This 1 SETTING is causing YOU TO DIE!  

Less lethal, but more common result of the setting being enabled is that it might cause you to break a freeze or miss cs when you stop moving because you'll auto attack a minion randomly, especially as a ranged champion

I remember years ago when I'm still new to the game that I disabled auto attack just so I can dance near enemies

One setting that you must learn how to use and not die is the walk-attack setting. If you're an adc, for example, and is chasing a low health rengar into a bush, you can walk-attack into the bush, instead of walking amd then attacking. If you, you'll auto him mid jump, if he jumps on you, instead of simply dying. This helps with irelia, leblanc, yasuo, jayce, and every target dash that comes from fog. Especially important for those "killing from fog" moments.

I have mine on mostly because of a small thing I learned. You will auto a wave from inside a bush if the enemy team sees you there. You wont if they dont see you. So if you are sitting in a bush with a wave near-by, if you auto, run.

This is entirely preference-based and depends on context. If you keep it on and are in a warded bush. Your character will attack anything red outside of the bush. Which lets you know it's warded without a scanner or red. If you have this setting off. You'll never know and be caught off guard when the enemies collapse on you from a blind angle. The attacking under turret can be countered by learned behavior to hit s or another command. You can't learn to autoattack from a bush when the enemy has vision to detect a stealth ward. So, I'll keep autoattack on and macro the other stuff, thanks.

as a ranged champion in the sidelane (i.e. support or top at the start of the game) you can scan bushes for wards without Oracle Lens, as if there's a minion in range and you are on vision then you will automatically attack enemy minions in range. As a melee champion, such as in every given example it was on a melee champion so apart from in the jungle you don't get remotely as much of an upside as a Thresh or Urgot or Zyra would get

Auto attack is a great thing to keep on. If you are in a bush with auto attack on, you will only auto minions/champs if the bush is warded. It helps easily know if theres vision, so you can play around it and cheese.

I have it on because it tells me if a bush is warded. I get that it can potentially mess up tower dives but I press S very often so it doesn’t bother me

The First two settings i changed immediately when i first started was going to unlocked camera because locked sucks ass (idk how people tolerate it, I didnt even have it on for 2 seconds). And turning auto attcks off because your character doing something automatically without prior imput also sucks ass and feels aweful to play. Auto attack should be toggleable off of a keybind, not an on or off setting.

I've known about this for 10 years and I've always kept it on because knowing a bush is warded by auto attacking has saved me countless times.

Having aa on as support helps tell if there is vision in a bush

I press a and left click if I'm specifically wanting my champ to attack what is in way of destination. If you want the champ to go where you click strictly without auto attack then just right click bruh..

also a way to know if there is a ward in the bush, so it's not the "worse setting" that allows u to check if someone warded : if they did, you will auto attack on range, meaning they can see you, valuable information

While I do play with auto attack off, it does have a benefit: ranged champions can reveal which brush are warded, because you'll only auto attack if the enemy team has vision of you, so if you're hiding in a bush and start randomly autoing the nearest target when something enters your range, you know it's warded.

If u have it turned on and Ur standing in a bush and minions Pass by u will start attacking the minions automaticly if the bush is warded by the eneny so it is great for botlane traps

I love this setting, I think Riot changed it, this setting behave odd sometimes

But if youre under turret you should be more prepared for you combo regardless

Ive mastered to stop command with S key, I have autoattacks on because you will start autoattacking anything in range if the enemy has the brush warded, it will not autoattack by itself if they dont have vision on you. Very useful as an adc to spot out warded lane brushes.

I actually still use this setting, and I've learned to use it to my advantage quite often. And, since I've been playing for about 12-13 years, I've gotten extremely on-point with using S at any point I need to. It's one of my most useful keys to press, and I prefer using it to stop over just "walking to where I want to". I click further, and then press S exactly where I want to stand. Only time it screws me is if I get rooted under a turret by an ability I didn't see coming (ie. Zyra over a wall or something), which is very rare. And your champ automatically attacks minions if you're in a bush, and they have vision of you, which is useful in cases where the minions are already fighting each other, and not gonna go for you, but you aren't sure if the bush is warded. (Tho some champs, like Kha'Zix, don't need this, as he has his Passive to check that, and same with Pyke and his grey health) Tho I do, no matter what, turn it off when playing Kalista. I don't play her often, whatsoever. But if I do get her on ARAM, or wanna try some bs on Arena, I turn that shit off. Kalista with auto attack feels AWFUL. With most champs, the worst that can happen is throwing an auto attack. With Kalista, it's throwing an auto attack and moving when you didn't intend to, which has gotten me killed before by accident.

You can tell if a bush is warded if you have auto attack on and stand in a bush. If you are on vision you will auto attack while inside the bush on the nearest enemy (usually a minion in bot or top lane) If you are not in vision you will not auto attack anything. This works best with range champs since the minions or enemies wont get close enough to have this interaction occur on melee ones.

But it’s also useful for checking vision. When I used to play support, if you’re ranged and hiding in brush and minion wave is near, if you attack, the enemy has vision on you, this scenario seems more common than the tower diving issue though I have encountered that exact thing OP mentions

I keep it on because it easily tells me if I’m warded in a bush as a ranged champ, for if there is an enemy nearby, I’ll automatically auto them if it’s warded I think, it might have been changed or I’m remembering something else that causes me to do that

Also in Arena if you charge Warm Up Routine and a plant is near you it'll make you target the plant instead.

As tank engage support I want this setting on as I’m usually the first on five anyway. also if you don’t have it in your auto pathing gets messed up during chases. some settings are bad to have on but as always it depends. none of those clips change either with AA off, it’s just clearly a bad dive so it’s a fundamental issue more than setting imo

i have it off. but having it on does have one advantage- if you are in a brush hiding and your character automatically attacks enemy minion or champion it means they have vision in that brush

Actually you can avoid these situations. But having AA on it's very good to spot a warded area.

I had that too but turned it off myself before that video cause I went through the settings for another reason and saw that setting.

Yes I have it enabled since 12 years now, and I will not deactivated it. I had a few moments where this gave me the kill. And esecially in the jungle, it is really annoying without it. I am used to have it on, and the small moments where it is a disadventage aren't big enough to make it worth it. I tried. I think it is because I come from Warcraft 3 where AA is ALWAYS on. So you can say I am used to it for even longer than League is old.

i turned that setting off within my first month of playing, and now i have a separate keybind for "move+attack" which takes the place of auto attack, granted i am a mid/jungle main and not an ADC

Even as an adc, I keep auto attack turned off. It's too easy to screw your freeze as well as taking tower aggro as shown here

If you don't understand why auto attacking there was bad its because wave was tanking turret and him attacking nautilus while cc aggro tower which got him to die for it from naut ignite.

you're wrong about mikyx. what happened to him is that you cannot s key to cancel auto attack orders while rooted

Exception, if you use wukong and slam the H key you will still auto like your clone would.

Its probably the first setting I ever changed in the game there is no reason whatsoever to have it on. Crazy enough my brother unironically plays with it on and technically hes a better player then me.

If you have this enabled in top lane you’ll 100% auto-lose the lane. You can’t mess up the wave there.

Youd just lose too much damage in fights or whenever if you had to click attack in every trade. Worth dying once to it in 50 games for getting turret aggro
