A note for new cat owners. I have found that when you hold cats they do not like for their legs to dangle. So when you hold them support their rear legs. They will be more relaxed and trusting.

MY EX WIFE HAD A SIAMESE CAT THAT WAS PICKED ON BY HER OTHER 3 CATS. THE OTHER 3 CATS WOULD JUST TERRORIZE THIS SIAMESE CAT TO THE POINT THAT SHE WAS STARVING AND ALWAYS HIDING. I CONVINCED HER TO GIVE ME THE CAT. IT WAS THE MOST LOVING CAT I HAD EVER HAD. IF I OVERSLEPT IT WOULD JUMP ON MY CHEST AND PAW ME TO WAKE UP. SHE WAS BETTER THAN ANY ALARM CLOCK.

Yes siamese cat need to be cuddle and spend time with him they need a special diet like pumkie with chicken soup like a puree. My used to ask me for architoke when i was eating but it has to be the soft heart part of the architoke. He also ask little pieces of sprout. They need so much care and attention. He die holding my hands when he was very old.

I've had many cats. Most do like to have their ears rubbed, but my cat, Riley, hates it. She was a rescue and I don't know what went on with her ears prior to my knowing her. I respect her wishes and leave her ears alone. I know she loves me and knows that I love her.

Bonded to 5 cats lol 4 feral I took in and another one that was fixed and chipped but someone abandoned her at my job for a few years a beautiful Russian blue. She looked like a werewolf but I won her over and eventually took her home after a bath and plenty of love she’s beautiful I mean she was beautiful regardless. Working on 3 more feral kittens now as well. They’re almost weened from feeding off mom as they’ve been eating the wet food I leave for them and everyday I move the bowls closer when I feed they’re getting braver and more trusting even getting the slow blinks going ❤️

Every cat that's ever owned me has come to me for head touches. Whenever I'd sit, someone would come for tickles. The Golden Rule is to always be very gentle and respect boundaries! ❤ Forced petting will rebound on the offending hand! 😂

I don't know... My two cats both love a head rub even harder scratches on the top of the skull. One loves a tummy rub the other would't want any of that. One loves a foot massage but only on the rear paws. The front paws are off limits. The other wouldn't let touch any of his paws at all.

Really, I thought all cats hated to have their paws touched. I thought maybe it was because they instinctively want to maintain the element of surprise with their weaponry, or else maybe the paws are easily injured. The kitten I have now seems to like having her pads gently massaged. And accepts strokes to the rest of the foot. Once she realized that my hand can touch her gently, she doesn't seem to care where it happens, except being partial to the head, cheeks, chin, ears. Those spots cause her whole body to vibrate to her purring.

I found that when carrying most cats that I've had that becomes anxious, you can rapidly jiggle squeeze a place on their body and it causes instant calm like giving them assurance that you mean well for the journey.

About a month after my precious orange tabby Moose passed, someone dropped a small orange kitten off here at our house. She was about six months, but pregnant. I guess her age and size claimed two of three kittens, but one is a survivor. He is a year old now. As soon as he started to move around it quickly became clear that he does not like being petted at all! I think the 'tickle' and 'chill' sensations may even be painful to him. Anyhow, we're very close and he even sleeps on my lap some, with his mom. I can now scratch his head a bit, maybe a couple strokes on his back. But I know he has a very small threshold of tolerance for petting. He simply doesn't care for it much.

My cat rolls over on her back on my bed when I get home. She lets me place my face in between her front legs and my lips on her tummy, and I blow raspberries on her tummy. She loves it. She always starts purring when I do it. We are very close.

I have two cats in my house. One of them is older and only like cuddles on her terms. When she wants love she will seek me out and definitely get pettings. The other one is younger but is constantly demanding affection when I'm doing things around the house. I'm sometimes stuck with her leaning her hip onto my leg and she won't leave until I have snuggled her enough.

My cat loves to be petted on her head and sides. When she does not want to be petted, she swipes away my hand in a very decided manner. I never pick her up, because cats don't like that - they want to be able to control their environments, & picking them up does not allow them to do that.

Try having someone approach your forehead from above very quickly with a flat horizontal hand. It's horrible. Approach from below, the side, & slowly. On kitties' back just above tail was missed in this video, but it is not threatening & is another area many cats like. If kitty pushes up against your fingers then you know he/she is enjoying it, & if not, desist. Under neck almost always good, but cat has to give you permission. Imagine if people-Le kept trying to pet you. Petting is a mutual joy, but joy is always with mutual consent. Your kitty will always say yes or no. Learn to read the response when you hold your hand up and pause, unless you've been head bunted...

Really???!! I've had 5 cats one for 20 years then adopted others sequentially from shelters as adults . All became very loving companions and never minded any type of pets love or attention and slept with me. So ihave never experienced what you are saying

Alot of these people talk like they were in a room with 1000cats and asked them questions and the cats answered them like professors. Made up crap. It's easy. If you start to pet your cat starting at the head. Ir pulls away everytime. Your cat might not like it's head touched.

My cats each like massages from my reaching tool/grabber, even at the base of their tail. My younger cat doesn’t like belly rubs, you will get bitten but not hard. She’ll run away but then come back and guide herself into your hands to show you where she prefers to be petted.

My cat loves her head stroked she also loves me stroking both sides of her mouth, goes wild for a belly rub and has got to have human touch at all times to the point it's like I have a magnet attached to me if I stop she holds out both front paws (that resembles that religious painting of the fingers touching🤣)until I put my hand palm up for her to lay her head in if I don't then she gives me such a mouthful of sass until I resume then she purrs so loudly I can't hear anything else lol she also knows I get up at 3am every day I don't need an alarm clock if I sleep over 3, she comes to wake me up without fail then tells me off for sleeping late🤷🤣

I have two cats and they are night and day when it comes to petting. One loves ears, head and especially his eyes rubbed, but don't touch anywhere near his back end. The other cat really doesn't like a lot of head type petting. A little bit, but mostly he loves the back hip area rubbed the most.

I have a new kitten who is 8 months old now and she doesn't want to be held, doesn't sleep with me, and hates when I clip her claws, but that must be done. Or else they can grow so long that they can curl under and imbed in her little paws. I give her treats but I don't know how to win her over. She likes to be pet when she's on the floor or laying in her cat tree. And she likes anything interactive like the lazer pointer or a string. I want to try a cat puzzle toy that might keeper buisy. I know there's no guarantees, but I know if she doesn't like it I'll just take it back. 😕

Young cats are very active and have loads of energy, they do tend to calm down with age. Not all cats like being picked up and carry around. Colder temperatures can help to get your cat to sleep with you. As soon as the temperatures drop, your cat will start to cling onto you.

Well, never clipped my cats nails. Ever. And they have never grown under. Put down the clippers momma . Now. You’re trying way too hard. You’re watching too many stupid videos. Truly. I’ve had bozo Cats since 1970 usually about three or four, but I stay now at about six rescue babies here at the house. 17 yo down to youngest at 6. Now that I’m old as dirt I keep my age in mind to take care of them… One hopefully helpful idea that has worked for many cat people: #1 .. ever adopt only one cat. Ever…a single cat needs a buddy to plot against you And Rule the world 🙀❤️ you are wanting your cat to be what u think it wants to be..but they need someone like them to learn from and who wants to intercede. as your bozos chase, bite at, trip, fight, growl..you name it going on..but meaning owners who hear cats arguing jump in to try to stop the battle + defeats the swatting around they have to do to learn how tp love each other in cat ways. But once they use the same litter boxes and share poop and pee smells, they figure out it’s a friend. Not enemy. And they are OK. With great nutrition and cold water they will love you…fond foifvtgat is tasty … not crap food or overly pushed boring as hell overly expensive stuff …theyvwill hate you and it..find cats treats they live,,not you.. candy cat treats from Trader Joe’s one year and the cat kind of like them. They were OK. Expensive. But they also with cat nip and chicken and some thing else. I thought they were crap but all the cats just absolutely had a ball. So what. They enjoyed them. Of course the laser thing and all that but some of the baseline things that you have in your house makes far more fun. Got a couple boxes that you haven’t thrown out yet? There you go. Or buy a little run through the tunnel at IKEA. Buy five or six little ding, ding balls, or fuzzy balls. Give them two or three open basic brown paper bags to run into that make too much noise and one hides, and one jumps on the other. Total fun, total joy. You will have kittens to grow up to love you dearly as cats. I promise you. And you don’t have to spend a ton of money on toys for a cat to have fun. That’ll joke, you buy them tray that comes in a box and they play with the box. It’s weird, but it really works. Would not lie to you have fun most of all. We get a second baby. Unless you’ve got one of those but it’s so clinical they will tell you know. In that case find a vet in your area this is a sure do another and maybe a third baby that needs to be rescued. He will turn into a true cat mama. And find that they will snuggle and they will love you gave them the world that they want to knock the world. OK lecture done. I apologize. Time to see what my little bozos are up to..far too quiet. Peace. (This has a lot of typos, and I apologize. My eyes are not good this morning so I’m not seeing too well. So if there’s any bad words in it, please forgive me folks. But I think the general messages to see what your cats be. It’s like little kids. Only they’re easier. Peace and blessings everyone.
