The amount of times I've only spawned at Sanctuary Outpost when I want to do ashen voyages and Galleons Grave when I want to run Wild Rose is insane. The dive to the first step is going to be extremely helpful and might encourage more people to use the Devils Roar more often.

the participation trophy thing i don't mind because people will stop complaining about hours of work gone because someone attacks them in a pvppve game

Most people playing this game dont play it for their job or have the time to dump several hundreds of hours each month into it if even an hour per day/week. Them giving a small amount of rep for just completing the voyage is fine because it still incentivizes that they should sell it for much more if they have the time but they still can make some progress if they dont. If you get sunk and lose the loot, you still got something out of it so it becomes less frustrating which could encourage them to try again. Too many people that can shed their time to this game like its a job/life or end up making it their job through streaming forget that a majority of players cannot do that. The complaint for hourglass was similar, super long battles with too little of a reward, even worse if sunk or running into hackers. The way he complains about that tiny bit of rep reminds me of how many players cried when they re-released the legendary curse, you know.. the one that was basically given out as a participation trophy in season 1?

From what I’m seeing, this season is gonna be like Shrouded Spoils all over again. That was one of the most memorable updates and I snake a TON more time into the game after it released after stepping away for a little prior.

9:10 it's not like not cashing in the loot will award you anything of significance beside the basic faction cosmetics. What matters is gold and commendations, you get neither without cashing in the chest and I bet the reputation reward is going to be basically equal to loss farming in HG.

Despite Season 11 looking brighter compared to the last couple of years, I still refuse to play. They have yet to improve the hit registration and it ruins every single encounter I have. I started an ACTUAL session today after years of refusing to play, and the first fight I had with another crew was filled with unresponsive shots with cannonballs and bullets. There is no reason to play this game if the game doesn't work properly in a battle situation. I've heard their communication on what they've been doing to try and fix it, but it's 6 years too late. They had their chance. I'm officially done with this game, and I'm never coming back. But pace, your personality and gameplay are both things I love, and I wouldn't give that up! Thank you for the continuous entertainment, I hope the seas improve much more for you soon brother. Much love. 💙🏴‍☠

I'd like to know what RARE considers a contested fort. If I, for example, row to a world event to tuck ahead of time in anticipation of someone diving, will my pirates presence prevent them from diving there and therefor give them the info that Im there?

they finally getting away from the virtual reality that this supposed feel like a "pirate game" to an actual pirate game, implement features that help people play the game the intended way, if needed force it, fast travel is amazing

Yea, I will agree that these changes does look good, so lets hope it will bring in more players.. Though I still believe that The game needs an better engine that can handle more ships on the seas, as 5 or 6 ships are not enough to make the world feel alive at all, like even if they can start things up faster with this season.. that is still not going to change the fact that the world is still to massive for the amount of ships that can be on the server. I don't expect seeing ships sailing more often in season 11.. and again that just boils down to the fact that the world is too big for the amount of ships we have on one server. Also people diving to an world event.. does that mean they will change server? like if they are diving to an active Skull fort, but there is non on their server.. then does it mean that ship will spawn on an new server or does it start up an world event on an random fort? That is an slight worry, seeing as if they change servers it means the world might feel even more empty.. I don't know, its slightly worry some though.. to think about. Also Also.. FOF, really isn't as valuable as it used to be.. since they took away the Chest of Fortune, seeing as everyone blow the kegs up which is still valuable loot, like each keg you get in the Fort are still like minimum 3000-4000 gold each, without multiplier.

Majority of gamers in general aren’t sweats … this means the longevity of most games solely depends on keeping the general average player happy and not the sweats!! … theres just not enough sweaty players in the world to completely finance any game! 🤷🏻‍♂️ And when the average player comes across a game that seems like the only way to progress is to be a sweat, the average player doesn’t go “ ah i need to spend all my time trying to get better at this game”….. they just say fukk this🤷🏻‍♂️ and they’re done with the game. In a world thats ran by the sweats, participation trophies is the only thing keeping alot of these people coming back. And when they keep coming back, guess what, they get better at the game… but if you stomp them out from the very beginning, they never stick around…… thats just hard FAX So its kind of a double edge sword for the sweaty player, yes your competitive environment takes a hit with things like participation rewards but at the same time it makes for not having a dead game that you dont even want to play anymore. I mean imagine if SOT was nothing but sweats…. You would hop on a server and there would only be ONE other ship on the server…. Truth is the sweats are a minority and the minority rarely see they’re desires actuated because of Democratic principles we just naturally live by. If it were the other way around then the average player would have to take the “backseat” to the much larger sweaty player base that supply’s majority of the games revenue. WE NEED SH!TTY PLAYERS to remain happy with the game that sweaty players have dumped hours into. Side point: in a world full of nothing but sweaty players….. NO SWEATY PLAYER EXISTS!😉( it would just be a bunch of average players again)

I like the diving mechanic but I can just see it being abused say like oh this ship in the distance is coming towards us no worries we'll just dive and we'll disappear. I think it'll just make chasing rubbish.

Honestly bro most people have real jobs and can't put 2000 hours in this game so it would be nice to not have to worry about sweatlords like you every game session. The entire game servers should be matchmaking where those sweats like yourself can all play against each other.

One problem I've already noticed is that there's already too much sailing in the new update. For example, let's say you want to do buried treasure maps. Now, buried treasure maps are considered "low tier" voyages, so the treasure chests you find are the lowest tier crap, AND the two kinds of voyages you can do are either only two treasure chests hidden on a small island or 3 chests hidden on a large island. There are no more 5 or 6 chests hidden on a single island, and definitely none of what we NEED, which is like 10 to 12 chests on a single island. We need more choices to enable us to do MORE CONTENT and LESS SAILING between islands. No one in their right mind wants to sail between islands every TWO fucking chests.

The reason no one does the PvP contents & worldevents as much as they _"should"_ when you consider that most still have their related cosmetics to earn is, that most people really do not play SoThieves for this type of content. They want the beauty, the wonder, the relaxation and the non-topic PvE epic without... hmmmmmm... without double-gunner's probably. 😉 Still hope for a _"ship loadout"_ that you can change at outposts. Taller sails which are already noticable from far away, showing you that this ship has the loadout for more speed. ° *Sloop as fast as the bigger ships* ° *Galleon can also equip such sails while Brig cannot, to truly show that only the biggest ship can have the highest speed.* ° *Two natural cannons on each side of a sloop* ° *Three natural cannons on each side of a Brig* ° *A reinforced hull that will slow the ship down for a percentage of it's max speed* ( _the only loadout compatible with other loadout's_ ) Stuff like this. Make naval combat more interesting & less repetitive again.
