Mortal Kombat is still considered one of the best fighting games of all time, and its popularity has made it into the best-selling fighting game franchise worldwide. It has even spawned into live-action movies, but the last time a Mortal Kombat hit cinemas was when the underwhelming Mortal Kombat: Annihilation was released in 1997.
It’s been over 20 years since the last Mortal Kombat, but the latest trailer for the long-awaited Mortal Kombat reboot has given fans a lot to talk about.

sorry to rain on your parade bro but this is not a reboot of the movie... they took most of the stuff from the actual video game.. original movie has little to do with this.. unfortunately. i'm heartbroken honestly... they got my hopes up and disapointed me. While I love Boon's "Get over here", Hiroyuki Sanada's was a much more realistic version since Hanzo Hasashi is Japanese after all. If Boon had done a voice-over for that scene it would've felt wrong imo

If you look at his right eye at the end when he says “Kano wins”, you can see he has some damage over his eye, in what looks like could be the cause of his metal augments, so there still could be hope

@@neo-hero_7886 The thing with your comment though is that most likely is based on the same criticism that everyone is going on about his "Get over here" not sounding proper like the original/older sound that was made by a native English rather than a non-native, so if it sounds like Arnold it's only because that's how it should have sounded from the start, not all non-natives pick up on the accent of a language perfectly if it sounds like Arnold then I say they made it perfect

that birth mark also emerges from fire in trailer. and lin kuei's are cyromancer,nothing to do with fire. Fire belongs to scorpion. btw its the mk tattoo,does not belong to sub-zero or lin kuei. that birthmark means he belongs to that tournament.

You could see Sub-Zero appearing out of clouds, that might be hint to Noob Saibot, also if google MK cast, it literally says he'll playing Sub-Zero and Noob Saibot roles. The Cole dude has interesting ability turning his skin into stone or metal, could be Tremor? Or... since Scorpion showing up in his mirror he could be either Scorpion's or Sub-Zero relative lol, either way he seems to play a big role in their rivalry cause he's almost in every shot.

Something I noticed during the trailer was during the scene Liu Kang summons the fire dragon, the guy he is fighting has a mask and two hook swords. Very similar to Kabal.

I believe this film will be the first in a series or cinematic universe. This movie will likely be about the rivalry between scorpion and subzero, which will make the heart of this movie. However the evolution of Cole will be the main story behind the trilogy. The development will be about Cole's evolution from a reluctant combatant to his unleashing his arcane (or inner xi), whether he will deflect to the nether realm ( and become shao kahn's hero or embodiment) maybe become the character noob saibot or whether he will side with raiden to fight the nether realm' s fighters such as Goro. We know that it isn't Liu kang' s destiny to defeat goro, but another character. My guess is that they will explore these 2 character arches to allow a more longer 3-film project while working on the stories of the many other characters as they enter the cinematic universe.

Scorpion is the ultimate antihero ,im thinking Cole is a relative hence Cole wearing yellow in the cage ,and seeing scorpion in the mirror as a reflection, also maybe scorpion dies to subzero and Cole takes up the role of new scorpion ?
