There will be countless questions that will be left unanswered. Ultimately, it just boils down to cultural differences. This is our country and we run it. We are who we are. It is what is it.

Another great video, John. I trust that your business will thrive in the Philippines, because you always show proper respect and never forget to act like a guest. Your parents taught you well!

Sorry! Accidentally hit the send key before I was done. To uncomplicate things, we all learn to survive in our environment by rote 24/7 from our parents, peers or others. Ours is not to question why. Ours is but to do or die. Simple. When in Rome, do as the Roman's do. Right? If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.

@robertpinkerton94 So, we all should move as slowly as Filipino tellers and cashiers? Is that what you're saying with your worn-out platitudes? I see Filipinos can move pretty fast when it comes to catching a jeepney 😅.

Thanks John. I’ve never sought answers to those annoying things. Went to Citi Hardware and the item I wanted wasn’t on the shelf. “Sorry, out of stock sir.” I looked around the storage area underneath- and guess what? - there it was! Sometimes if something happens often enough it seems to become “expected” or normal. Mind you, I have tried that at other times, esp looking for my fav, Tiger Beer and yep, it really is “out of stock”! Keep ‘em coming John. 👍

If the Philippines will be advance like other Western countries, I don’t think other people will like to live there. The main reason people like Philippines is the laid back culture, cheaper to live, and a lot more reasons. Waiting in line will teach you patience. Here in the US, we think we have super power to do everything that lend us to burned out.

Some of this stuff is irrelevant for me simply because when I come to the Philippines I won’t be going to any food chain restaurants nor supermarkets I won’t even be in the areas that have it.I want to experience nothing but culture so no corporations nor food chains for me and this is why I like Mindanao and the Davao region in the Philippines the best😊.As far as Manila,Cebu city,Cebu it park,angles,bgc,makati,I don’t really care for going there like that too dense too much traffic too much people and too enclosed.Ill stick to the outer areas instead.

3:45 that's cos filipinos are also very perfectionist when it comes to grammars, diction, and pronunciation. like in our household, when i was younger and a student, my aunts, lola, even my father would correct my english a lot especially when i'd speak with a heavy tagalog accent. so now that i'm a little older, i can say that i can converse in good english with foreigners, let's say british or american. but i will get really shy and conscious about it, because in my mind, they are the native speakers and english is just my second language. 😂 idk if that make sense to you but that's my truth. another story, it was during my school days. we had a really strict english teacher, who, likes us all to speak "text-book perfect" english, which i found ridiculous because, we are filipinos. but i really couldn't voice that out or i would get reprimanded. in the end, we all just went with her rules.
@angefee1755
@angefee1755 2 месяца назад
Not all pinoys are like that. It has something to do with the mentality and the fact that a lot of people there tend to criticize you base on your English level. Which is ridiculous.
@metardis1670
@metardis1670 2 месяца назад
No need to be shy and conscious about your English ability. Ive always been so grateful when I meet people like you who have a wonderful grasp of a difficult language....and that also applies to those who are less fluent yet will try their best. Communication is key. Just reading your comment lets me know your English is top notch....probably better than a lot of the foreigners that you would meet whose native language is English. Ingat and God bless.

nah, it's just bureaucracy making all things slow. so many "important " people in the higher-ups making complicated rules just for that sake of rules but doesn't actually improve anything. Just look at the gorvernment, each department/agency has their own ID system. How dumb is that? It's just plastic card that has your name and number, like how many different nuumbers do you fucking need for an individual?

Cheap labour keeps things manual. A chaperone is normal for courting. No one wants to be embarrassed by an 'expert' speaker or anything else.

I'd say the digital thing, is about employment, because going digital means less staff, also bringing a friend on a date is probably like having a chaperone, I'm not very patient when it comes to cueing, simply because there are many things that can be done instead of waiting in a cue! I can't understand why people like to waste time, my brain just doesn't get it?
@MWentworth__1
@MWentworth__1 2 месяца назад
You would not want to waste time and we understand that. But the Filipinos are not wired that way. This is a laid back country, and you know it. If yiu can't stand it, maybe the Philippines is not for you. You may start to think things through. Will you become happier and less stressed by leaving the country? Only you can answer that question.
