thats a sweet discovery! thats one reason why i like powders too- if i put too much on the pallet it doesn't waste like my acrylics :)

I have thinned craft paints that have been sitting around for over six years and they are still usable. I used windex to thin those, although I’m weaning myself away from using windex as I hear the ammonia destroys airbrushes (not that I’ve seen this happen so far) but yes these paints last for a long time as long as they are sealed.

Ngl, I got a lil excited when I seen Dr. Okun from independence day making youtube videos! 😂 Turns out I was a lil off here, but still glad I watched the vids! 😁 Have a good one!

Well I guess that's better than the usual "Hey look it's Santa" that I usually get. LOL. Take care and thanks for watching.

Aloha Paul, Kismet three weeks is better than one week for an actual test. Now all I need to do is see if the cheap Walmart plain washer is similar to that on the mainland. A lot of times local varieties are adjusted for the islands. With no winter season the availability is very limited. I'm thinking of converting an old food dehydrator cabinet 1 x 2 x 3 ft to a drying cabinet. Picked up at a garage sale for $10, at a minimum it should keep the shop and farm field dust from settling on the model parts.

The windshield washer fluid you get should be fine. I'm the one that has to watch out because we have multiple companies making different winter blends. Especially here in North East Ohio. Also that's a great re-purposing idea to use the cabinet to keep the dust off your models while they are drying. Does it still work? If so you may be able to use it to dry your painted parts also. Take care brother. As always I very much enjoy hearing from you.

Hi Paul, enjoy your videos. I have been looking all over the place, including Amazon, for a paint strainer like yours. I'm in the UK. Got any links for them? Cheers. Pete

Hey there pgcroc. Thanks for the kind words. The easiest way to get you to a link would be if you go to my previous video where I test windshield washer fluid to clean your airbrush. In the description is a link to the stainless steel strainers. It's a US Amazon link so I don't know if their available in the UK or not.

Forgot to say, I followed your link in your airbrush cleaning video to Amazon but they are unavailable.

Well. That sucks. I do know that they sell out from time to time. But they always come back into stock. Here's an idea. Look up filters for 3d resin printers. That is what those were actually marketed as and what I originally bought them for. Perhaps there is another vendor selling a similar product. Just skip all of the paper filters, their not reusable of course.

Hi again, Paul. Idk if you're the right person to ask, but here goes: I asked for a Gaaleri GHAD-39 airbrush for my birthday. Did I make a good choice?

Hello again right back at ya. I personally have never used that brand, nor have I even heard of that brand. That being said, I did see that it had good ratings on Amazon. Of course those ratings can be misleading. I would suggest doing a RU-vid search and see if there are any reviews over that particular model. I think I saw at least one video review pop up when I did a general Google search to check out the airbrush. I wish I could have been of more help. Take care.

What do you think about adding a drop of glycerin in the thinned paint?
@RoadsAndRailsHobbies

Well it would definitely help keep them from drying out. I've never done it myself. It would definitely be a trial and error to how much to use. Here's an idea. Give it a try and let me know what you find out. Do the hard work for me. LOL. Take care...

@@RoadsAndRailsHobbies thanks so much! So glad I found you as I have recently been trying to figure out how to use craft paints. I have some large studio scale models planned and going the model paint route just isn’t practical. So you’ve gotten yourself a new subscriber.
