A lot of top lists are like that. I can't tell you how many top 10s I've watched where the first game is number 1 because "It is the one that started it all"
Some of them aren’t ranked because of names too, like the rematered ports of the Kingdom Hearts games having “Final Mix” in them then didn’t account for the list, which imo should’ve taken into account the reviews from those.
mvc3 below streetfighter 4, arkham asylum being worse than fortnite, shenmue being on the list, dark souls 3 not breaking top 50. The ai making this list is tweaking.
Wait, is *that* why Hades is so disproportionately high compared to any other (non-Minecraft) indie game? Because its title is just the name of an actual Greek god so it would get detected as a match even if people were talking about God of War or Kingdom Hearts or something?
@@misirtere9836 its probably based on the scores given to each game and then listing it based on all the scores averaged or added together, Hades generally had insanely high reviews everywhere.
after calculating the results of every game ever given from the reviews the internet gave, this robot will soon have to face the ultimate foe the internet
Whenever Coney talks about his 10 years spent addicted to League of Legends I start getting war flashbacks to my 10 years spent addicted to Solo Q'ing DotA2
Your story about the guy at the party reminds me of a similar thing that happened on my 16th birthday party where i had hollow knight and one of the people i invited just started playing it and boasting about how good they were. When i told them to stop they actually threw a fit. Thats why i have never played hollow knight
Sims is totally part of the "larger cultultural conversation". Just not in gaming spheres. Everyone in and around my age demographic (in their 20s) knows what the sims is, and many many many still play it and follow whats going on with it. Especially casual gamers.
Anyone who questions City being better than Asylum should really play that game again. It was the perfect sequel. Direct improvement on existing features and adding of new ones as well. Excellent story that relates directly to the consequences of your actions in the first game. Immersive open world that always has something to do about a cornucopia of fun side quests. And of course, featuring Kevin Conroy as Batman. Rest in peace, Dark Knight 🦇
I literally just played Mario RPG at 30 a couple months ago. I kept hearing Fight Against Monsters on Nairo's stream and had always meant to play it. I was blown away by it's surprising depth and great sense of humor. I fell in love with the game as an adult. I didn't even know a remake was a rumor. It felt like I was being watched to just finish a game a couple of weeks before the remake was announced, and the Truman show scarred my at 10 I didn't need that feeling back. Also Link to the Past is a top 10 of all timer, top 50 if you are being reasonable and objective.
I should say though, at 4 mom brought Mario RPG home from the pawn shop and it was the first time I heard the word bootleg. She said the guy at the pawn shop called it the coolest Mario game. Walking diagonal felt like my controller was broken. The characters looked like the claymation Christmas shows. When I jumped on an enemy it opened a menu and I hated it. Mom didn't think it could be Mario as a fan of the first 3 games. She took it back and got Mario All-stars and that was so much better for me as a child platforming prodigy. But if I got it at 12 I would be overhyping Mario RPG to the moon like I do most Zelda games.
Happy that Mega Man 2 almost made it in the top 100. I was hoping Danganronpa would make it, not because I think its good but because it would be *so funny* to see it somehow top a classic game like Cuphead. Almost a political statement if the AI did that
I unironically think this might be as fair as we get regarding the top best games. Some people could say that a human could do better, but that person could be biased and may put games higher or lower based on personal preference, even if they claim to be neutral. I think an AI that legit just runs numbers and data is the most neutral and fair way we could get a top games list, though it would have to go through tons of optimization and tweaks and run more data and calculations.
At #95 Grim Fandango 10/10 game, you should play this on stream. it's available on switch even, this is a CLASSIC It's funny, it's wacky, it's a story about skeletons what more could you want
Ok Tetris being in second place is ridiculous and all but why on earth is THE ORIGINAL ARCADE RELEASE OF PONG in the top 150? I know it might be because you can't really "hate" pong, leading to it having a higher score, but it still baffles me that this type of game tops over 350 other games. A game with no technical flaws should not top games with maybe 1 or 2 flaws that have much higher strengths in my opinion.
If I had to guess Red Dead 2 is lower than Red Dead 1 bc it’s newer, if the list is just compiling “best games” lists then it probably has a steep bias towards older games. Red Dead 2 isn’t going to show up on a list from 2017. I’m honestly surprised BotW took the top spot since I was noticing less and less newer games as the list progressed.
