@@davidc.9933 we have heated tanks. The unit we purchased was off the lot and did not come with underbelly insulation but that is certainly an option, or can be DIY'd later. Some think having it is worth it and some don't. Also, it's not sealed.
Bought my first one in 18'. A 28' front bedroom. Great trailer. Decided we needed more cargo capacity and then bought a 28' front bathroom. Had an offer to sell it and we did. Didn't loose any money on them as prices have gone up a fair bit. Last December we bought a leftover 2020 36' fifth wheel. Should have done that from the get-go. Lots of space for us, the toys and the dogs. Love the trailer. Make sure you find a good dealer with a good rep. They are not all equal, you will travel to get one.
Awesome video my friends! ATC makes some great trailers with crazy payload capacities. I'm not a big fan of the battery location. I feel they could have placed it in its own area an not in the passthrough storage.
I have a 2021 2917 ATC Game Changer Pro with every available option and it’s the best damn toy hauler there is! Period! If you can get one, get on the waiting list ASAP it’s worth it. Nothing even comes close to these bad boys!!!
I really enjoy the reviews for toy haulers Andre. Would love to see you guys do more of these. Maybe even a weekend trip where you test some toys out and see the toy hauler in action. Keep up the good work.
ATC shows what is possible when functionality and durability is a priority over luxury and appearance. Unfortunately the market seems to value how the cabinets look over whether they stay attached to the walls.
Judging by its weight and that it’s a bumper pull it looks like a 2500 or 3500 would have no problem. Maybe with a Jeep in it tho a dually would be better. But at that point just by a fifth wheel toy hauler.
@@gill998 I live in Texas. Pulling that ridiculous bumper pull behind a single rear wheel across the plains with a 20-25 mph cross wind would be a wild ride.
Nice video.. I was going to get a toy hauler, BUT , the cost of the hauler, the cost of the PROPER truck to pull it, the fuel you'll use to tow it, then a generator!! I just get a hotel rooms and save myself a ton of money!!!
I did the math on this too…I’ve been looking at ATC for awhile. Bottom line, as you mentioned including the truck to pull the trailer, the breakeven point between a motel and this setup is about 800 nights in a hotel. Not including truck and trailer maintenance. ATC makes a great rig though, my wife does not like it because it feels like you are sleeping in the garage.
Can't not stop from commenting more . It does not leak , sounds like a salesman , I promise that if the roof seals are ignored for a couple years it's going to leak like every other RV !
Have a 2016 28FB. We have really enjoyed this trailer. We pull it with a 3/4 ton. No sway with and without a wdh. Have andersen wdh. Will use it crossing SD, WY and other areas when winds are high. If we ever upgrade it will be ATC or something very similar. Only issues have been typical 3rd party rv appliances that all trailers have.
What was the craziest feature you've ever seen, then? The bedroom window shade that doesn't cover the window? Or the complete lack of floor insulation?
I own the original Livin Lite Axxess 26 footer almost 10 years now, it has been a good trailer. I've pulled with half-ton 3/4 ton and 1 ton, I strongly recommend the 3/4 ton or better
The high shower is nice by why they didn't bring the shower head and fiberglass up another 8 inches is odd. That would have been a nice touch...but who takes showers anyway. 😁
Weight distribution and anti-sway are 100% required with this trailer. I regularly pull a properly equipped 16k conventional tow tilt bed with my F350 long distances with no concerns. In fact, it tows easier than my 8k camper with my Expedition.
@@markburnett8699 Agreed. I’m using a EAZ Lift hitch for weight distribution and sway, only complaint is that the don’t make a 3” model for the alumiduty receivers.
A one ton dually is absolutely fine . The dual wheels really makes it an easy pull. I wouldn’t want to tow it with that 3/4 ton very far, that’s a lot of trailer and getting the tongue weight correct with your toys may not always be easy or doable.way better off with a a dually .
I have a Jay Feather hybrid, The flexibility is great but have been looking at small toy haulers ever since I thought about how much fun a golf cart would be at the campgrounds or even just the neighborhood. Gonna have to talk my wife into the idea.
get a good sway hitch and its fine. my 32 foot hitch pull was all over the place even going slow. put a sway hitch and it doesnt move. doesnt go into other lanes even cruising 70 down the interstate passing 18 wheelers
I want to have a truck again and I want a camper so bad, hopefully in the next year or so! These videos are making me so excited, thanks for the awesome walkthrough, love to see more like this!
If you're wanting a Camper absolutely go with a Duelly to haul it around 😉 If you're looking at Camp Trailers a lot of them out there can be towed with Single rear wheels 👍
A great looking camper for someone with deep pockets. However, it appears the old adage of "you get what you pay for" still applies. Nice job of showing the features of the trailer.
This really will be carefree for decades. The aluminum cabinets are excellent, if you like the look. I do. Like Andre says put your toy inside and go! We travel with a Pioneer 1000 once in a while and something like this would be nice. Even when you don’t have anything in there it will be nice to have all of that room! I have a nice bed for when I snore too much and Momma kicks me out!! Hahaha. I agree with Andre to a point. I would never even consider a gas motor for this trailer. They don’t tow worth crap! They have a bit more power than some of the 1/2 tons, but not enough to warrant more weight. There’s no turbo so the torque band starts way too high and it is not near enough when the going reaches the maximum of the trucks. Diesel would be the only consideration by myself for towing a travel trailer, especially when they get to 8.5 ft wide! It’s got so much frontage that adds to the workload sometimes more than weight! We live in very windy country here in Alberta and it makes my F150 Hybrid work pretty hard going into a 50+ mph wind (until I can safely pull over and park the u it until the wind dies down). The w1 Hybrid does have diesel like torque up to 570lb ft! It’s just nothing like how the diesels produce torque now. 900 + lb ft of torque is nothing to sneeze at and no gas motor out there can compare. Been towing for a few decades now so I like to think I know what is safe. The new trucks are amazingly capable if not a butt too over rated in the 1/2 ton class. All a sad competition for our dollars!!
Here’s a question 🙋♂️. How does the generator get its ventilation? The Onan pulls air from the bottom but it looks like there are no vent holes for it. Aside from being garbage generators(ask me how I know), the Onan is very finicky about temperature.
Hey just wanted to say I love all the stuff you guys put out. I don't watch any tv. It's all yotube for me and your reviews and Ike gauntlet videos have sold me on two trucks in three years. Don't start travel trailer reviews!!! I'll have to upgrade 👍👍
At the 12:00 mark, you're showing the camera system, but just below that camera connection did I see the "Patio Room" that ATC offers for ramp-gate trailers?
@@jamescalvert240 You are looking at anywhere from 800lbs to 1980lbs of tongue weight from that trailer depending how it is loaded up. So yeah id be leaning towards a dually as well since most SRW trucks hitch might not be able to handle that weight. If you are gonna drop $85k on a TH like this then im sure you could afford the appropriate truck as well. Hell my '12 350 srw would be at its limit with this trailer as the hitch is only rated to 1500lbs with a wdh setup.
@@bpaul1201awesome My 2020 Duramax CC LB 4x4 is rated at 1800 tongue and 18.5k trailer and it handled about 14k like it was nothing. It depends on what truck people have and how often they plan to tow. A dually rides to rough for me and I have a somewhat small toyhauler and equipment trailers for work are easily covered with the capability it has. I used to tow my toy hauler (8500 lbs loaded actual weight, but 21' long and 11.5' tall) with my 79 C20 with a well built gas engine, air bags, upgraded 4 wheel disc brakes, etc. Trucks have really improved over the years, even over the last 10 years.
All aluminum is definitely worth the price of entry, but it must be built right. I own an EBY stock trailer, because they are much stronger than the competition. Early competitors experienced frame failures that were resolved with proper gusset and other design changes. That said, I would be interested in seeing a factory tour showing the fabrication of the frame and gussets of the trailer prior to mounting the body.
Toy haulers as travel trailers are very dangerous if not loaded properly. The majority of what you are loading is going to be behind the axles which will subtract tongue weight. I've seen numerous travel trailer toy haulers wildly out off control going down the road because of weight distribution
My 2020 duramax CC LB z71 is rated at 18.5k trailer and 1800 tongue, and something like 2800+ on pin weight. It is very stable and rides great. I have only hauled up to about 14k in a trailer. Older trucks have less capacity, even the 2019 duramax.
My 2020 2500hd duramax would be more than enough. It is rated for an 18.5k trailer and 1800 tongue weight. It pulled 14k like it wasn't there. Of course the 2020 has higher ratings than previous years and it has a 10 speed trans. I would imagine the 2500 duramax trucks from the teens should be ok on rating, but maybe close. A dually is a safe bet, but I have a friend that towed up to 18k with a 2500 dodge cummins and he said stability was fine. He also had a dually cummins, but has switched to an F450 for his living quarters horse trailer that is 40' and 30k pounds. For me, a dually wasn't an option due to the ride and my toy hauler is only a 21' but at 8500 loaded and work trailers aren't more than 14k. It depends on how often people tow and what their needs are.
@@CGT80 the payload and towing capacity maybe there but 14k on a flatbed trailer tows way different than 14k in an enclosed trailer. 35ft long and a full profile unit is a HUGE sail behind the tow vehicle.
@@runningscout14 Yes, my 21' 11.5' tall toy hauler (8500 lbs) was quite noticeable behind my old truck. Even in wind, it wasn't noticeable behind my new truck. A friend used to tow a 35' 5th wheel with his single tire truck, but it seems goose necks and 5th wheels don't effect the tow vehicle as much......plus they are shorter when combined with the tow vehicle. My 21' ball to back is the same length as our 25' 5th wheel, which overlaps the truck by 4 or 5 feet. My truck also has sway control built into the steering system (top of the line duramax) which might be a great thing for such a long tag trailer. It would be interesting to hear from people who have towed the trailer in the video......dually is certainly the better bet.
Many trailers are missing the on an generator because there is a severe shortage of parts for them. A lot of manufacturers are sending units to dealers without the generators installed.
Nice walk through, thumbs up. Maybe its me today, but can you and your team check the image stabilization on your equipment? It is more wobbly and bouncy than usual.
Nice trailer but I'd prefer a fifth or GN setup. A 35 ft bumper pull that size with the weight of a jeep as a variable in the ass-end .... you'd better have the WD hitch dialed in for each trip and weight variation. Uffa.....
I think a 3/4 ton or 1 ton diesel truck would work well as a hybrid generator. You have a massive diesel generator in the front of the truck if you think about it...
You could pile 6 little kids on the happy jack bed the fold ups sleep 2 to 4 easy depending on size and lots of floor space so you could get 15 in there if smaller. Or watch the video and look at what is in there if you want adults only sleeping.
I am not sure you could run a WDH on this trailer without drilling holes. I know a lot of HD's are technically capable of taking this without a WDH but I would still want to run one.
@@juantomas3630 No problem I miss things always. Often surprised by people that do not know they can order a camper the way they want with the options they want. I guess if they have never bought a car or camper they may not get that.
Great video. Can that ramp support a Jeep? Does the trailer have hydraulic leveling jacks? Does it have a MORide suspension? With what tires is it equipped? Is it set up for rooftop solar? Etc.
ATC's website shows them testing the ramp with a forklift. Not sure on the MORide but it has Goodyear Endurance tires and can be equipped with up to 800watts of solar I believe. I'm looking at one of these.
Great video Andre/TFL. It’s best to haul that Toy Hauler (TH) with at least a 3/4 ton. I think Andre was being too soft when suggesting “kind of should be hauling with”. It’s imperative; HD trucks have a much stronger chassis and better braking and more to handle this trailer, with safety. I remember hauling my Jayco TH with a 1/2 ton with max. tow package and feeling the truck wobble at times and simply feeling under built for the task. When I switched over to a modern 3/4 ton, so much more capable and stable; simply the right choice and getting the same fuel economy as my 1/2 ton when pulling. Also thanks to Big RV Big Truck for their videos on what size truck makes sense when hauling whatever. ATC as many have commented; superior build quality and thus a premium price. 👍🏼
It's actually quite Hilarious to read all the comments and hearing about 1/2 the people referring to this as a CAMPER 🤯😂🤣 A CAMPER is a self contained unit that slides into the bed of your truck. 🤭 And for that a 1ton DRW is your safest bet Always. 👍👌
Wives rarely approve of these austere spartan aluminum trailers. That is why so many of these toy haulers are gussied up with fancy millwork and plush furniture - to get their buy-in of the purchase.
Andre, why didn't you tell us the tank capacities? If it's not 4 season capable, clearly it lacks decent insulation. Plus, that aluminum gets real hot in direct sunlight. I didn't see a sway bar on the trailer hitch either. Wouldn't it be safer with a sway bar system since your rig is so heavy and can carry about 3 tons in the garage as well as a toy gas supply.
probably no WDH or sway bar setup since it is a new trailer and it isnt his. Most dealers dont want anything like that on demo units. Those are post sale items that are added in. It is empty so probably not much if any sway. They are delivered from the factory as well without a wdh or sway bar.
