Truth. It's a bit more expensive (taxes), but it's amazing compared to the competition. I've been waiting for mine for over two weeks. This is how the post office works in Denmark.😤
Bro, for quite some time now I've been browsing for a monitor but I never pulled the trigger on any of them. My money always went towards other pieces of equipment . I rarely comment on RU-vid but today I got this monitor from amazon and I just wanted to thank you for this video and for everything else that you're doing on your channel, for that matter. God bless you! ✌️ Thanks!
I was on the fence about buying this monitor because the price seemed too cheap for what it stated it offered. Thanks for easing my mind and making my choice easier. Ordered and used your link!
OSEE is great. They sent one of their 21.5" production monitors and it's a beast. this is a great budget monitor! I can't wait until we see some of these smaller budget companies start making external recorders.
I have been checking for this monitor to be in stock since this video was posted. Finally in stock tonight! (Probably won’t last long because of your video though.). Thank you!!!!
I am already considering the Osee T7 monitor, and then here's this review. Since I am always looking to save a few bucks while getting the most bang for my bucks I figured the 5 incher could save me a few dollars without sacrificing more than I am willing to. However, the T7 has 3,000 nits, which was got me interested in it at first, and then there is the difference in screen size. If it was screen size only I would change my mind and move to the 5 incher to save money, but I do shoot in bright sunlight and I don't want to sacrifice the nits, and have to crane my neck to see around the hood of the 5 incher. That being said, this 5 incher is an absolutely amazing product at this price point. And as always, amazing review.
@@johngeorgo - Check out the review by Curtis Judd. There are many other reviews as well. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-gLN2O4CGU9g.html
Feelworld F5 Pro user here. I just got it 2 months ago and it's my first monitor so I can't compare on experience. It certainly is practical and in the same price range as the reviewed Osee T5. At these prices I think it is a great incentive for anyone to get into using. Mostly I wanted to save my eyes from distinguishing the dozens of status icons on my Sony AX-700's built in screen. (Makes your rig look more impressive to casual observers too , LOL).
The first spec I look for in a monitor is nits. I have a low end field monitor that outputs 500 nits and it's pretty much unusable on sunny days. The OSEE T5 only has 450 nits, so it's a a no sell for me. For outside work you really need 1000+ nits field monitors.
@@ModSquad403 Not clickbait at all, it was that price when the video was posted; bought one instantly. Can't be expected to predict the future can he haha
I'm looking forward to the coming monitor video. I just bought an X-T3 so a monitor is something I'm definitely starting to research for now. This one looks very promising.
1000% I used my XT3 quite a bit without a monitor, and the difference a monitor makes to shooting (even if it’s a boring corporate video) is amazing (especially if you’re using log)
I remember buying a 7" smallHD monitor for $600. Given all the smartphones out there with similar sized nice screens, you know most of the physical components are out there for cheap. It has usually been the software/firmware feature set that has driven the price.
@@dslrvideoshooter are you sure SWIT isn’t just a rebrand of an OEM product? If I google OSEE products I get local ad results for SWIT, and American search results. And there are a couple of videos by people who seem to think it is the same thing. Seems to me same product is branded SWIT in UK and Scandinavia and OSEE in America.
I found it unusable because I couldn't change the opacity of the lut. It was either off or fully on and I almost always keep it less than 100%. If that's not a deal breaker for someone, then it's a great piece of gear for the price.
In that case, I would just have a LUT prepared for the camera setup that I'm using so the LUT doesn't look overpowered. Would be cool if you could do it in camera, but it's such an easy fix I don't think it should be a deal breaker.
Pretty old comment but, might still be relevant info. Phantom LUT Arri Simulation for SLOG 3 is made to be slapped on and very minorly tweaked. I find they work perfectly with this monitor and honestly any other monitor since when you purchase them, they come with monitor preview versions as well
Oddly enough, I’m currently watching tons of field monitor reviews and then you came up with this video. Thanks for letting us know about this one as well.
I have this style of monitor from Swit but 7 inch and 3000nits of brightness with joystick like this one has and maaaaan I love that interface….so quick to use….love it.

Ah, you should have released the mega monitor comparison in time for Black Friday! I'll probably buy a monitor on Friday, and then regret the purchase when you release your video.
Thanks mate, added to my wishlist, I mainly film hobby stuff in my room and run a mini HDMI cable to the tv just so I can see focus and composition better. This will help out since it is cheap ^_^
I've had an OSEE 17 inch monitor for years. For an on-camera monitor I'd want SDI so the cost will be a lot higher for me, but they're still pretty good. They've clearly lifted the interface from SmallHD but they're one of the better Chinese companies that do that kind of thing. I believe SWIT helped co-develop the monitors so you can see the same devices under their branding.
Looks suspiciously similar to the older smallHd stuff… the joystick, the zoom, the pages… it’s all quite “inspired” let’s say. I love that smallHd stuff, so I think i would prob like this one, but haha yeah, it’s kinda identical tbh.
Looking forward to your monitor comparisson video and really hoping you mention which monitors correctly interpret the levels from the camera as 0-255 or 16-235 depending on the camera output. Unfortunately the Atomos Shinobi interprets all signals as 16-235, causing the highlight and shadows to clip. This is particularly annoying when loading a custom S-Log3 conversion LUT (the inbuilt conversion doesn't look good at all) as it doesn't give an accurate representation of what the final video will look like. (This was an issue that was fixed after many user complaints with the Ninja, however it seems they never made the same fix/toggle option for the Shinobi) I tried to solve this issue by converting my LUTs in Resolve first with a Node before them to compress full levels to 16-235 and reexporting these, but unfortunately it doesn't fix the issue. It would be amazing to know which monitors correctly display 0-255 levels, particularly when using LUTs, as I will be returning the Shinobi for something else.
Did you ever find out what monitors can do this? I’ve had the same issue and no one has any info on it, it’s driving me nuts! So much money wasted. Would be amazing if anyone had more info!
I bought the Andycine A6 Plus based largely on Caleb's recommendation. It's a great monitor, but I think it's important to talk about brightness because my Andycine monitor is not conducive to outdoor shooting in the sun, even with a hood.
Yeah, same here. I shoot outdoors 99% of the time and it's killing me. I wish I had spent a little more to get a brighter screen. I hope some of the ones he reviews are seriously bright!
@@sutv6754 The 5.5" Andycine A6 Plus that I own is 500 nits. I guess it's pretty decent, but I just happened to find myself using it on very bright days. For direct sunlight, I think you really want a 1000-nit monitor.
Would have liked to see how the latency is. Doesn´t matter how good the specs are if you can´t use it properly in the field. Otherwise a great monitor for this price.
@@vidademikey9790 Sorry, but no. I ordered 5 Monitors which are all recommended by different youtubers and they all hat major ir minor Flaws. The 7" is the best and 300$ is no money
Also got this monitor and besides its awesome features, there is one major downside you forgott to mansion.. its not very bright.. Indoors is totally fine, but on a sunny day better bring another monitor with more nits.. ;)
Thanks for the tip, I’m going to use your link to scoop one of these. I usually don’t prefer “cheaper” options, as longevity tends to be an issue, but I need another monitor bad right now and this price point with its features seems like an easy buy.
It is available...under a different name! Swit CM55. Costs a little bit more as tax is included but from the short amount of research I done shows no obvious differences
Looks like a good monitor for the price. But with all the functionality coming from basically 1 button, its going to add a lot of camera bump. If its just mounted on a hot shoe, as I see you doing it, your not going to want to be recording while checking things out. Touch screen monitors can have this same issue if you push too hard, but at least it gives you a chance. Quality of life will be better if you can afford a better monitor.
I'm guessing the Fotga C50 is going to be in that next video. That is the monitor has peaked my interest the most recently, but I'm going to wait for the next video.
One suggestion for your monitor review: 14" portable laptop screens are cheap, light weight, can be powered via USB-C, and can rigged to make a MASSIVE on camera monitor. If you're working off a tripod, you'll never go back.
