Love the channel. What would be great is if you could edit in some cutaway shots of things you are talking about. Like when you talk about VOG, if you cut the video out to some with and without clips or photos while you are talking. Just a thought. It would be cool to see that stuff along with your commentary. Thanks again...
Thank you for making these videos! My husband and I have been planning a move to Kona for about a year now, tentatively moving in early-mid 2018. Anyway, we have done a lot of research but I have a question that you may be able to answer. We noticed that you talk about jobs in some of your videos. We were wondering if you are familiar with CDL driving jobs and their availability. You didn't mention it in any videos that we watched, but we have seen quite a few jobs on Craigslist as well as the local paper. He doesn't currently drive over the road, so the fact that those jobs don't exist there isn't an issue. We called and know what we need to do to transfer his license, but are wondering how difficult it will be to find a job once we arrive. I am self-employed so that isn't an issue, but we were wondering about the need to drivers on the island.
I would believe drivers are in demand here, either with tour companies or even industrial companies. Check out the tour companies like Kapoho Kind, Roberts Hawaii. If you want to go Industrial check out Young Brothers.
********READ BEFORE YOU DECIDE TO UP AND MOVE TO BIG ISLAND********* Been here a couple of years. We recently bought a lovely home overlooking Hilo Bay and Hilo. We are up 100 feet from the water and it is AMAZING! 8yr old house and the area is so gorgeous! We are fortunate and lucky to live here, but we have earned it and we fit in. You may not fit in so SERIOUSLY consider your move. No joke. Serious. But......unless you're a star or got a PhD or lotsa money, honey.....Please SERIOUSLY consider the move here. Do not compromise and think you can support a family on a retail job. Jobs are SCARCE and if you do not have one......gooooood luck. Unless you have something waiting for you here.....PLEASE.....KNOW THAT YOU MAY HATE IT WITHIN 3 MONTHS. Many come and go - with their families in-tow. I am not a nay-sayer.....I am the guy who hopefully makes you THINK HARD. Just because it works for us and we can afford to live here comfortably does not mean all can. Many come here with lots of money, but they do not assimilate. You will not be well-known here. You will become known-well. Huge difference and the mainland ways are NOT seen as good or PONO (righteous).
What’s the best way to find a home for rent in Kona. I look on Craigslist all the time but can’t find anything. What’s your advice on finding a home to rent. My budget is 1600/2000$ a month
Hey bro thanks for the videos. Watched a lot before coming to HI and you give solid insight. Started in Honolulu in October, stayed in Keehi Harbor near sand island aboard a sailbot, but was too busy an area for me. Been in Hilo for a month now, and I need some help! So Ive done my due diligence on a lot of land. Small, quarter acre. I want it But I cant really verify the seller who is financing me on a land contract. I was wondering if you or anyone you know has done buisness with property home management based out of Missouri, they have supposedly sold many lots in HPP and Nanawale estates
JJ CROOKS , either one would be good for me... planning to stay in each area for two weeks and decide if it would work for the wife and I. Can you please make a video about health care and hospitals on The Big Island, I would appreciate that very much, Mahalo!
