If I was anti-woke and I saw this show I would've immideately abbandoned my beliefs the instant my eyes laid upon it💀.

South Park could be homophobic, transphobic, racist, sexist and everything under the sun and it'd work because they're actually funny and execute their jokes well without random ass laugh tracks and stock sound affects lmao. I've seen a lot of conservative media, I think I once saw a comment comparing this to radio and tv shows from GTA. And that's pretty accurate, every bit of the show feels like a parody of conservative cartoons.

Having watched it, and having let it stew for a smidge, I feel like "that" pronoun joke might be accidentally deeper than it seems. Like, if the machine did say "thanks for using the preferred pronouns" or something, it would mean that the machine was listening to what Chaz says, but if the machine is illustrative of performative wokeness, it makes sense.

4:30 something ive noticed with conservative "comedy" is they really love doing rapid fire "jokes" with no space for thoughts. I think it's some subconscious acknowledgement that if they pause for even a second their audience might think about the "joke" abd realize it's not a joke at all.

LONG TANGENT-Y COMMENT INCOMING 😭 love how this show is such a clear parody of All in the Family-it even goes so far as to rip-off the house's design-yet they totally ignore what made All in the Family beloved and iconic. Even after tense exchanges, and quick (WELL WRITTEN) comedic jabs at the other person, EVERY character was challenged with the intention of reaching new, improved understandings for everyone rather than dog piling and making fun of groups simply because you’re uncomfortable. They even had a better response to the “new leftist generation is making everyone black for brownie points” topic when Mike, the resident "woke" meathead character, was confronted by his black friend Lionel about how he views him and other people of color as projects rather than individuals (a valid critique marginalized groups have of white liberalism and capitalism to this day) despite the fact that Mike in arrogance believed the person Lionel would be most uncomfortable with was Archie. Though shows like All in the Family, Good Times and others are far from perfect and dated in some ways, what this low-budget, spiteful, anti-woke conservative content consistently tries to do that the others don’t is dehumanize the individuals who make up the groups they criticize. They do this because fighting with an exaggerated version of who you assume is your worst enemy is much easier than facing the truth of one's own biases and realizing that those ideas could mean the difference between life and death for an individual who truly means you no harm.
