It's very common in the US for people to flush them. The box they come advertises that as part of the convenience and calls them "flushable". What people don't realize is that they don't break down so they do still get screened out through a grate at the wastewater treatment facility (along with other solids such as condoms, wipes, toys, etc) to be thrown away. Also, over time it can still cause household plumbing issues. Edit: Just want to clarify that I'm not trying to shame anyone who still flushes them. I did it for years until a friend who worked at a wastewater treatment facility explained that part of their job is to scrape piles of them off of a grate to throw away. This had to be done twice a day, everyday or the wastewater and 💩 would get all backed up.

A lot of countries don't have the proper inferstructure to flush anything bigger than a single sheet of toilet paper so it's understandable that for a lot of people it would be seen as weird or disgusting to flush them. But here (the UK) for example we are able to without causing blockages in the sewage systems. So basically it depends on what country you are from as to if its seen as bad or okay.

Yeah. Idk about America, but in my country we’re taught from a very early age that the only things that are supposed to be flushed down the toilet is pee, poop and toilet paper. Everything we flush ends up in the sewer cleaning facilities or whatever they’re called and the workers there have to remove and throw away all the non biodegradable stuff that ends up in the sewers so they won’t clog up. Their jobs would not be any easier if everyone were flushing their period products down the toilet. Most period products aren’t biodegradable and it’s really not good for the environment to throw them in the toilet. In my country it even says so on the packet so people won’t flush them, but unfortunately it still does happen.

Either she was raised so Christian no one told her how to wear a tampon and she had to figure it out on herself and therefore really is like disgusted by her onw nature or well might not be the smartest tool in the shed and ignored all the signs that said THAT. Like if you can't deal with a bin maybe try alternatives then? But flushing is like the odd most first taboos? Accident happen ok but like purposefully each time, I am amazed her toilet is even fine.

I am some girls. Idk for me it's the fact that the only person I hear talking about being on their period irl is my mom. My friends talk about it online, but rarely in person (I'm getting more comfortable talking about it with close friends though) so I feel awkward.

for some reason when i was younger i was more embarrassed?? mainly bc my mom would be like "don't tell anyone else you're on your period!!" especially cause it was like i was 10 and not everyone gets their period that young but y'know, some kid would literally shout out i was on my period in the middle of class, so loudly too and it would just stop the entire class and they would just be all confused but i got older and honestly stopped caring, oh no I'm bleeding out the wrong hole 😰😰😰 like people stop caring if you're on your period as you get older, in public changing your pad or whatever, it may be loud but do you ever hear someone go "is someone on their pERIOD?!??!?? We lost my great aunt/godmother on the 16th and she was the only that always reached out to me and would check up on me and make sure I was OK. Especially more so after my father passed away. She was the only real andvtrue aunt that actually really cared about me. Then came Father's day which is hard for me because I'd give anything in the world to have him back. I just got back from the cemetery when I seen Ryan had posted. Onto of that I had just lost my great uncle /godfather the day after my dad's 17 year anniversary of his passing and then five days later was my dad's birthday. It has just been a really hard few months and after losing my aunt everything just hit me all at once. Then I had to keep it together the best I could because my daughter's birthday was on the 17th and I didn't want to ruin her 20th birthday. I really don't know what I'd do without my kids helping through all the this. It seems like everything just keeps happening and I don't get a chance to recover or catch my breath before something else happens. That's I'm just so thankful for Ryan's videos and all the amazing Pumpkin comunity. At least for a little while I can smile when I see his videos or get on live and talk to all of you. So thank you so much for asking and caring. It really does mean alot to me. Right now I'm just trying to put one foot in front of the other and breath. At least I know my aunt and my uncle her brother and my dad are all together again. Just wish the lord didn't take the people that truly loved and cared about me away. However, it will probably take some time for you to learn and get used to how to place it correctly, so you might start out with some slight discomfort. There are multiple different ones that cause different issues. I sadly don't remember the names of them at the moment though, so I'm sorry about that.) Some people prefer tampons, others prefer pads. They work similary to tampons, except that they're reusable, as they don't absorb the blood, but rather collects it for you to flush down the toilet or sink. @@train_twink not really. I sleep less than 8 hours so for me it's not a concern. It is definitely a big risk if you're not a morning person, and in that case pads would be better but I don't think pads or tampons can automatically better than the other in this case.

However , trust me when things like periods which is natural and inevitable are considered taboo and are not normalized it continues to become awkward. So if you are on good terms with your father then, he might be uncomfortable himself too but he made efforts right. More u normalize this with ur father then less embarrassing situations will be , as after all periods are like other common process that happens in our body like digestion, respiration etc. I just wanted to make u feel good about it 😌 it's ok to feel that way and u are not alone okay 😊
