He says it often during the streams, but a lot gets edited out: you are right, the points are absolutely meaningless fluff! This is just a silly challenge so there's something to do while there's no big tournaments for him to work towards. If you're still learning the game, definitely still play to learn/have fun and don't stress about points, they don't tell the full story at all.

Why did the starting LP change between the two Blanka matches? The Akuma and Ryu matches show 240934 starting LP, but those games are sandwiched between two Blanka games with a 242996 starting LP. Bizarre editing choice to put footage from a different session in there?

The vid is plainly 2 sessions, but yes, they are jumbled togethger a bit. The matches that were actually between those Blanka sets weren't as interesting, so I just put matches from the first session in there instead. Note that the starting LP for those matches is the same as in the first part of the video.
