Picked one of these up today. They are pretty sweet. I was a little bummed to find out that the Airtags now have precise finding for people being followed (Stocked) by the Airtags. For theft purposes I put an Airtag in my car. I removed the speaker so if someone was to steal my car, they would not be able to find the Airtag as easily. It used to be that if the Airtag is following someone for a certain amount of time, it would show a notification on their Iphone saying an Airtag is following you. The only way to find the Airtag was to play the sound. Then once you found it, you could remove the battery and it no longer would be tracking you. This was ideal for an anti-theft device if you removed the speaker. I was easily able to do this and if you hid it well enough no one would be able to locate it in my car if they stole it. HOWEVER, NOW this all changed. Now Apple has the option for someone to locate an unwanted airtag's with the precise finding feature now. This means that if you have an Iphone 11 or newer, someone can pinpoint exactly where you hid your Airtag in the car without even playing the sound. No matter how good of a hiding spot you have someone can locate it and disable the Airtag. This is really unfortunate but I understand this was not the intended purpose for the Airtags. However, with these EUFY Tracker, you can remove the speaker and this does not have the precise finding feature like the Airtags. So if you remove the speaker and hide it well, no one will be able to locate the Tracker in a stolen item like a car or a bike.

@@aaronvincentpascual2037 you have to cut into it from behind, I used a small drill to get into the plastic and pealed it back slowly to get access to the speaker, it’s not the easiest but you can do it

I have eufy indoor and outdoor cameras that I love. I want to use one of these trackers for my car keys. Do I need to leave bluetooth on my phone "on" all the time to use this, or can I just turn bluetooth on whenever I need to find my keys? Also, is it best to set up the tracker in the eufy app first before discovering on the iphone in "find my"?

I also love eufy cameras. You can turn on/off bluetooth and your phone will reconnect to it when within range. FYI: I notice in newer iOS, Find My still works with AirTags even if bluetooth is turned off, but I haven't tested it on thrid party devices yet. I set mine up first in Find My.

Would be great if sound volumes were compared. The Tile is the loudest. The Airtag, if the device is hidden under stuff, you will hardly hear it

Thanks. I put sound levels in all my reviews so you can see the decible difference, but sound is also subjective and some sounds people will hear better than others.

Both phones had the same account login information (both origainl owner) and no notifcation/approval of another login was recieved.

If you’re talking about AirTags anti stalking feature, then it’s works the same as an AirTag. That goes for all “Find My” Bluetooth trackers.

You need to have it installed but not running in the background. Once you shut it down, it won't work for a little while, but it always has worked after a couple minutes.

If you're an iOS user, its a no brainer, get the eufy. If you use Android, you have to get Tile.

Any chance you know what causes the sound that plays at 3:09 in? We have several of these in our home and I can't figure out for the life of me what's causing them to randomly play that specific tone.

From my understanding, Airtags and other find my trackers will make that sound if the tracker is moved and the owner is not connnected to it. Its apart of Apple Anti-stalking feature. If you are near it and its still making sound, make sure you keep your bluetooth on and update your phone to the latest iOS.

@@TrackThisNThat no unfortunately it's not that sound. I'm familiar with that tone. I couldn't easily find an example of that tone in the video but it's definitely different melody/tone.

I don't understand why Apple's Find My doesn't have the reverse finding feature built in. I would think its a feature that most users would use.

It is a great feature to have. I know Apple has a bunch of other ways to ring your phone but they are not as conveniet as havng a bluetooth tracker. Eufy really thought outside the box here and they firgured out how to do it anyways.

Hi thanks for watching. This is Bluetooth Tracker, not a GPS tracker. It DOES NOT have real time tracking. When shared in Eufy app, you do not have the abilty to ring it (as I mentioned in the video) and it will show the last location it connected to an iphone (or other apple device) but understand it is not in real time and it has no other way to commuicate unless a phone is around. I hope that helps.

Can you add an NFC tag to the Smart Tracker and it will allow the level of precision like an Apple AirTag in finding your lost item?

Precision Finding does not use NFC (Near Field Communcition) so adding a NFC tag would not give you precision finding. If you meant UWB (Ultra Wide Band), that is a chip thats internal so you can't add it. Plus according to my sources Apple does not allow third-party devices to work with UWB, yet!

This is a Bluetooth tracker just like an AirTag and requires other iPhones to be around to get a GPS location and to report the location of that connection. THIS IS NOT A GPS TRACKER!

I would avoid it with android! The community finding (or whatever you want to call it) feature doesn't exist in the eufy app thus any other bluetooth tracker that has the smallest community is better. (FYI: Go for a Tile if you have android)

Bit late to the party but... It works like a cheap ebay Bluetooth keyfinder with android. If your phone can connect to it, the app knows where the tag is otherwise not so much...

They are no longer marketing this for andorid. (FYI: Android Find My has been announced and Google mention they are trying to work with Apple for the greater good and hinted that the "find mys" might work together but thats still a rumor. I hope they do.

I don't understand what your asking but if you asking if this can work without yours or someone else Apple device within bluetooth range. The answer is no. This does NOT have GPS or cellular so it has to been near someone apple device to update the location of the connection. Make sense?

An AirTag, even if the speaker is removed, could be easily located by thieves using a precision finder. I believe Apple should add an option so that once an AirTag is reported lost, any iPhones that the AirTag is not registered to would be incapable of locating it. This way, the unit would continue to signal its location to the rightful owner. However, a potential concern arises: what if criminals exploit the same option? It's not my responsibility to provide Apple with ideas to enhance the security of their products for the benefit of end-users. They have talented individuals with bright minds and recieves huge paycheck to address such challenges.

Because it's cheaply made and the button built in either keeps getting touched or is shorting out. Update the airtag via the app and then update the app itself and it enables a 'mute the button' switch. Seems to have solved my similar problem.

You don't buy these to ring your phone. You buy these mainly to find your misplace items. However, Its an addtinal feature that other Find My trackers don't have and makes it a better option for some. As not eveybody has an apple watch, or wears their apple watch 24/7.
