by Kevin Samuels the fact that a man is just a foundation... a canvas to always work on and improve. Grooming can help the average man become better regardless of the way you are at first. You can always better yourself. No excuses
by Kevin Samuels Step your game up fellas! Sadly this is what the real nigga era brought. Brothas can tell you how to flip a oz in 100 different ways, but can’t understand how present their best selves everyday. It’s like guys who would run outside as soon as Jordan did a nice move to practice that move. But they haven’t even mastered the BASICS.💪🏾
I'm 19 years old been on my own since I was 15, Because my ass thought I was grown. Running round smoking weed, braking laws, full out dropping out of school my freshman year cause I was getting some " fast money " I had to learn a lot of things the hard way. I always tried to watch my hygiene but, never to this level. I wish someone could've helped me out like this but, I really think at the time I would've probably shook em off. I had a hard time trusting adults or anyone for that matter. Nobody could've told my ignorant ass nothing, It's not till now that I've broken my leg skateboarding resulting in me not being able to work anymore for the next 4 to 8 more months. I got down to my last 2 grand last month & decided to just hit the street. Been showering at the gym, applied for ebt to save money on food. I'm beating around the bush really I'm homeless point blank I've never thought more about my hygiene then how not only that but, my diet & health over all I can't afford most this stuff at the moment. Yet I'm definitely taking note applying what I can. Great video man keep it up 👏🏾
I notice how strict, honest and blunt he was with the instructions, but in the end he was soft with the advice, that is how a father should. He balanced everything. This right here is gold
I discovered this video in August 2021. Listened to it in its entirety while working @ usps with my ear buds. By October 2021- I moved out of my momma’s house, bought Tom Ford’s cologne, picked up another job, & even bought my very first suit from Men’s wearhouse! Thank you Kevin for holding young men accountable, you taught me a lot. I’m just 1 person and this is my experience. Thank you sir
This is the first time I've clicked on a video since his passing. But it got me to thinking? We are going to all die. He and his message will always live on.. He's immortal! He will help other generations. He did his part to fix the world. RIP Godfather 🍾🙏🏾❤️💯

I'm a 27 year old man, and I can honestly say that when I was in my early 20's and single, I used to do every damn thing that was said in this video. I have now been with my girl for almost 4 years and littlw by little I've gotten lazy and forgotten how important this shit really is. This video was the kick in the ass I needed to hear to get me back on my game. I miss the days when my girl would look at me and couldn't even believe she got so lucky. Because of you, ima be back on my shit!
This is one on Kevin's best videos of all time in my opinion. He offered up so much wisdom that most men are lacking, but just don't ask about. Whether that's from embarrassment, pride, or just not knowing who to ask. I think about Kevin often... He was taken from us too soon, truly. Rest in peace my friend - you are remembered, always.
I had a father figure who taught me how to work on a car, carpentry, landscape and dress like a man. I had a mother taught me how to cook, clean, iron my clothes keep my home clean. All this is still practiced to this day at the age of 57. I have an education and a good career thanks to people in my life.
You are blessed to have your parents and are doing better than millions. I would literally KILL to have had this information from birth. Keep up the good work. For the rest of us, we gotta start somewhere.
It's crazy the difference good parents make in someone's life. That's something to always think about when interacting with people. Many people never had that opportunity, and it really stunts people's growth when they never had that. A single mother can do a lot, but one thing they can't do is show a young boy how to learn to turn into a grown man 💯 You need a man for that, some positive male role model in their life to show them the way. Same way a young lady needs a grown woman in their life, to show them how to turn into a competent woman in time to grow up and get a husband. Gotta remember that having a family is a PRIVILEGE‼️💯 Even if it's normal for you... So be grateful for your life, and your blessings, because it makes a HUGE difference in your upbringing, personality, and character 💯
@@KingChrisMcLean Facts bro, folks shouldn't take their parents for granted, because it completely changes your path in life to have that guidance. Not saying you can't grow up successful without a father or mother, but it significantly lowers your odds. People take their relationship with their parents for granted all the time, and get mad at their parents for trivial things. Just gotta know that they do it because they love you and want you to be safe like 9 times out of 10. There are abusive parents as well, but the point is that generally it's for the child's benefit 💯 So the lesson is that you should always be grateful, and keep in mind that someone always has it worse 💯
And as a man I must say this is somewhat life changing in its own right, if you’re a man and have not been taught these things. This is probably one of the most powerful things I’ve seen on bettering yourself as a man. Literally watched this twice in 2 days and am taking note and adding products and clothes to the shopping cart. Love to see it.
@@daniella8400 It's NECESSARY that you have someone to learn from‼️💯 Many of us never had that, we never had a father that taught us how to be a man. So if we don't learn if from there, we don't really have anywhere to learn from. So we really NEED this type of information if we didn't get it anywhere else 💯
As I head back to college for my second year, I will be implementing all of these tips. Took notes on all of this shit. A wise dude once told me, "preparation is never lost time." That is damn true.
You’ll feel so much better about yourself when your house is clean. Best way to keep it clean is to put stuff back where it’s supposed to go. Don’t just toss your dirty clothes on the floor. Buy a hamper and do your laundry at least once a week if not twice. Keep candles lit especially in your room. (Make sure they’re away from flammable items like bedding, curtains, lamp shades, etc.
Black men of power spreading positive seeds are rarely ever given wide praise and recognition but are commonly disregarded and turned against them by the majority, even our own. This point has been, and is made constantly by Kevin, many other black men in this space and millions more of us that go unheard and unappreciated......until it's too late.
RIP Kevin, this video changed my life in 2020, I was so shook while listening to it that I had to go for a walk afterwards, because of this video I take more care of my image and how I carry myself. You explained things that my father taught me that I didn't understand when I was younger and made me find a new respect for him and the people that surround me by taking care of myself. Thank you Kevin , rest in paradise.
My dad spoke like this. He was a General sales manager. He would shine his shoes on random Sundays. He always told us to dry clean your shirts and pants, have a quality cologne and be looking good
Before he went in on women he went in on us men...thank you Mr Samuel's you taught me shit my dad never did and kept me lookin spiffy ..it worked R.I.P sir
The longer time passes, the more they’ll understand him. The more they’ll appreciate him. The more they’ll regret the abhorrent way they’ve acted upon his transition back to the lord that sent him to us to make family a goal again.
This video won't be acknowledged by the critics & detractors but there's a community of men who listened and benefited from the short 2 hours worth of game that this man decided to share. This, and many other videos were created when no one cared and he was holding us, as men, completely accountable. To every man here that was raised by a single mother or dad that wasn't all the way dedicated, our job isn't done. This man received his thorns and flowers in the same bouquet. May you gentlemen continue to push forward and embody every lesson shared from a man that happened to have the courage to draw outside of the lines. All love. 🫡
I'm 50 yrs old (51 n Oct).....not that I was ever a 'nasty' mfer but this ENTIRE video FINALLY made me realize how much I really haven't not taken care of ME.......I'm going to much needed therapy around Oct cause my mental capacity has been way off since I was a teenager (lack of confidence, low self esteem, low self-worth).....from this point forward I'm gonna work on ME n work on REVERSE ENGINEERING my ENTIRE self -- MIND, BODY, SPIRIT -- AS A TRUE VALUE MAN that I should've ALWAYS been!!!
It's NEVER too late...you described myself at 50....I'm now 53 and have much of my life in order now but still working on losing my gut that I allowed myself to acquire through bad eating and drinking habits. Self Improvement is a journey that NEVER STOPS!!!
@@waltporter7707 as a black brother not knowing who the hell you are.. but I am encouraging you on ya journey and respect you and wish u nothing but the best and success
This is the era I came to know Kevin. We know the whole spectrum of his message. They won't talk about this, but we will never stop. WE WILL NEVER STOP!!!
Yes this is when he was telling us men to tighten up and get right. For all the women that think we went in only on women, he gave men that work first. Rest In Power Mr. Samuels job well done My G
facts. this is around the time I started listening to kevin hard. I remember he used to do a livestream a few times a week at around 3pm. Stayed droppin gems
My dad was in the military, soft spoken but tough, he's a correctional officer now. The first time I realized taking care of yourself was actually a manly thing to do is when I saw him get a manicure and pedicure. He get's them regularly with his wife. He shines his shoes everyday, irons his clothes everyday. He takes care of himself, and this is a man.
I’m 19 & starting to take notes from you, I’m tired of being the same as others in my age group I want to stand out from my age group💯 I’m happy you drop this video much love 🖤.

Rest In Peace godfather. You not only inspired blacks. I’m Mexican and I looked up to you sir and admired the way you carry yourself. I cannot think of another man black or Hispanic that has made as much of an impact as you did. Safe travels sir and Godspeed.
Shout out to my DAD! He was a Marine and taught me everything you said in this video. My father carried himself well at all times house and vehicles included.
As a man who grew up around women my whole life, this video, honest to God, is THE most impactful video he ever did for me. RIP Kevin! Thank you for helping black men & women come together in marriage & be the best versions of themselves.
Please can someone save all his videos just for back up purpose( especially this video), you never know what can happen on RU-vid or what they might do with his videos🙏🏽this man CANNOT BE FORGOTTEN!
I'm 37 and never learned this but im glad i found this today because my 3 yr old son needs to know this, i will be following you more sir, plus love your swag
Don’t feel bad if you didn’t know these things. Old head ain’t know all this shit at a point in time either & now he does , so he’s passing game. Remember you only can TEACH once you LEARN. One day @ a time fellas.
@@yessir4757 I would say no. But, if it's due to financial issues on your end, medical reasons, or something like that then it would be understandable. But, try your damn hard to get your own. There are plenty of reason why someone would move back to there parents. just make sure you have a game plan to get back on your feet. If you are just staying there then, yes get your own spot.
Tip if u can’t afford some of this grooming stuff go to burlington! Got to the men’s grooming section and you’ll find some good shit for good prices! Don’t sleep
My father was in the picture all of my damn childhood never taught me any of this. I learned how to shave by myself, how to tie a neck in my 20's. All my father did is yell at me for not knowing shit, but couldn't be bothered to teach me anything. I learned how to change my own oil watching the dudes do it at Valvoline when I took it in there once.
@@Myfavjosh Mines is not here anymore, yelling at himself was prolly what happened, now that I have read your comment, I can forgive him a little more now after this.
Love this content. Straight man talk. I taught this to my son early. He could wash his own clothes, cook, clean, iron, hygiene, clean his space as early as 6 yrs old. We started his fragrance collection and how to take care of his body and skin care regimen at 12. As a freshman in high school he's a cut above the rest. His dad reinforces this as well as keeping those grades up, working hard, and managing his money. He is already a superstar. It's never too late to start. Women notice these details. ❤
I think kids need to learn about hygiene but children need to learn to be children to. There’s a reason childhood comes before adolescence. Growing up too quick isn’t good either.
Damn man..I’m was hoping it was just a rumor. Thank you for everything you’ve provided while still here in the flesh. You’ve impacted me in a time where I needed it most. I honestly can’t say thank you enough. I just wish I could’ve seen more from you. Thank you for everything
RIP GODFATHER!! You saved a lot of us from destruction!!! I hate that you're gone but you definitely left your mark with us!! Thanks for everything Sleep well big homie!
Im glad i found this channel. I been depressed... aimless... and stressed. Big bro got me laughing and inspired and ready to get hired. (I already got a job just saying)
My girlfriend in college used to tell me about the importance of taking care of your skin and I never listened until we broke up and now this video solidifies it. Thanks brother
@@xaujumper Women are the same way. A black man like Kevin could be giving her advice but she won’t listen until her friends or a woman she respects tell her
@Ez G are you saying ,sir , that just being tough makes you a man? What about Those that were born with silver spoon, can they ever become man ? Bc they never had it tough
Thank you for sharing this. I am a divorced mom of two boys and I’m always yelling about grooming. They are only teens but it’s never too early to learn from Uncle Kevin!
This brotha put me on to so many fragrances that really do drive women crazy: Ambre Nuit, Grand Soir, Oud Satin Mood, and Spicebomb Extreme. Go out and get them for yourself.
Man, let me tell you. You are not lying about the spicebomb. I personally am not to fond but the compliments I have got in the past. I also would like to add the beu de chanel. I work in the healthcare and the people around me have gave me an absurd look of approval and compliments.
This was the video that took me to another level. I will never forget what KS meant to me. I hate that a lot of people didn’t get to see this aspect of his teachings. Rest well Sir, you touched many and will never be forgotten.
I always come back to this video. I had good style before I started watching Kevin's videos but this shit right here is an absolute GOLDMINE. Rest in Power, Godfather.
I watched the entire thing and I tools notes... This is future advice for my next generation family and others out there. I feel more like a man than ever...
I feel you. Feeling more of a man myself having watched, and learned more, in 2 hrs from a complete video than my father (in nearly 43 years of my life) ever had the time to teach me.
KEVIN THIS IS PRICELESS!!!!! I am 26 years old, my father is very active in my life (He's an AMAZING FATHER) and he taught me most of the things you are tryingto convey to these man and that is why I am here to thank you for it! Let's keep ourselves up my brothers!
Rip to Mr.Samuels I don’t think you realized you helped out the next generation of men who weren’t fortunate enough to have this type of knowledge growing up
Any teenager watches this PLEASE take notes. I got a wake up call when I (25m) lost a gf that's (30f) because of the way I carry myself. I never had a father figure in my life but now I'm realizing how important and attractive it is to be a man for yourself and for woman to like you.
Thank you for everything you have done for me Kevin! As a lost 22 year old I can honestly say your message is one of the reasons I didn't off myself. It is still very hard to grasp the fact that you have passed on. I will miss you very much, may you find peace wherever your soul has traveled.
So I'm not alone. I swear the end of this video truly showed his heart. He started out firm and then calmed down and had a life changing message. This video saved me life frfr.
I rewatch this so many times just because of all the facts Kevin’s speaks in it. My aunt who raised me taught me all of these things and they paid off. Whenever a lady came over to my dorm/apartment they always complement me on how good it smells and clean my place is.
Last year, l made it a point to purchase a matching set of stone cookware. Enough to serve 8. Top of the line silverware & glasses. Get a set of Orgreenic cookware & Corning Ware. Expensive, but well worth it. Non stick is not good for men. I'm working on the rest of my house
