way you look in dresses...great choice for you. I've predominantly worn dresses my whole life...in college, a boy asked my friend if I had something wrong with my legs because he'd never seen me in pants or shorts! Haha! Well, I'm 64 now and still wearing flowy skirts and dresses...as you say, they are "air conditioned" and comfortable...just what I need here in Texas. Your videos are marvelous ♥
I'm really looking forward to seeing you explore and develop your own version of 'classic with a twist' Audrey. I've been told that this is is how I typically dress and can see that you'll be great at it. I'm sure you'll have a lot of fun with it!
Fellow Gamine here - floaty fem dresses with something tough is very gamine! I always enjoy your videos even though your style and mine are nothing alike. I"m not happy unless I'm wearing a bold print with both warm and cool colours. Always fun to hear you talk about your process and thoughts!
I think you would look incredible with a wavy bob like so many of your inspiration photos showed! I love them and think they are always so fresh and easy while still making a strong statement. And they’re just so good on Gamine types.
Good morning! So, I would really like to hear your comments about how you would appreciate a man to dress. My wife and I live in a rural area where dressing well is not the norm. But I love my fashion, my cologne, being clean shaven, etc. Recently I’ve been seen dressed like a farmhand and I feel I’m being sucked into some lifeless fashion vortex mostly due to pandemic restrictions. Please help 😁
Ismael, I think many of us are being sucked in into that slightly-slovenly vortex because we have nowhere to go. Looking like a farmhand is appropriate when you're working on a farm. We need to make a concerted effort to not lose ourselves to the "who cares" forces! I've made a pact with myself that I will wear a good looking outfit, jewelry, makeup, and perfume at least once a week, when I have to run errands. And I wear a button down shirt, a nice sweater, or a bold necklace to take the million videoconference calls I have every week. I appreciate people who dress well, and that includes men. In fact, I think I appreciate a man who cares about such details much more than I notice it on women, maybe because society "expects" women to put a lot of effort on their appearance while giving men more of a pass. So, when a man picks a tie with care, or makes sure his hair and hands look good, or wears cufflinks, or makes sure his shoes are properly buffed, or throws a sports jacket on a jeans and shirt combo...it's like a man who enjoys cooking: major bonus points! So, if you ask me, do go back to dressing well, even if it's a couple of days a week. Make a plan with the wife to get gussied up on a Saturday night to watch an old movie. Even if you're wearing slippers, put on the belt and wear the cologne! And take pictures of yourselves to document your pandemic days. Hopefully this will be over soon, and you'll have those to look back to and remember how we tried to cope with these sad days. We have to find comfort and beauty anywhere we can! (PS--My father's name is Ismael.
Working from home makes us lazy and give up on trying to look fashionable. My husband and I decided to dress up at least once a weak to boost our mood and simply because we deserve to look our best once in a while.
For menswear inspiration I recommend Dandy Wellington. He ist Just a Style Icon! He has a very excentric style but you can choose only one detail from his outfits and it may change your outfit completely 😅 you can find Dandy Wellington is on RU-vid and Instagram. Good luck 😊
@@kupaadop Thank you very much. This time I need to know specifically what women appreciate. I’ve noticed most of the RU-vid channels really ignore a woman’s opinion, a mature woman with class and real style. I can find a million under 30 young ladies that just don’t have enough life experience for me to value or sometimes understand their opinions. I’m just not that interested in someone who is just dressing someone rather showing what women find attractive - women - not the girls at the mall. 😌 There are several prominent women on RU-vid that discuss women’s style and fashion, but what are they looking for in men? I find it hard to believe that women like this would ever be seen in public with a man on their arm that really doesn’t compliment their own style and elegance. 🙂👍
@@thetomasloretta sorry, I misunderstood. I thought you were asking for general inspiration for menswear. My general thought about clothing, style and attraction is that people - no matter which gender or what they exactly wear - look the most attractive when they feel good in the clothes they wear. Maybe this does not seem very helpful but it's real: when you feel good in what you wear others will recognise you. Finding out which clothes you feel good in is a journey which requires a lot of testing out different cuts, colors and sizes. As one of those under 30 girls 😉 I suggest to begin with the very basics: Finding out about the personal body shape, skin under tone an then think about which garments fit your lifestyle (activities, weather, environment and so on). To keep it simple appreciate a well fitting shirt made of high quality cotton combined with midrise straight leg pants (If jeans only slightly washed) and matching leather belt and shoes (without any decoration seams) 😊.
Hi Audrey, I needed to tell you that I am extremely happy that I found your youtube chanel! Ever since I watch your videos, I have got lots of inspiration from all the good and useful tips you share. You give me the right "tools" and understanding of a correct and smart proces of shopping, without pushing me to buy any particular brand or style, but help me instead, to uncover my own, what works for me. Thank you for making these excellent videos!! And as a bonus, I always feel so relaxed and happy when I hear your voice, and you have a nice aura (if that's the way to say it :D ) Another thing, English is not my nativ language, however, I have learned quite some on my own, but I realise how nice, how enriching is to listen to you and to read your blog! you can really tell when a person reads a lot. So I don't only learn to discover my own style with your help, but I also expand my vocabulary! MIL GRACIAS! :D Warm greetings from a mexican living in Denmark
I love classic pieces with colourful sports shoes and sports bags rack breaks. I've been practising this for 1-2 years and it makes me feel modern. In classic pure you often look a bit boring and older.
I’m a new follower and I have to say I love you and your content SO MUCH. We align so much in the way we view clothing/fashion/style and I’ve been really thoroughly enjoying watching your videos!
Now I'm thankful to back to working at a new job [after years of job searching while being at home and volunteering (both wonderful things!)], it's fun to create different and business-appropriate outfits with my vast wardrobe and accessories/shoes/boots collections. Add to the fact that we're mid-Winter in SE Michigan... Thanks, Audrey, for yet another video. This made me smile seeing this today. 😁❤️
I agree about tailoring! It can help anything “off rack”look so much better when the fit is specific to you. After being home-locked for the past year I found myself becoming more and more lax in my style of dress But if I’m not doing it to help myself and those I live with feel inspired, who have I been saving it for? It’s very warm here and I had added many dresses for day wear going out. I’m of a Bohemian, flow-y aesthetic and found that maxi dresses with a bit of jewelry help me feel pretty, comfortable and happy about myself. I’m more motivated to get things done when I dress for the day. 😇
I love fashion and I love looking nice. I get dressed nicely everyday, I try, even if work area is not something to get dressed to. Our business is a laundry shop. I work at the office. I put on make up every day, dress nicely just to have that feeling of normalcy 🤗
I am adding dresses now. I feel a strength in the soft feminine lines of a dress that tenderly flows. To me it takes a kind of bravery to embrace a dress that softens the appearance and creates a gentle tender and in a way, vulnerable look with nothing to weigh it down. Dresses tend to be more free moving and I think it takes a bit to get used to after wearing pants and shirts our whole life haha at least for me ;)
Great video, because of the idea of being "more open to new styles, ideas, etc." which I have problem with. I do tend to be very classic and that is my comfort zone, it is so easy for me.
I love hearing your plan for 2021. I love your expression 'inviting color into my wardrobe'! I love color but recently discovered I have invited BLUE too many times into my wardrobe!!
It's so interesting that there are pictures of women with your exact complexion and hair in pale colored clothing but you never saw it for yourself until now. I love that about life... that we can change and adapt and find new things/ways to love.
The description of your current style (slightly ethereal, with light colors near the face and some edginess) is very close to how I would describe my current style leanings, too. Even more excited to see what you wear this year!
I started my capsule wardrobe at the end of 2020 and I finally found my personal style through the process! And found my go-to brand, which is Doen. ✨😁 I am about 85% done with my capsule wardrobe. Can't wait for it to be completed! Through the capsule wardrobe process, I also learned what honors my body shape the best and that accentuates what is unique about me.😁 If you need or want any help on your capsule wardrobe journey, let me know!
Hi Audrey! I recently found out your channel and I wanted to say that this video was really inspiring. To be open to change is one of my goals for this year, and manifesting that through fashion seems very positive! :) oh, and I love the Pinterest tip!
I love your videos, your voice and the way you explain your content. Thanks for sharing as I found it to be inspirational for my own wardrobe goals. Blessings 🙏🏻💙
OMGoodness! I have wore workout gear without working out so much this year that I was actually thinking of adding more WO gear LOL. Thanks for this inspiration!! Am dressing more often, 3 days a week. I have to start somewhere!
