I somehow was under the impression that the phone they made was a commercial failure and the company that made the phone went out of business, then some AliExpress seller bought the remaining stock. (28:10) Yep, that seems to confirm to me that the company went out of business.
I love stock Android. Have loved it since my modded LG G2. I was running Cyanogenmod Android 5/6. People think the pixel is the most stock you can get, but there’s a more stock version than what they offer. I love the AOSP. The keyboard layout, the default apps, the ringtones, and just the feel of the UI without a lot of Googles bloat or spyware. Granted it is all still there with Google Services, but you can control all of the permissions. It’s just getting so hard to root a phone
Base android as an OS is great ui wise, under the hood though... I think it needs better memory management. It really gets bogged down with multitasking on low ram devices
19:03 who else spotted the 666 kb data usage? I don't think it would be easy to do on purpose due to the erratic nature of Android data usage. So I must conclude that it is a result of the universe smiling upon Smoorez and Ripley's magical adventures through space, time, and AliExpress. Ride on, space cowboy!
52:19 I think we have found an additional channel for this guy here. Imagine walking in on someone who is watching, and hearing multiple people, then it turns out that it’s this guy. He could do interviews with himself, and if he decides to switch scenes, he could do it randomly. Imagine the announcer interviewing a chipmunk, or the Indian support, helping a chipmunk. I would listen to him doing a video with singing, from his bathroom, like he is a guy showing how he is a rapper, but not only singing, but talking. He could also do interviews from his bathroom, maybe church, from his bathroom. Who knows, but most definitely, by far, let him loose to do anything that pops in his head. The only filler is his editing afterwards. If you walked in on someone thinking they were playing a game, watching someone playing a game, hearing someone having a interview from their bathroom, or anything like that. Then walking and seeing this guy just sitting there and not being in his bathroom.
About the confusing dongle, it seems like the "musical note" port is actually a combined INPUT, not an output. The "headphone" jack would talk with your phone to set the volume for mixing the sounds.
i though it was a way worse phone (like all the welcome bootlegs) but it had a decent display and some good performance, so for the price i would get it. the camera is good too btw and your impressions were so awesome i loved all of them. 7/10 this time!
if you need a MP3 player that's good, simple, straight forward and doesn't have any ads I would recommend AIMP3. I use it both on my PC and mobile phone and it plays literally any file format. I found one cheapo mp3 player that my uncle used on the early 2000s and all the songs were on some weird format that I literally never saw and I managed to actually hear them by using aimp3
Personally I prefer ArmAmp, it's ancient and still refers to OneDrive as SkyDrive but hey it works There is a "remove ads" button/iap but I've never seen a single ad ever, probably whatever it connects to is long gone Retro Music Player or foobar2000 are good options too
Totally true. i was expecting some bootleg type experience but this one is pretty damn unique for that price! Especially if its from 2018, still really good for a buck in 2023
That wacky remote thing reminded me of how I was using an Apple remote on my macbook with BoinxTV to set off effects covertly while recording. Thought it was a jank thing but nope, now it's a production technique apparently :P
The phone has sensors and a remote control for some interesting live streams. I can't wait to see what kind of chaos people will create with this gadget
@@zzoinks The accent is totally normal. At the same time, it is clearly different from the tone spoken in everyday conversation or even movie or drama. It sounds like a voice material of a game or anime.
That's because that voice clip is actually from a video game, it's a voice clip provided by Nakoruru's first voice actress Harumi Ikoma, this particular voice clip is from the SNK game Samurai Shodown II.
1:16:25 To address the zombie issue: zombies - in linux at least - are processes that have ended but the process that started them has not taken notice of that yet and collected their exit code. As long as that has not happened, the kernel will keep track of the processes return code and status using a 'mock process' just for that purpose - these are called zombies. Since there is a linux kernel way down in the Android system, i suspect that this is what you see there.
Fantastic video. Watched it over 2 sessions, but only because I started it in the early hours of the morning lol. I really enjoyed the Janky live stream. Lots of giggles but the cats trying to sleep on me were not too happy. Lol
Another fun video. I'm an American and it's one hour until the 4th, Independence Day. Some dingbat neighbors about five houses down are already setting off mortars. The neighborhood sounds like when CNN sends their least favorite journalist into a warzone. Anyways; I enjoyed this extra long (two and a half British invasions of Zanzibar) review as it was a great distraction. I have memories of UC browser. They're an old company. You could sideload and run Java apps and games on a PSP with an app called PSPKVM. I had the Java version of UC browser installed on my PSP back before cheapo smartphones were a thing. It was markedly more capable than the stock Netfront browser. That said, I liked Opera Mini better than either and that's what I used 99% of the time. Still, seeing that squirrel unlocked some memories. Also, JXD Android gaming tablet review when? :-D
No voice calls next year then. Optus will continue on for some time but 3G’a time is limited. Also a true “streamer” phone should be 5G but we are taking low cost here
That did actually cross my mind during the teardown. I went "this looks straight out of a Huawei". So it's definitely a possibility but I'm still unsure exactly what it is.
It is kind of wild how these super gimmicky weird phones exist, but making a small flagship with a headphone jack is too hard for the western smartphone industry.
19:45 You can just use ZArchiver to dumo the system files. Just have to go into system and copy-paste each folder onto an SD-Card or the internal storage, then copy it. To dig into its guts, the most important folders are framework, the app folders and the libraries. But you can copy most of them anyway. I think only a very few are actually protected by the Android system and cannot be copied, but those are useless anyway to a system dump. 29:49 Damn. It wants lossless audio.😂
I am really curious to know how you think a "5MP depth sensor" or even a "13MP depth sensor" actually works. Because there's no such thing, especially not in a $100 phone.
Why don't you use a video translator for all those Chinese letters you can't pronounce? Basically it looks at a word or phrase through your camera. It puts the translation over it. It's pretty neat, been around for years.
21:05 You knew the remote was dead at the beginning why weren't you charging it while you were waffling on for 20 minutes? Plus all the wrong info you've had to add text for. Great stuff.
11:04 I wish Samsung and other brands follow this instead of Apple being a trendsetter removed Micro SD card(I know this is not related to this video but still..) and headphones and also non removable battery maybe...
