I have been using super glue and baking soda trick to make repairs to plastic items for a couple of years now and I LOVE it. I have repaired refrigerator drawers, the bowl to my expensive salad spinner, and lots more. I will try your uses! Thank you for sharing your tips!
I'm quite new to your channel but just the few things I've seen you do are SO impressive, amazing, beautiful, useful AND often quite co$t effective also! I was just telling my guy about how the baking soda/krazy glue is amazing and how amazing you are with the knowledge you share with us and I told him that whoever your hubby is (IF you have, IDK) but he won the wife lottery when he got you!! (PS: I hope you feel the same way about him too 😃)
I’ve been watching her for a long time now and she’s absolutely amazing you will love it here she’s so creative and so talented she makes some beautiful things and like you said she’s very “ cost effective “ in all that she does . I just love watching her she’s awesome !
Watch all her videos and you'll be astonished what she is able to do. It's just amazing. You'll not regret one single second of the time watching her videos.
@@hansdegroot8549 ThankU Hans, I WILL def be checking out more of her amazing/useful tips, as just the few I have seen now continually IMPRESS me, to say the least. Good Day to you & yours :)
@@Rita-yw2tn ThankU Rita, I'm prepping to sell house/downsize/move across country, BUT once I am settled, I AM going to be spending much time watching/learning and creating again as I SOOO miss my "craft time" it's EXCELLENT, INEXPENSIVE THERAPY for me and I AM suffering the effects of not being able to do the last while (too looong already! I need this situation DONE!)
@@tawandatracee8327 I hope your move goes smoothly so you can get some crafting therapy in as soon as possible sweetie ! I’m from Kentucky and I’ve got a few health issues so I’m limited as to what I actually want to do but I’m getting there slowly but surely and I’m like you crafting and listening to my music is my therapy and I’m looking so forward to getting back to it . Have a great evening sweetie hope to chat with you on here again soon . 💕😊💕
Another brilliant DIY hack. Thanks soo much. 👍👍👍 Just for the heads up for your Aussie viewers, in Australia we call bicarbonate of soda or bicarb soda, what you call baking soda in the US.
Holy cow, this really works! I just used it to fix a cracked plastic lid, and it's exactly as quick and easy as described - squirt in the super glue, sprinkle on the baking soda and it sets up like a rock. Thanks for the great video, Deidre.
Truly brilliant! I have to admit that I have seen this before, a friend of mine uses this to repair airplane propeller's, it is a very common practice in that field because of its durability, but I would have never thought it had so many other possibilities until I seen your video. For a quick example, with stripped or oversized screw holes in wood, we always put a sliver of wood in the hole, force the screw in, hoping it would stay where it belongs. (and always wishing you had three hands to hold everything together while working on it, especially with door hinges). This sounds so much easier and definitely a lot faster, I am definitely going to do this the next time. Thank You for another truly beautifully brilliant tutorial that is very easy to follow and understand. Amazing! J.R.
Now that is a trick I'm sure I will be using! I never would have thought! Like I said before, I never know what I'm gonna learn watching you! Thanks for sharing. I did the clay rounds with B&W pictures. I have no laser printer so I printed them out on rice paper & sprayed them wet with hair spray on both sides. Once they were dry I attached them to the clay with mod podge. Absolutely no smearing! I'm a happy camper. They turned out fantastic. Thanks again for sharing. See you next time. God bless you. 🥰
this is what i used to make a new zero fret nut for my guitar as a kid when a section broke clean off and left a string hanging. but i never applied it to other fixes; all the wasted years lol. thanks for the reminder
I'm am ao amazed at how much knowledge you have! Like, do you just decide to try stuff and it just happens to work?! 😆 either way, thanks for sharing you vast crafting knowledge with us!!
Wow! Fantastic hack, Deirdre!! I always learn so much from your videos! Do you have any suggestions for joining junked pieces of wood to make larger boards? I got a bunch of 1 x 4s for free & I want to make a larger surface. Just gluing the boards together & then nailing wood strips to the back seems to work-but is there a better, easier way?
I have a handheld misting fan and my kids dropped it (lol go figure) you have to pump it to prime it and now it won't prime because of the crack. I am going to have to try this hack 🤞🤞🤞
Helpful indeed. In addition to being super creative you're also the queen of pragmatism. I know you Americans can do everything with baking soda.😄When I was over there I bought a pack😄 It's not a common household thing in my country. Thousand times my apologies, Deirdre, you....Canadians.😁 I guess Canadians are as familiar with it as Americans. (So let's say North Americans).
Is it instantaneous, or would I have a few seconds to shape the mixture? For example, you used it to repair eyeglasses that I think would be difficult to sand. P.S. Forgot to thank you for sharing. This looks pretty useful. 😃
Could you try and replicate the ‘dirt-like’ dusts made by some of the craft paint companys that are used to ‘age’ an item? Rather than using wax? Thx!!
I've used this on my watering can(plastic) and today I'm contemplating my cracked phone screen. I dropped it and it cracked, so I'm thinking it will stop further cracking. I'll let you know.
I highly suggest you don't do this to your phone. You would indeed seal the cracks with the glue but you can not keep the glue from seeping down and gluing your screen to the phone. That will likely prevent your phone screen from working with touch and you'd likely not be able to have a new screen replacement done ever. The baking soda in this case would be another added insult.
TO LET YOU KNOW THAT THERE'S PHISING GOING ON ON YOUR REPLY TO MY COMMENT. IT HAPPEND TO ME ON AN OTHER SITE AND WHEN I QUESTIONED THAT VIDEO MAKER, HE SAID..DO NOT CLICK ON IT. IT SOMEONE PHISHING AND HE'S TRYING TO GET RID OF IT. CHECK YOUR SITE TOO. THEY PUT THESE NUMBERS IN A CIRCLE AND ACT LIKE IT'S YOU ASKING US TO CLICK ON IT AND THAT'S WHERE THE TROUBLE BEGINS.
Us honest DIYers can’t even enjoy a video without these idiots having to interfere with their evil BS. They don’t have a life so the prey on the innocent.
Thanks so much for letting me know yes I did notice that and I have reported it on every post that it happened to it’s very frustrating and time consuming
I think you may have a bot on your channel comments below a lot of scammers are doing this to channels so check it out I'm aware and probably some other people might be I don't know
