-no double meat -dont pick cold cuts -no chicken or beef -pick fresh veggies Thank you mashed, the next time I go to Subway I'm gonna pick toast bread with lettuce
To be fair they said double the slices deli meat chicken. The other chicken with soy is when the use the large strips of “cut chicken breast” for the sweet onion teriyaki etc. I imagine the deli chicken probably doesn’t have the same properties which is why they’re listed separately.
@@tommyren7260 you have to eat something to lose weight. Point is, subway promotes that their sandwiches are healthy. They have multiple pro athletes speak on their behalf.
I work at subway, and I can still say I'd rather eat there than somewhere like McDonald's, where I work we clean everything and refill the veggie station every day, we are actually fresh. This video is kinda dumb 😂😂😂
i work at subway, we clean and cut vegetables as needed, its not cut and sitting there all week :) its as if you buy tomatos at home on Monday and dont use them until friday
Ok, I work at Subway and the veggies don’t sit for a week, they’re always fresh, they’re labeled with open and expiration dates and the latest we’ll allow them is five days, not a week. It’s also properly stored in containers or bags and in the fridge, if it doesn’t seem fresh, we throw it out
Thank you for sticking up for your business. The way this generation operates is pathetic. Someone was willing to give this punk a job just for him to turn around and trash the business just so they can become Tic Tok stars?!?!? Snitches get stitches... #1. And #2, putting a whole nationwide franchise at risk and people's livelihood is disgraceful. Really happy you stood up, for real!!!
@@sushiqt07 Trust me you dont want Subways. Im sure Jersey Mike's sandwiches are 10 times better. Subways are cheap with the meat and cheese they put on their sandwiches
The video of cold cut combo is NOT the cold cut combo. Cold cut combo comes pre-packed and layered and consist of alleged ham, salami, and bologna and it all looks exactly like bologna. Video also shows bacon going on the club. The club does not come with bacon. The tuna info here is wrong too. If you get tuna from Subway and it's soupy, the staff is making it wrong. When made correctly and by corporate directions, it is very thick and not at all soupy.
The tuna is pre-packaged and so is the mayonnaise. All they need to do is mix a bag of each but when they don't break down the tuna into smaller pieces first, the mix comes out soupy.
My "go to" is the Spicy BMT, then the Tuna and I only go to Subway whenever I get $5.99 Foot Long Sub offer ☺ Just can't make myself pay close to $8-$10 for a sam'ich 😔 I have 1 more coupon left..
I love the 6" sweet chicken teriyaki sandwich as a hot sandwich and the Italian BMT for a cold sandwich. I usually only eat 1 meal/day so not worried about the negative remarks on sodium, etc. If you don't eat anything else--you're under the recommended values.
Buffalo chicken sammie hot with pepper jack and extra sauces with damn near every veggie lol I only eat about one meal a day too so I usually order two to get my calorie intake up :)
If you actually look at the packaging, you will see that the chicken is less than 50% chicken, so the only thing to eat is tuna. Trust me I worked in Subway for almost a year
The Cold Cut Combo is the cheapest sandwich, and to me it is the best. I tried all the others and I end up going back to the basics. I was surprised it was featured in this never-order show. I still order it.
One thing you guys neglected to mention, *The olive oil* is in reality only 10% actual olive oil the rest of something else. Veggies are cut and you kept from 2 to 3 days in most instances, the same thing goes for the meet. The tuna salad used to actually be made from large cans of tuna mixed with mayo and salt so the extra mayo could’ve just been one location or several locations but it doesn’t seem to have too much mayo to me.
Former Subway worker, can confirm that veggies and other items usually only come in twice week, however the "fake" chicken controversy is misleading. The lab that tested Subway's chicken was not certified to test human-grade proteins, only lesser quality products so the accuracy of their study should be called into question, they are in no position to make the determination they did but the media loves spectacle and chaos so they ran with it. Other than that the list is pretty spot on. PS, don't get meatballs unless you KNOW they are fresh, a lot of stores ignore the ~6hour wait limit and serve them all day or from the day before. Always ask to see the sticker on the food cambros/sauces (especially the sauces) if you are unsure how long the food has been there. There's no guarantee they haven't been switched to make it seem fresher but you should know how bad it is when you ask them how long it's been on the line and you get a long pause or "uhhhhh...." those are red flags that they don't want to tell you the truth so avoid those items. I find it funny people saying this video is bogus, it may not be 100% accurate but speaking as someone who actually worked inside a Subway and saw the shit that goes on, I think people would sing a different tune if they were behind the counter instead of in front of it. A lot of employees are working at or just above minimum wage and don't give a shit about your health or satisfaction, i've seen red lettuce get served because the employees don't care and the ones that do are afraid to throw away bad produce because the store is already losing money. I will however defend Subway when it comes to the value of their food, if it's a good location and the food is respectable quality. I'd rather get a footlong for $5-7 than get two burgers for the same price, you get WAY more food, it's healthier and extra veggies are free, so go crazy. There are good locations, but it's still a fast food restaurant with many of the same shortcomings, so it's good to keep that in mind.
I am a subway veteran. Yes the veggies are god awful 'one week old' meaning deliveries are made once a week, the veggies actually arrive flawless are refrigerated and are sliced daily to accommodate the production for that same day. Fresher then produce prepared in our homes💁 who would imagine
Nothing beats an italian herbs and cheese foot long with classic chicken fillets and cheddar cheese toasted. Then ask for everything except Beetroot, Carrots and Spinach. Extra olives or Jalapeños if you want. Salt and pepper. Hot chilli and mayonnaise. The only sub that I have been having for almost a decade.
Don't eat anything at subway. I worked there for a year . absolutely disgusting . everything the food the "kitchen " if you can call it that . all the meat comes cooked in plastic sealed bags. You open it and the smell is awful . food is packed full of sodium and calories. Nothing is a good option employees are overworked and barley paid over minimum wage. I Never given breaks
I worked at subway years ago making the tuna was sickening more mayo than tuna havent eaten there since I worked there in the early 90s I'd rather have jimmy John's their quality is so much better and I can get an unwhich
Things you should NEVER order at subway.....EVERYTHING ! The sad part is that , WalMart of all places has ready made subs that have at least triple the amount of meat, and cheese, weighs a lot more, and costs a lot less, and are BIGGER than 11 inches. Then when they are approaching the sell by date, and the lettuce starts to wilt (like Subway's lettuce ALWAYS does), they get even cheaper. You just have to take off the wilted lettuce and replace it with fresh one. It's a damned shame when Walmart's worst, is better than Subway's best.
A fairly nutritious, fairly priced meal...ROTFLMAO....i used to eat subway once or twice a week when i could get a premium sub with a coupon for 6$ this year they stopped the coupons...I've been there twice...at $9 I'll spend 10 at a local shop for a footlong where half goes home for dinner....eat a whole subway footlong...hungry in 2 hours
I love subways, I always get either Italian cheese bread or flatbread, ham and turkey, cucumber, a bit of Monterey jack cheese before toasted and a bit after and salt and pepper with no sauce.
When did subway start cutting their bread like a hotdog bun?? You cannot close the ‘do not eat sandwich’ and the food pile is not even on the ‘do not eat sandwich’
I don’t know why people go to Subway, when Jersey Mike’s and Jimmy John’s are way better and they don’t try to disguise their premium subs as being healthy.
I worked at subway for a few months at two different subways long enough to know that they aren't lying. There veggies are very much unfresh and the meat as well. I had coworkers who would refuse to throw away meat after a day of it being much too old.
You should never order ANYTHING at Subway. Your order is always contaminated with whatever the previous order contained, and God forbid you try to get the person behind the counter to clean up before making your order. I’d eat gas station sushi before I’d eat anything at Subway. The place is just disgusting. The old Subway (before they started just cutting the rolls in half) was okay, but nowadays, it’s just disgusting.
How long do we keep veggies in our refrigerators at home? A week isn't very long as long as it's not cut yet. Stores cut and prep only as much as they require for a day. They prep more as needed and if anything becomes bruised or otherwise not fresh it doesn't get used. Vegetarians are just fine.
Veggies most definitely do NOT sit for a week lol, at least not in a condition that would effect the produce. Subway is a fast food place, every fast food place has frozen product in stock, that being said subway *does* prep veggies every day, and yes I worked there so I know. As for the meat? People eat what they want, get double meat if you want double meat, its up to the consumer.
Most of this is just the consumers choice, it isn't up to the subway employees to dictate what customers should and shouldn't get to be healthy, they just give what's asked.
See that picture of chicken teriyaki. That depicts twice as much meat as you will receive. You have to order double meat at a much higher price to get a sub to match the advertisements,
Being from NJ and living near white house subs, and sugar hill deli, I would never set foot in a subway, also the CEO badmouthed America on a show in England. So as they say in my country, up yours subway.
I absolutely HATE Subway breakfast sandwiches. It's the so called eggs they use, which are disgusting to me. I'll also never eat their meatball subs or anything that has steak in it from there. I do however love their chicken bacon ranch sub, the Italian BMT and pizza sub isn't bad either. The tuna sub when done just the way I like it is my favorite, which I get loaded up with lots of green stuff (spinach, green peppers, cucumbers, etc), then black olives, onions, and pickles with a light squirt of sweet onion sauce. I miss their seafood sensation sub though, which used to be my favorite.
Australian Subway's had breakfast options for many years before the year quoted on this video - important to put context in any claims as other main markets may have done or changed certain aspects
ANOTHER scold? Hey Mashed, here's a challenge for you: put together three consecutive videos without saying the words "calories", "fat", "cholesterol", or "unhealthy."
Seriously, I love subway but I've noticed the lettuce and cucumbers more often than not would have already made it into my garbage can at home by the time they're trying to sell it to consumers.
Well, fuck. I been working at subway for 6 months now and I didn't know the cold cut combo came with more then the bologne. RIP my past customers who got it.
Listen to your body and you will quickly realize how healthy subway is for you. It has changed my life after 35 years of trying everything and anything. I started eating only 6 inch tuna sandwiches no more than twice a day and the results of well-being I have been getting is through the roof! Thank you subway!
