3:00 Atuvos weakness is the power off button; there is now way of knowing it's on or off away from phone. My kid turned it off and we could not find afterwards.
Thanks for sharing. It's interesting that some see it as a benefit and others see it as a weakness. Good thing there are other trackers to choose from.
I like that feature too but I want it to work with Apple Find My. This eufy tracker is the closest thing that works with Find My "and" the Eufy app so it gives you the reverse finding and all the other features of Find My. Check out the video on it - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-eHuchvxpxJk.html
No, updates happen even when not in lost more. Lost mode adds notifications when it gets an update. Plus it lets you add a message for people who find it.
When someone scans the tag (NFC), it will take them to a website with your contact info (If you put it in lost mode and enter your contact info) Separately, if the tag is off, and someone scans it, it will turn on the tracker. Make sense?
1. Bluetooth trackers are NOT for "stolen" devices! 2. Yes, if a theif has an iPhone, the Find My app will notify them a tracker is traveling with them the same way.
If I lose it and someone finds it and turns it off, would it not be possible to trace it in that case? If so I don't know how useful it is to have the power button
This tracker and many others have removal batteries so you can say the same for them. But remember, Bluetooth trackers are not designed for stolen items!
I'm having a hard time syncing my Atuvos tag to my iPhone, my phone states to "Pull Tab on AirTag and bring near iPhone" I don't see a tab anywhere. Can someone help me??
The tab they are talking about it is small plastic piece to keep the battery off during storage and shipping. Once a consumer gets the tag, they need to pull the plastic so the battery works. The tip of the plastic might have been pryed off but the inside part is still on the battery. You need to open up the tag and remove the plastic so the battery will work. It's hard to open but I show how in the video.
I haven't see one specfcially, but it has hole so there are plente of things like that this you can place around luggage handle. amzn.to/3QTzedo (affliate link)
I hide my air tags inside the luggage, in a hidden pocket if possible, so thieves won't be able to easily find it and destroy it. Don't place it on the outside!
Does this notify another iPhone user that this tag is following with them?? Like how airtag do when soemone put airtag on someone purse or car does this do the same way?? Thanks
Would it be possible to find something in your house (assuming you cannot hear the little sound) with the Atuvos tag? From my understanding it only gives you a marker on a map, no precision finding
@@TrackThisNThat do you know if it's a limitation of the tags themselves (by using Bluetooth and not UWB), or is Apple limiting this feature to their own devices somehow?
I'm not 100% sure, but I think it's an Apple limitation cause I have over 100 find my devices and none of them have UWB. But I haven't seen anything offical just rumors & hearsay.
The AirTag interferes with the passive unlocking and push button starting on some auto makes, including Lexus, Toyota, and some other makes. I experienced the severe interference on two different newer Lexus vehicles. I don’t know if the Atuvos tracker also has the severe interference problem. One advantage that the Atuvos has over the AirTag is the nearby proximity distance detection does not work, making it more difficult for the criminals to locate the tracker. The AirTag and Atuvos speakers can be removed to make it harder for the criminals to find. Does the Atuvos tracker require any actions by random people in the iPhone crowd to do anything to allow you to locate your stolen items?
@@TrackThisNThat Why can’t trackers be used to track criminals? There are cases where trackers have been used to successfully track criminals. Do you think that it’s unfair to track criminals, and throw them in jail, where they belong?
@@daveborchard2019 The chance of these trackers helping people find stolen items is highly unlikely and is a terrible rumor and sales tactic. Sure it can happen, but it's less than .01% and anyone saying or implying these will help in stolen items is unethical or more likely ignorant.
That’s a blanket statement that the trackers cannot work to track stolen property. The trackers can have the speakers removed. That makes the trackers harder for the criminals to find. The lack of the proximity location feature is a huge plus making it much more difficult to find. The trackers can be hidden many places on vehicles. The trackers sometimes don’t inform the criminals that they are being tracked for hours, or until they travel to their home location. It takes time for the criminals to find the trackers. If there’s multiple trackers hidden in multiple locations in the vehicle, that’s much more time required to locate each hidden tracker. The trackers are part of a redundant deterrence. The trackers are backup protection to the main GPS system. That’s backup to the alarm system, which draws attention to the vehicle by making siren noise inside and outside the vehicle. The noise inside the vehicle is extremely loud and makes it painful to physically be inside the vehicle for even seconds. The kill switch is preventing the vehicle from starting. The fake kill switch is a trap for the criminal, which activates a extremely loud siren inside and outside the vehicle. The vehicle can also have an IGLA PIN code system, requiring a combination of buttons to be pressed in the correct order on the steering wheel and other buttons, in order for the vehicle to start. The IGLA PIN code systems blocks the key fob programmers used by the criminals to steal vehicles. So, the trackers are part of many layers of protection. Each adding deterrence and each adding more time for the criminal to steal the vehicle. If enough barriers are created, it will be much easier, and less likely to be arrested by the police, or shot by the vehicle owner, when they are alerted to the vehicle theft in progress. The trackers contribute to a multi-layer of anti-theft protection. So, the statement that trackers aren’t useful to protect property from being stolen is simply wrong.
We can agree to disagree. I will never advertise or promote bluetooth trackers for stolen items! It's unethcial, without a very long and detailed disclaimer that nobody will read. I appricate your input and I understand what you are saying but at the end of the day, the odds are not even close to being on your side.
Design (color, shape, feel, weight, durability), battery (disposiable, rechargeable), if recharageable is it qi or some type of wire, battery life, nfc or a qr code to a business card service of some sort, and most of all Bluetooth/Find Distance (which I haven't tested), just to name a few that come to mind.
Does this product use the same technology as AirTags to track its location? AirTags update their location when an iPhone passes by. Does this product work in a similar way?
Thank you for the response. Yes, I'm aware that it works with Apple Find My. However, my question was different: Does this product use the same technology as AirTags to track its location? AirTags update their location when an iPhone passes by. Does this product work in a similar way?@@TrackThisNThat
One downside is that find my does not allow tracking of the Atuvos to be shared with others. I wanted to put these in the family cars so we can all see where any of them is parked. Nope. They are single appleID only and not shareable, seems that is an AirTag only software feature that Apple is holding back on the licensed products.
I'm confussed by what your saying, cause in the new iOS 17, you can share AirTags and other 3rd party Find My items, including Atuvos. Have you updated to iOS 17?
@@DougKremer I'm able to share my Atuvos, and Apple's own support page says "If you want to share an item that’s paired with an AirTag (or a third-party item that works with Find My), you can share it in Find My" so tell me more about issue and I'll try to help. I know some people get a not authorized user or something like that, so. you need to make sure the person youre sharing with also can track your location on and there is one or two other settings that you may have to update or make sure your entering the person correct info. settings, privacy, safety check, mangae sharing, informationa, location and check the phone number and email thats you've authorized.
The trouble is with all this smart tech , is its just another app you have to put on your phone .Pity one app does not do things like this as well as any camers you have
I know this will blow your mind, but that whole section of the video is talking about the Apple Find My app, not necessarily this specific tracker. I have hundreds of Apple Find My trackers all with the "left behind" feature and the 'left behind' feature has saved me a bunch of times. Stop looking for the negative in everything and life will be better for you. Have a great day!
