You can also forge weapons by adding some materials, and also don't forget to check you rust weapons by pushing x. 99% of the time you get an iron version, but some times you can get some good weapons.
Yes I highly advise doing that for the early game. For steel weapons it is nearly half the cost of buying new. If you forge or temper weapons at all they will be significantly stronger and more durable. YOUR TEMPERED WEAPONS ARE WORTH HOLDING ON TO PLEASE DO NOT DISCARD
Logan's Login I think the fact is, Arlo isn’t as big on Fire Emblem as he is other franchises. It’s very likely he just wanted to get enough of an idea of it for the video, so he can put it down and review other things.

The japanese TV commercial for the first FE on the famicom features an opera section singing about how the game is so addicting you'll never go to sleep. (sung to the tune of the Fire Emblem theme to boot)
Aye. Breath of the Wild got a couple that fixed at least 85 to 95% of the wonky performance issues, so hopefully at least one of these style of patches comes FE3H's way.
Overall the game was delayed about 8 months past its initially-intended release date. Unfortunately, I'm guessing there's very little additional optimization to be squeezed out of the engine. Thankfully its a turn-based strategy game so the subpar performance can be overlooked far more easily than basically any other genre (and this is coming from someone who is a Switch+PC Gamer w/ a high-end, high-refresh rate setup!)
Personally have no problems with load times, there all pretty fast, the textures could be better but it’s there first game on the system and they had problems making it so I can forgive them if texture aren’t the best
My biggest gripe is the painfully low resolution of the background images, particularly the skyboxes. Next time you're exploring the monastery, look straight up at the clouds! It's horrible!
Honestly I fell in love with this game the second I started playing it. The characters, the music, the story, the gameplay is all just unbelievable to me. I've absolutely loved every second of it, and I'm almost positive it is my game of the year. I think it's really beautiful... I guess it's just me though. I really enjoyed the visuals, sorry kids.
Fable Joey I don’t think the visuals are ugly either, but Arlo made good points. Some of those texture resolutions are... sad. I’ll say this though, there is something about the style they’ve been using for the last almost decade that I’m not a big fan of. I like the artwork in the GBA games, and notably in Shadows of Valentia, better than what they use now. I think it was Fire Emblem Awakening that started the current style.
I already like Fire Emblem but they added a Persona like structure to it. Its so addicting. I've been playing 3 hours every night after work since the game came out. When I played Persona 3 and 4 I did the same thing for months.
The game was beautiful, packed with story, activities, battles, and it's one of the bets games I've ever played. As long as the textures aren't Pokémon trees, I'm happy

But also I think for me it's just, I don't really see "graphical" issues, or problems, as much as others, or when I do they never bothered me. I also actually think they did wonderful things with the attack animations and what not. There's lots of flaws for sure, but for me nothing game breaking whatsoever.
I think he was pretty clear with that. He doesn't like anime. And one of the reasons is because of the bad/cheesy English dub voice acting in a lot of it. But this one isn't bad.

Harrison Lane imo Edelgard has the best character. her and Dimitri have so much more of a back story and actual character depth to them compared to Claude.

One of the best games this year for me. I absolutely adore this game. Now let's see how the fire emblem community takes it, I hope it unites the somewhat divided fan base
My worry is that the og fans and the 3ds era fans might finally unite only for the new fans from this game (its selling super well and its alot of people's first fe game) to disturb the peace. I already see new players getting off on the wrong foot with older fans.
From what I can tell, it actually does in the best way that it could have. Let's not forget that most of the "old school Geneology fans" and such were actually introduced to the series the same way anyone older than 20 today was: Smash Melee and FE7 for the GBA. Those players delved online to find the emulators and fan translations that would allow them to play the old gems that were only released in Japan. For this game to be successful, it needed to toe the line between "hardcore tactical" RPG and "dating sim" RPG at a level just as balanced as FE7. FE7 is generally considered to be somewhat easy, and light on relationships. It had hard modes and support conversations, but it was neither as slaughteringly difficult as Thracia 776 nor as weabo-pandering as Fates. It was light, but it was balanced -- a good introduction. Three Houses seems to have taken all the good things the series has and refined, increased, and innovated in a way that can please all the fans who enjoy that middle ground between "styles" that really can be joined in a single game that pleases all the fans. That's really hard to do in a series with a split base! Arlo said it best when he described the satisfaction of being able to choose between wandering the monastery or doing extra battles. A reasonable allowance to skip the part you don't like in favor of the part you do gives fans much more wiggle room to meet in the middle.
No need to worry, one of the most picky FE players I know loves this game (He liked Awakening enough, thought Fates was trash and Echoes was a lot better than Fates). Someone like me who’s played FE games before but never really finished them and kind of agree with my veteran friend am hooked on this game and haven’t tried to play another game in the meantime which is big for me. And then another buddy of mine where he knows the FE characters from Smash but nothing beyond that picked this game up and he’s enjoying it as well and is flying through the fame in comparison to me.
Arlo, I’m going to let you in on a little secret that I don’t see anyone talk about: Support Conversations are the “X Factor” that give Fire Emblem its edge over other RPGs. Getting to know all of your units on an intimate level & seeing their history/behavior with one another isn’t something a lot of RPGs do. Gaining support with a strong unit makes you more invested in their personality, or maybe there will be a unit you’re indifferent to but once you start reading their supports & learn more about them you’re completely sold on them (Jaffar, Lethe & Gregor are great examples of this)! And since those units become more personal to you, perma-death stings just a little bit more when it’s someone you care about. It makes every unit feel a little more alive & I don’t know why so few people bring this up! Honestly I credit a good chunk of Awakening’s success on the fact it was the 1st FE to remove support limits. In Pre-Awakening FEs, each unit could only have 5 support conversations TOTAL, which was a huge disservice IMO.
You are absolutely correct. Support Conversations are my favorite part of every Fire Emblem game... and are no doubt one of the main reasons why Shadow Dragon is my least-liked.
The problem with Awakening was that the writing was bad. Same for Fates. Actually, it was even worse there. 3H has good writing and a lot of supports. They also didn't force thmself to do 3 supports every time. Sometimes they only did 2 (C,B) and sometimes one of those 3 has two parts.
Herolp I think Awakening is actually solid enough in the writing department. Not Genealogy level definitely, but it shines the most in its support convos. Overarching plot wise, it’s just too safe. Which I feel the writers did for sales, since this was supposed to be the last of the series. Writers tried to be experimental in the Tellius games but they didn’t sell well, despite the stellar writing. Then there’s Valm which we’d all rather forget. Fates, on the other hand is why I was so worried that Treehouse was overseeing the localization of 3H. The censorship and overall just terrible writing of Fates was amplified by the bad translation. For instance, the difference of characters in supports vs in the plot. 8-4 brought some of the best localization in Awakening and Echoes. Just hear the difference in the lyrics of Heritors of Arcadia vs Lost in Thoughts. 3H is what Fates should’ve been: diverging paths that I could play but don’t need to pay to play every single one. Sorry for the rant, I just feel that too many people rag on Awakening just for the sake of it.

He might even enjoy the Hashino directed Persona titles. Cause while there are some anime tropes in the games, they actually cover some pretty serious themes, and have characters that are very well written, voice acted, and even relatable at times. Just like what Arlo said about the characters in this game.
As someone who played Awakening and Fates, I'm also shocked how all the support conversation are fully voiced and animated. You can tell that a lot of love went into the game, unlike Pokémon. But I guess, this game was delayed as well, and Pokémon just can't be delayed.
Consider picking up Echoes: Shadows of Valentia! That game is fully voiced as well, and it's amazing. The gameplay is admittedly a little lacking, but the presentation leaves me loving the game regardless.
It's because the actual game can only be properly experienced with the Black Eagles. I've got a 70 something hour file on Black Eagles already and I intend to do my next play through (if that ever happens) with the Black Eagles again. The BE story is just fantastic.

What "happened" with the graphics is that they focused on what matters most and that is character models. The character models are beautiful and every character has been fully modeled for all classes, with beautiful models every time, which takes crazy amounts of work. it's easy to see the fruit baskets on the Eastern Merchant stand are really not a priority when even a thorough player isn't gonna spend more that 2 minutes per in-game month displaying them, and if that's what brought us all these beautiful character models, i'll even say I'm glad they made that sacrifice. Also, these PS2 game comparisons need to go away. If you think this looks like a PS2 game, I'll gladly invite you to my place to remind you what PS2 games looked like.
yeah, there's a whole lot of people saying things look like PS2 games when they're generally way closer to early (i.e., not the best possible) PS3, or very good Wii games, at worst.
I'll have to agree on all fronts here. The gameplay is so fun and the character models are so good, combined with the immersive story telling and character building, the background graphics never really bugged me at all.. Sure, it's definitely no Breath of the Wild or Witcher 3, but saying it looks like a PS2 game? Anyone who makes that claim doesn't remember what PS2 games looked like. It looks to me like an early PS3 game, which for a game like this, that's fine, everything else about this game is fantastic, and the backgrounds really don't look THAT bad.
The texturing could use some work, I can count the pixels on some of the character's outfits, it's mostly fine but it bothers me that everybody is pissed off at pokemon for having a poorly textured tree in a prerelease version but FE3H drops with worse textures and nobody cares. I mean the gameplay and writing in amazing and that's what really matters, but I'm just saying the textures need a bit of work in some places
@@Schneeregen_ The reactions have much to do with the current state of the series. FETH kept adding and adding content, so people are okay to give a pass to the graphics that look good enough, and there are only a few places that really aren't. Pokémon is in a kurfuffle about its dropped monsters to "make better graphics", so when those graphics turn out to be sub-par, people get upset.

@@Wernershnitzl Definitely should play the first two, linking your progress from the original to Lost Age was a bit of a hassle, but it unlocked a bonus boss guarding the two strongest summons in the game. Lost Age in general was just about the perfect RPG, had great story that really expanded on the first game, engaging characters, neat psynergy, and a wonderful soundtrack. I actually still play my copy occasionally
There’s not much competition other than Xenoblade, which isn’t exactly a fair fight since Xenoblade only has 3 games. (Meanwhile, Pokémon is just going on a downhill slope that the extra news provided a few days ago seems to have done next to nothing to help).

I didnt notice the low quality visuals until you mentioned them. Goes to show you how little i care about that aspect. The frame rate drops when youre sprinting at the school though i def noticed.
GOTY for me imo, and 60hours deep! The game becomes more Fire Emblem-ish after the timeskip with more weight in the death quotes, war, all that fun stuff.
I think part of the reason for it's rather poor visuals is because it's running on a modified Warrior's Engine (which haven't really been very visually impressive)
Still feel like this isnt really an excuse.. like dont get me wrong.. even tho I cant play the game myself I still absolute love it but like.. it really shouldnt look this fucking bad.. I mean I honestly have to say this is not all too much better than Pokemon Sword and Shield.. and thats depressing to think of lol
@@fionavar6607 It's not quite that bad. At least this game has excellent character models, bar the odd low-res texture. Otherwise, though, this game is pretty visually unimpressive. But it plays great, and sounds fucking incredible. Seriously, the sound design in this game is top notch and it had one of the best OSTs in the series.

@@fionavar6607 The unimpressive visuals are certainly disappointing, but at least this game has tremendous quality in other areas to fall back on. Honestly, I feel like the series advancement will be similar to what happened on the 3DS. Awakening basically wrote the playbook for how the 3DS FEs worked, but it was visually pretty bare bones, like a lot of early 3DS titles. Then they stepped it up quite significantly in Fates, and then again in Echoes, which is about as visually well-presented as the 3DS would allow for. So I have hope for the next game.
This game is easily My favorite game on switch. I loved Odyssey but this games content is insane to me. I beat Odyssey and it was fun but after I 100% it got stale to me. The fun of finding all the secrets and Easter eggs was great but after doing it that one time. It wasn’t as fun the next time. But I have 4 paths in this game and each path I can have my students Be different classes and have different skills and such
Certainly best Fire Emblem game, even topping the legendary Genealogy and Thracia imo However the monastery can get a bit boring after only 50 hours of playtime already and since i have only played on hard classic so far (which really should be called normal mode cuz it's kinda easy for a supposed hard mode) i had to make sure to take everything i can with me which means monastery twice a month at least
I played FE awakening demo and loved it but never bought it. This is my first FE game that I bought and I’m loving it, I think that you should buy it, or buy it pre owned so if you don’t like it you can return it.
This is also my first FE game and I haven't gotten very far into it yet but from my perspective it seems like a fine starting point. Mainly because I'm pretty sure the story is disconnected from every other FE game, like they never mention Marth or Ike or anything so you wouldn't be missing info going into the game (I could be wrong since I'm not far into it but I think I saw someone else say this too)
I personally think this is a great starting point for the series if for no other reason than it's way to being considered one of the best in the entire series. FE games are mostly standalone stories, so you don't need to worry about having missed anything from past games. I have been a "sometimes" FE player. I played 7, Path of Radiance, Awakening, and now Three Houses. I feel like this is easily the most fun I've had with the series. And I'm only 30 hours in, but I already feel more attached to this cast of characters than any previous FE game I've played. The customization is insane... The replay value is off the charts... This is an slam-dunk easy buy as far as I'm concerned.
For anyone unaware, replace the tactical strategy parts with turn-based JRPG dungeon crawling and you have a Persona game. Just in case you were into one series and were unsure about if you’d like the other

TheGrayGhost if you’re planning on getting it I’d recommend waiting for Persona 5: Royal which is essentially a beefed up, extended version of the game kinda like Pokémon Ultra Sun/Moon. That’s what I’m doing, despite really wanting to play.

Great reviewpression just know that all weapons CAN be repaired in by the blacksmith. its significantly less costly than buying a whole new weapon. also its highly worth it if you temper your weapon at all. That way you will retain all of its Mt you acquired. The black smith will repair the Sword of the Creator as well so don't rest if you plan on spamming that weapon. Also this was the tipping point to convince me to finally get a Nintendo Switch. FE:3H is the first game i played on the Switch so it looks fine to me
Just wanting to inform you about something regarding your comment about "Intelligent Systems having made prettier looking games." Only 17 employees of I.S. were credited for working on this game, the majority of the 'gruntwork' was done by Koei Tecmo. While I.S. probably made most of the important decisions and decided how the plot would move along, the majority regarding models, animations and textures can probably be accredited to Koei Tecmo. I.S. probably asked them for help after working with them on FE:Warriors
It REALLY sucks they asked Koei Techmo because most of the game`s problems can be attributed to them. (Besides Crimson Flower and Silver Snow. That was IS) IMAGINE if monolift soft would have designed the backgrounds, monestary etc. They probably would have been the same price as well...
To be fair I'd definitely watch a late review. This is the game I've been most excited to hear your thoughts on since it's your first Fire Emblem game. =D
I agree with Arlo! All of the little micromanaging that you do contributes to your overall team strength and cohesion - but it's not completely necessary
That's exactly the reason why I haven't picked this up yet and I don't know when I will although I want it badly! But I'm deep into DQB2 and have pre-ordered Link's Awakening and Dragon Quest XI S. I have Mario Maker 2 and practically haven't touched it. Astral Chain? I'd probably love it but the backlog is humongous. Why did this release year have to be so lopsided?

It does not look like a ps2 game... Looks more like Tales of Vesperia but with less cell shading. So an Xbox 360 game. Then again I'm playing on Handheld mode...
From someone who has played 1000s of hours of games on 360, this game does not look as good as any of those games. I have also owned a 3ds for an extended period of time, it does look like an upscaled 3ds game.

It's definitely a good one to start with! I've played many fire emblem games and some of the older titles are not really newcomer friendly but this one is very easy to get
Yeah FE games are mostly stand alone stories. So no need to have played previous titles. Also, this may well be the best game in the series to date. It's just so damn customizable with so much replay value...
Fire Emblem is my all time favorite series that I don't like. There's so much I love about the games: the worlds, the stories, the characters, the music, etc., but I just do NOT like tactical RPGs. I've watched the "movies" of the recent games, read the wikis for several of the older games and watched so many of the support conversations from past games, but I've never played a single one of them. I really want to love this series, but I just can't.
Idk, man. Just try a couple of the games out, especially this one or Echoes maybe. There's a feature built into those two that lets you turn back time if you screw up, which is helpful for new players. Plus there's casual mode, if you want it

I've played tactical games before, from Final Fantasy Tactics to South Park: The Fractured But Whole, and couldn't stand any of them. I love turn based and action RPGs, they're actually my favorite genre of games, but tactical games just annoy the piss out of me
I honest to god believe it looks ok. The backgrounds aren't impressive but they get the job done, I believe the character models look very nice and for this kind of game, which focuses so much on their faces and their actions, it's ok. I honestly only care about the graphics when I'm supposed to be fully immersed into the world Mario Odyssey/Breath of the Wild-style. The Monastery is just, there, it's nice to explore and all, but in the end it's only used to find certain characters and talk to them.

I agree with pretty much everything here. The art style is great, the character portraits are great, the cutscenes are awesome, the opening is cool, the menus look just fantastic, the battle forecast window, combat animations, so much of it has so much style and personality. The character models are great too. There are some shockingly low res textures here and there on a random wall or a tray of food or a bookshelf, but they really do the job from any level of distance.
My only beef with the graphics came from the second I looked up at the sky in the monastery. Those clouds... WTF??? Did they just forget to zoom out?? The pixels are as big as Byleth's head!! It's especially weird since in battles, the cloud art is perfectly fine. I don't know much about graphics or optimization, but I'm pretty sure that replacing a rotating Google Image search thumbnail in the skybox with a 5mb jpeg wouldn't crash your framerate.

Yeah it's a real shame they're not that polished. But tbh, it's clear that so much effort was put into every other aspect if this game, that I'm okay with the visuals being subpar. And, unlike pokemon, they aren't advertising the game as "the first fully HD fire emblem game". They're focusing on gameplay, stories, and characters first, and presentation second. But every aspect of presentation aside from the visuals (voice acting, music, etc) is top notch so I'm happy with it overall
Well this is the first game on the new engine tho so i assuem they kinda had to make some graphical compromises for now, next game is gonna look better tho, let's hope it's the long awaited Fire Emblem 4 remake
Graphics didn't really bother me. I thought it was a huge improvement from the last game and Fire Emblem has never really been a series for good graphics. It's not that important to the series

I'm perfectly fine with the graphics, I would like a higher framerate, but I'm spoiled by my 144hz pc setup. The game play is what makes these games, and honestly, the meh backups and cell shaded toons is kinda FEs stile sence awakening.
So apparently Intelligent Systems outsourced the visuals and programming to Techmo Koei of China, Vietnam, etc because they were "so impressed with their work on FE Warriors". Ironically, I think they did a worse job that IS could have done in house.
your awakening recommendation makes me laugh but echoes is pretty good... minus the maps... and the hitrates. if you want a real recommendation, if you're looking for story, play path of radience or the sacred stones, gameplay, new mystery of the emblem, fates conquest, absolute pain, genealogy of the holy war
I really don't care that much about the graphics. I understand that it may bother some(and its fine, they don't look awesome), but for me, they looked just average. Even though I was completely sold by the gameplay, characters, and story, which are really outstanding. The amount of content its also another point in favor. Each house has a different story than the other. The first part of the game may be similar storywise for the houses, but the second part its a different story and students/units you will have at your disposal. And it's not a different point of view, some things may or may not happen depending on which house you choose. Also, this time you determine the classes of your students/units so if you want a second playthrough(some elements of the story may incentivize a second playthrough regarding certain decisions you take) or recruit other classes units, you can play them differently each time.
My first ever Fire Emblem game and it's incredible. I'm so addicted. It's my GOTY so far. Only Pokemon or Astral Chain could potentially change my mind. But we will see...

Tbh i have a theory as to why Awakening was meh at best and Fates was horrible, with Awakening they did what in German is called a Demiere which is the opposite of a premiere and is normally done at the last time of presenting a play in which the actors change up small things that normally aren't supposed to be like that and only people that paid attention to it can see the joke behind it For Fates they probably were already packing up the Fire Emblem studio and Nintendo just suddenly told them to quickly make another one so they just threw some stuff together hoping the fans would buy it and the old fans would forgive them for it for now They then made Echoes sort of as an apology and made Heroes to keep the new fans happy (and made it more likable for older fans later on) They now put out this amazing game, inspired by FE4, which is known to be the best game in the franchise basically telling us that they're back and hey, am be well get a FE4 remake next

@@Navarchil i played all 3 routes and it's got pretty good gameplay in Conquest, the other 2 are just as horrible if not worse than Awakening So if you wanna play Fates, just go play a Conquest and skip all the dialogue, then you should have a pretty good Fire Emblem game cuz while Conquest has the best map design and enemy placement it also probably has the worst writing out of the 3 with the exception of that Ryoma moment which is honestly the only piece of the story that felt above the quality of og FE1 fantranslated writing, fuck the elephant level alone had better writing than most of Fates combined and that was literally just a map with a guy screaming Elephant
Arlo playing Fire Emblem warms my heart!! Also, my first playthrough (Golden Deer) ended at like 65 hours. And there are still other routes to play!! And I also want to replay Golden Deer just because I grew attached to the characters! It's easily a 200+ hours game.
Glad you're enjoying it. Fire Emblem is one of my favorite series, right behind Zelda, but even then I have to agree about the quality of the game running around the monastery. I wouldn't go so far as to call it ugly, but it could be better. Maybe if they took the pets around the monastery out and repurposed that data into touching up the graphics, maybe it would be better. Overall though, I absolutely love this game!
KaioKenZilla YOU NEED THIS GAME! ITS ADDICTING AND SATISFYING AND ALL THE GOOD STUFF! It might be my game of the year, or maybe even favorite game on switch! But we’ll have to wait and see if Luigi’s mansion 3 can beat out fire emblem. I’m sure it’s gonna be a marvelous time but I think fire emblem will take the cake. My point is this game is astounding, definitely a must own for people with switches, along with breath of the wild, Mario odyssey, Mario kart 8, and splatoon 2
Jordan3D wouldn’t say fe7 is the best game to start when it has a 10 chapter long forced tutorial that basically plays itself. I’d say Fe8 is the best beginner game. Fe8 has a good tutorial that even manages to teach you about rescue dropping of all things and is pretty easy throughout. This game’s not an awful place to start either.

FINALLY someone said how atrocious the textures look. It bothered since the first trailer and every time i mentioned it all i got was downvotes. Also who the hell decided to use cell shaded characters on realistic textured background.
This game confuses me so much. I actually like it? I've literally never liked a fire emblem before. Its the first game where I feel like I could actually play in classic mode and it doesnt feel like I'm trying to give myself an aneurysm.
Classic mode in this game is kinda redundant tho considering they give you over 15 chances to turn back time once the levels start getting hard, then again you don't really have replacement units like in every other title so the death of a unit is actually a loss in this game
Oh boy. Dimitri all the way. Finished Blue Lions after 60 hours and i was blown away. I won't delve into spoiler territory, suffice to say you're in for an epic ride!!
Well, after 95 hours i finally did it. And I have no words. When i saw the ending, I just sat down on the floor for a good minute. That was one great game and it was worth all my time and money.
I kinda really value good graphics in games, I obviously value gameplay more but it is hard for me to get past ugly games, not keeping me from enjoying the game
If there is one thing The Fire Emblem fanbase doesn’t care about, it’s the graphics. For goodness sake, the most beloved entry in the franchise is a SNES game.
22 hours in and I'm hooked. I'll see how the late game fairs, but for now this might be the first game I consider a new game+ from start to finish, maybe even multiple playthroughs (Fire Emblem Awakening couldn't do that btw.) I can wholeheartedly agree on almost eveything, this game, aside from performance hickups, is a polished gem. However I cannot see this game as ugly. Dull and a bit empty, yes, but considering the upgrade from the Handheld FE games, this game is a huge upgrade. I really enjoy the zoom in view when an action on the battlefield starts and the battalions, while not as impactful on their own, give a sense of scale to the battles, that always seemed to lack in previous installments.
I agree -- the battalions are a genius addition from the Warriors team at KT that really help it get past the earlier series' suspension of disbelief problems. I'd just gotten used to reading "Look out! It's the ______ army!" and seeing like 14 dudes pop out of the trees and that's it. Now it feels like you're really engaging in full-scale war, and it's awesome.
Yeah, compared to BotW,Smash, etc. this game's fugly. But everything else is polished enough that it doesn't bother me. I can totally see inteligent systems dropping some patches to smooth things out and whatever next FE game comes it'll look much, much better.
Watched this after the Engage video, and my first thought upon hitting play was "dang I forgot Nintendo used to be cool enough to send Arlo review copies of their games"
Bro, I have never played a Fire Emblem game before and was on the fence about trying this game. I also don’t like anime games which put me off a bit. However, I decided to buy it and it was SO worth it. Even for a newcomer to the series, it is one of the best games on the Switch, trust me. Seriously, if the game interests you even slightly, go for it because you will definitely enjoy it!

I had no idea how much it being fully voice acted would mean to me. It made the game so much more immersive. I thought "Surely it isn't all voiced acted, it's just important sections and cutscenes. There's waaay too much dialogue in a FE game. It keeps going, well, it must only be important characters, right? NPCs without names don't need voices. Did they seriously voice every line for every character? They even did all the supports! How much money and time did this take?!" But it was worth it in my eyes, and I fear I've become a bit spoiled, I want as many games to be fully voiced acted as possible, and I want the Auto Advance feature on the dialogue too so I don't have to press A over and over through a long conversation if I don't want to.
I played FR echoes, and I LOVED IT... Playing this one, I enjoyed the battles, but I haven't gotten into the exploring and teaching stuff... But this reveiwmpressions has mafe.me want to give the game another chance.

All I can say about this game so far is this: it made me fall in love with a nameless gatekeeper NPC. If that doesn't get across how much I like it, I don't know what will.

Most of the time, bad games look bad. Some bad games look amazing despite the rest of the games quality. But rarely do great games look like shit. This is a great game that looks like shit. I hope their next goal is to make the sequel with the same A+ writing, acting, and combat. But fix the character models so they aren’t so robotic and fix the overworld so it looks like a switch game.
