The video goes a bit crazy at 09:48 but, don’t worry, it’s just me waffling on! The good stuff is all fine…

I walk away with more from your video intros with you doing a quick explanation followed with your "signature" quick noodling of a scale or a shape while you explain what you're actually getting ready to cover in the video before you even get started and most of the time that more than I can expect to learn or walk away with from many other instructors making videos like this. You hold people's attention and that's the key. "pun intended".. Thank you for releasing all of the videos that you create because they're a wealth of good and practical information.

Awesome stuff as always, Dan! Thanks for doing what you do. Side note: it looks like the rendering failed at 9:48 in the video, so the outro was cut off a bit.

Mr. Hawkins first and foremost, I really appreciate you and the many videos you have shared. My problem is I am all over the place when it comes to practicing. I need structure. I need a practice map that will get me from point A to Z??? What does a daily practice consist of??? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! Thank you!!!

Hi Dan, thanks for the course example. I have a question. I thought the 7th chord was always the m7b5. In your Am chord progression, it had a Bm7b5 as the 2 chord. Im confused now. Can you clarify for me?
@OnlineBassCourses
@OnlineBassCourses 2 года назад
Hi Tony. Yes, the vii chord is m7b5. Can you tell me which bit of the video you’re talking about? Thanks.
@tonysimmons5729
@tonysimmons5729 2 года назад
@@OnlineBassCourses Thanks. About 6:40 into the video you utilize the relative minor key of Cmaj- Am. So the progression was Amin7 Bm7b5 Cmaj7 Dmin7 Emin7 Fmaj7 Gmaj7. The m7b5 is now the 2 chord in Am. Is that because you just shifted to showing the relative minor scale of Cmaj (Amin) while still playing in Cmaj?

@@tonysimmons5729 yes. The chords are all the same but shifted (which is really cool - you only need to learn one set of chords and just shift them for the relative minor!). I would say I’m in A Minor at that point (to reflect Am being the new ‘one’).

Maybe I should have purchased this one instead of the Complete Fingerstyle Bass Technique. I study better watching videos and there's a lot of videos with the Beginners to Bassist course.
@OnlineBassCourses
@OnlineBassCourses 2 года назад
One’s a dedicated bass technique book, one’s a general functional course. Very different. A bass technique course will come soon (ish…) so maybe wait for that one!
