My Vespa has been louder than I thought it should be for the year I have owned it (bought with 7k miles). Finally got embarrassingly loud after a 30-minute full-throttle run. I changed the spark plug, and looked all over the exhaust. When I took the exhaust off, I had zero left of the bushing. This video and parts service is excellent. It doesn't mention which way in the new bushing goes - it doesn't appear to be the same both ways. I'm assuming the open mesh end goes into the exit of the exhaust gasses.

My friend is a long distance rider, and he told me the best way to test your setup is to use Google Maps to set up a circle around your base, or later, your entire metro area. By gradually increasing the radius of that circle, you will still never be but that radius away from base camp. Once you've done a 150 mile circle, in changing weather, your butt and your bike should be acclimated...lol. Don't practice in good weather only.
Thanks Robot! I have a 2008 Vespa GT200L that has done over 60 thousand kilometers and is still my daily driver here in Cape Town, South Africa! I have done a few longer trips and loved it. I currently have two problems to solve. My Speedo cable seems to slip (the Speedo works intermittently up and down) when the cable is tightened too much on the top (headset) end. Also my indicators only work when I pull the break lever… any advice on either of those issues from the community? Thanks once again!
You might have the grease in the tube of speedo cable dry up over these years which is common on the clutch cable of old two stroke engine vespas thus causing the breaking of cluth cable. You might spray some 3M grease into the tube of speedo cable to lubricate the cable to revive the speedometer.
HI ROBOT, ALWAYS HAPPY TO WATCH YOUR VIDEOS, QUESTION: I HAVE A 2006 250 GTS IE, WHEN MY SPEED IS AROUND 30 M/P/H THE HANDLES START TO WABLE, I HAVE TO HANDLE THEM FIRMLY, I DON'T FEEL ANY DANGER, I AM USED TO IT. THE QUESTION IS: IS IT NORMAL I'VE BEEN TOLD BY DEALERS IN FLORIDA IT WAS. TRUTH OR LIE?
Hi there Robot. Have you had the pleasure to try out a 180cc Gilera Runner? Under the impression there a phew in the States? Just bought a 50cc version but it really handles like a charm.
Love your vids Robot. People tell me a Stebel super loud horn can’t be installed N 2023 GTS SUPER cuz it’s too crowded up front with ABS. Is this true? I sold my 2012 with Stebel and really miss that loud horn. Thanks.
Robot, I really like your videos!!!! You give a lot of important informations. I am riding a GTS 300 Super Sport since 2017 througout Germany until Italy Mediteranian Cost and back. Was a great trip!!! I travelled approx 16000 km so far without any problems. My last service was at 14000 km with belt removal etc. now the engine is getting in low speed a little noisy. Shall I ckeck the belt and clutch again? May be you have some idears what to be checked? Kind regards from Kiel, Germany Peter
@@skilipite Hi, I‘ve exchanged the Vario Rolls and installed tech Pülley types with same weight 14g as well the sliding pieces. It sounds and works much better. Clutch was OK. I am now checking it and will come back with further comments eventually later. Tks for your responds. Kind regards Peter
Scooters are great for inner city 'scooting' around, but I find them too uncomfortable on longer distances. I used to have a BMW C650 Maxi Scooter which could cruise freeways all day, but being good at cruising made it too cumbersome for short runs down to the shop. I now have a BV400 which is IMO the perfect scoot. Big enough to be fast, small enough to be easy to handle, but even then after an hour or so of riding I need to get off it for a break.
@@public138 "Buy a good seat and it will change your life." It's more than the seat. Shorter wheelbase and suspension means a scooter will never be comfortable on long rides as a big bike. It's like comparing a golf cart to a Cadillac. No amount of mods fixes the size issue.
