When wiring Ten Pines I accidentally ended up with the "sparking effect" just hanging in the air. Eventually I moved the settler summoning bell over it and declared it a lantern.

I’ve already had this issue. It’s due to a glitched wire being “suspended” somehow. Solution is just to find out which wire made the spark, pick it up then place it back

Going to be honest, ive been subbed to you for years but kinda forgot/moved away from your videos since my Fallout 4 on Xbox got kinda screwy and life happened. The fact that you're STILL doing these kinds of things and still with such enthusiasm is amazing. I use mods, alot of mods, as many as i can cram into that 2gb of space on the Xbox one, and the fact that you still do all of your design with vanilla glitches is honestly inspiring

I am in the same boat as you. Spent a solid 3/4 years on a save with as many console mods as I could use. Finally my Xbox just couldn't take it anymore and my file could no longer function. Just picked up the game again after a 2 year hiatus and this channel is my number 1 inspiration for vanilla building. The mods are so tempting though... but I'm worried my Xbox won't be able to handle it again 😅

Another fantastic vid from Paul who exemplifies the spirit of the ‘creativity’ quote shown at the beginning of the piece. As so many others have said, without the No Mods Shop Class, I never would have played Fallout or got a fraction of the enjoyment out of it that I have. I truly have been Skooled son 😁

Something I saw in some build videos was a container, the really long one with drawers often used in garages/workshops, that was rug/pillar glitched into an armor workbench. The fire pit was visible and the top of the workbench perfectly rested on top of the container. It fit so well!

My man! Rewatching your videos inspired me to reinstall Fallout 4. I DO have mods, BUT none that affect the building at all so I still learn from your videos. Just to add, I feel that even people who use mods can learn something from every single one of your videos. Great builder, great man.

Love the video Paul! It's funny how some people are very "stuck" in the assets just being what they are and nothing more. My recent no mods fireplace involves using a bit of imagination and I had one player/commenter really trash it because I dared to use wood as part of its construction! Excellent message in this video. Some of the most creative things I've seen in builds has to do with using an object for a purpose other than the original intended one. :) Looking forward to your collab video!

I used multiple welcome mats to make a series of curved wide stairs on a wall I made.... I ended up deleting them and just using a green footlocker instead but the mats worked really well. Plus there was just something very soothing about 40+ mats stacked evenly in three separate piles. Lol

Have you thought about making mod reviews since you can use mods on console now? I think there's some interesting building/settlement mods that deserve a proper review or tutorial like for example Qwapa mod

@skooled zone, hey I finally have more info for you on the teleporters. You can only build them after getting the blueprints but you have to build them all in your settlements before using one to go into the institute. Also, build the one you are going to use on a separate circuit to the others or the other will break. I only power up the others after leaving the institute for the first time. Also, if you build multiple towers then the last one built will be the one the game thinks you are using.... To fix this go to the one you want to actually use to enter the institute and store then rebuild each component and power it up. Teleporters can not be built in nuka-world, far harbor, vault 88, or the mechanist lair (basically any dlc or creation club settlement). Have fun with the info and happy building!

Tom, Interesting way your's worked. I did mine by building some of the components about 1-3 of them each (Mostly the arches) I built them in my settlements I thought I might eventually want them at. I left them in view and did not store them. I believe that's the key. 'Don't Store Them' ... I finished the storyline, Institute destroyed and once done tried hooking an arch to power at it worked. All have fired up since then too. I can confirm your finding on the 4 locations mentioned.

@@1ClusterChuck yes do not store the ones you want to keep. Only store and re-place the one you want to use to get into the institute after you build all the others. By storing and replacing the one you know will break it resets the location your helping faction NPCs appear at. Currently I am playing with the Minutemen as my main faction... So when I built the last teleporter in Jamaica Plains... Sturges appeared and started checking the console. So I went back to sanctuary and stored/replaced the teleporter I wanted to use. Then when I powered it I could see Sturges walking back to sanctuary via my trade routes. Once he gets back (which he probably has by now) I can use the one in sanctuary.

@@tomcrowell6697 Yep, Same thing happened to me at first :D I had built another console mistakenly at another place (The Castle) and soon after Sturgis appeared. Lol. Restarted a save and rechecked Paul's video. Didn't make anymore consoles after that.

I'm Level 98 with 17 Settlements right now. Its now the game SETTLEMENTS, not Fallout 4. To me it's 2 separate games now. I went in saying I'll ignore Settlements and just play but every time it just happens. Incredibly addictive game of creation and adventure.

I'm glad you decided not to become a teacher where you lived. So you could teach people around the world. Also I think you might like the idea the RU-vidr Max Derrat has about video games. He said last week that he's currently writing a book about education through video games - and we're not talking about games designed for children, but learning by understanding what knowledge was used to make a game. Even on an academical level. Some of his favourite topics are psychology and philosophy, but there are so many more and I would love to see that this idea doesn't only get more "I like that video"-fans, but - even more importantly imo - those willing to teach. It would be so awesome, if more people knew about and added to this.

I usually use those roof toppers as fireplaces by rug glitching a campfire into them. They even look good outside in place of the fire barrels.

Been watching you for a long time I lost everything last january like my ps4 went into safe mode and I just ended up deleting everything I wasnt around any wifi and I forgot my passwords but yea youve helped me take my buiding to the next level some times I build too big an the frame rate gets all messed up any ways thanks man keep doin what you do

My question is: What do you do for the build limit without mods? I know that you can glitch the build limit by storing things while in the workshop menu, but I'm very curious how you build such large structures in settlements that have ludacris build limit restrictions.

You have the right of it. You simply drop a bunch of guns on the ground, then go into build mode, and move the guns to the workshop. You then gather all the guns up from the workshop and lather, rinse, repeat the process until you have the build limit down to where you need it. The more guns you use, the faster it will go.

I played through Fallout 4 once and got distracted/overwhelmed by how much was available and pretty much fumbled my way through just the main quest line. A few months ago I put the game back in and started following you and man, I’m having so much fun. I love that you play and design without mods bc I still want some more XBox progress achievements! I just finished a hostel design in Sanctuary using your roofing video and hopefully will have everything rewired with your deep dives on the wire glitch soon. Also very proud of my floating laser turret like your wifi spot in Sunshine Tidings. I’m having so much fun building now! Not cool enough for a settlement tour for anyone beyond my partner lol but I love it and appreciate you!

Paul's got some seriously great building talents, definitely inspired aspects of my builds during repeat playthroughs. Though I'd love to see him take a crack at Hangman's Alley, I never build there bc I just can never figure out how, or rather, what to build there

@@FuriousMaximum that's unfortunate, but usually same. The whole downtown Boston area is pretty terribly optimised. Though, I haven't had any crashes since playing on the Series X. Also, using the Vivid Fallout texture mods also helps alot because they properly pack and optimise textures, which makes the game run alot smoother while looking arguably better.

Like wire glitch never got to work before but I did duplicate glitch so I can craft till I get it right I just have so many materials now my games crashes I didn't know there was a limit to have under 100k if everything at least I think it's what's wrong

I dont know if this has been found yet, but I think I might've found an easier way to settlement size glitch without the need of storing objects. Set a few conduits near each other and when you're at your limit run a wire between them. Highlight the object you want to build, then store the wire. It counts it as storing furniture and there isnt a limit to running wires based on size limit.

That was a technique from the early days of Fallout 4 prior to people discovering the weapons storing glitch. Once the weapons became a thing everyone seemed to start doing that.

I used some creativity on one build. I was trying to recreate the Jetsons' car and I couldn't think what to use for the fins and the rods on the side of the vehicle. So I then looked and decided to use the bobble head stand. I glitched it into a vehicle and then I used a blue picture frame turned over glitched onto the stand. And I glitched the conduit rods on the side of the car for the rods that's on the side of the vehicle in the show. That small missile silo you built has given me an idea too.
