This BIG FromSoftware Leak May Actually Be Real! | SPELLBOUND 

UPDATE: Spellbound has been debunked. This was an elaborate fake leak, but has been disproven by legitimate insiders.

I remember when everyone was saying Elden Ring was fake.

We'll know its fake if the map/ map rendition dosen't have a poison swamp

I dont even wanna see the map, the feeling of watching elden ring's map continously expand was insane, the less i know about the next game the better

Spell Bound being magic based combat sounds interesting and thanks for keeping us in the loop on anything Elden Ring or From Software.

The one central dungeon reminds me of castlevania, and we know that’s one of Fromsoft’s many inspirations, especially in DS1.

As someone who always uses a hybrid build, one magic and one physical. I'm extremely excited for this game.

From new offices need a plumber if this is true.

What I like about Fromsoft is they have the balls to try to make a new game idea and can still excel in making it i.e. Sekiro, Bloodborne, Elden Ring. They are not afraid to explore new designs and that gives me confidence in their future game could-be-title Spellbound.

I remember when elden ring came out I was thinking about the design decisions between the different fromsoft games and I came to the conclusion that the next idea I would love by them would be essentially sekiro but instead of focusing everything into 1 weapon you focus everything into the magic system. I would love if it was similar to LotF with the spells bound to different buttons but that also chain together so it feels similar to how melee combat works.

Hey Ziostorm, I’ve said this on another video. But in katakana, name “Kenwright” would be “Kenraito” but “Kenwraith” would be “Kenraitsu” or “Kenraisu.” Ke can be voiced as Ge but that would have a dakuten marker for voicing. For example, length would be transliterated as “rengusu” because the th sound should be su or tsu.

In terms of why they can’t show the map but can draw it - I’m assuming Fromsoft told them this. The sheer amount of patterns and repeat nature of leaks like this really, really make me think Fromsoft is behind them. It always seems to work very well to get their core fan base excited, I think it’s always a calculated and planned leak targeted as Fromsoft super fans like us.

As far as the refusal to share screenshots, optimistically, it could be because the specific screenshots would give them away to the company, if they were provided by an employee.

Bruuuh 😭 I’m actually starting to believe this now it just seems so realistic I just don’t wanna be overwhelmingly disappointed if it’s not true 💀

The reason they couldnt show the map might be because they saw it irl, and not online. Maybe they are closer to the source than we think, or even directly working on the game.

For over a decade fromsoft has given me awesome games, whatever they are making now, im looking forward to it

I've been hoping this leak is true since I first heard it. It makes so much sense. DS 2 took the "hard as hell" idea and built itself around it. Bloodborne took the parry and dodge mechanic and built the game around it. Sekiro took the poise-break mechanic and built the game around it. It makes perfect sense for Fromsoft to build a whole game around magic, as it fits perfectly with the trend of their IPs expanding upon and improving pre-existing game mechanics

By the sounds of the way the map is structured, it could be a mix of Bloodborne type city streets and architecture mixed hopefully with DS1 interconnected level design and castles. Which has me excited but as always we must temper expectations.

Great Video, We are at the dawn of the next great hollowing. Hopefully it wont be as maddening as the last one...

My hope is that spells will be modular in some capacity. Like imagine if you could have runes that change the spells primary and secondary effects. Like a mix between bloodgems from bloodborne and ashes of war. Some could just change the spell's stats while others will change their particle effects, elements or animations.

Spellbound sounds like a collaboration with Fromsoft and Brandon Sanderson

Out of the two, it would most likely be Kenwright. Kenwright would most likely be written as ケンライト (Kenraito) and ライト (raito) could easily be mistaken for how to spell "wraith" in katakana, but "wraith" is actually most commonly spelled as レイス (reisu) which wouldn't be easily mistaken for how to spell "wright"

I never put much faith in leaks until they become more detailed, but this one is becoming reminiscent of the early elden ring leaks so I hope this keeps developing

Surely I'm not the only one who gets some huge "I know a guy who knows a guy who's a leaker" vibe from all this? I love souls-likes and am excited for any new ones coming out, but this is just so obscure, with layers of maybe and what ifs. Even if any of this is real, it feels like this is so early on in development that nothing more than an idea with a bit of concept art is even ready and as real as that map might be it has as much chance of being completely changed as the leaks being true.

My greatest wish has been for them to make a game about one giant castle CV-style so if this is true I am hyped. Would love for the combat to be more than just rolling out of the way of stuff too, Sekiro was a great improvement and ER combat felt like a big step back in terms of dynamic interactivity with bosses.

Wait, the games city/dungeon is "2-3 times larger than elden rings dungeons combined" and "the open world is 2-3 times larger than elden rings open world", followed by "the game is slightly smaller than elden ring"...that dont math 🤔🤷‍♂️

I would love to see how they handle a proper necromancy setup. Or anything where the combat revolves around minions.

Concerning the city-name "Kenwraith" or "Kenwright": If the setting has a 18th-century European theme to it, than the city name may not be intended to be transliterated into English. French or Italian or German are also options.

So I know a thing or two about Japanese and the info they gave about the name of the city does make sense, in Katakana (which is the alphabet Japanese people use to write foreign words) the only difference between Ke(ケ) and Ge(ゲ）are the two dots you see above the character so if the map this leaker saw was low resolution, it would make sense that the name of the city was hard to make out.

Having gametested early alpha builds, a lot of material even features watermarks or slight variations which may get them caught. A mock-up makes sense

While I have no doubt whatever game From is making next will be amazing, As someone who predominately uses strength builds, i do have some complaints about a game based around spells...

Metal Wofl Chaos and Armoured Core 6 made me a fan of Fromsoft, I wasn't too big on Elding Ring last year but I'm gonna give it another shot soon. Im happy to see what they are cooking up next.

Considering the improvements they made to magic in Elden Ring and how fun magic builds turned out to be (at least compared to Dark Souls), it makes sense for them to go all in on magic with a new IP. I hope this turns out to be true. It could be interesting.

That open world structure seems like it would avoid a lackluster area like Mountaintops of the Giants happening, because it's a giant dungeon in one half of the game instead.

Very interested in this game so far. If this is a magic focused game it’ll be interesting to see how people react to it. I feel like most people in the souls community, particularly people who play PVP, hate on pure mage builds in previous titles.

TGA2023 is most likely slotted for Elder Ring DLC, which means we'll see the trailer for Spellbound (if it exists at all) at Summer Game fest 2024.

Probably because both are inside the development studio and don't want to get fired. NDAs are scary. They did just confirm each other to be part of the studio, though they may be on different teams, i.e. animation, lore, or maybe one of the graphic artists. Might still be a little early to have game testers working on bug reports

honestly this is one of the two fixes for magic casting and i will say arguably the cooler looking one which depending on what movesets each spell has and whether spells are equipped still in a spell slot or are there own full on weapon will determine a bit more about how interesting this will ACTUALLY be but im here for it no matter what as a spellcaster main who has always been sad at the lacking magic and old and FAR FAR FAR obselete magic casting system when there have been better systems around FOREVER namely being, keeping the unique thing to souls-borne games of needing a spell catalyst but than just let us equip each spell to a hotkey AND add a barswap option so we dont need to go from 1 to 0 but instead can get 5 spells per bar without the talisman and 6 per bar with it for the same total number of spells that would also be easily accessible still.

It truly sounds like something fromsoft would do and i want to belive it so badly but i just can't belive they devloped ER, AC6 and Spellbound in the SAME TIME and the fact that they're almost finished with it makes this whole situation sound fake to me.

Lol it looks like someone meshed up the Carian Knight set and Alberich’s set.

this game is so real - after armorcore 6 i can see fast pace mage battles where youre shooting projectiles and constantly having to dodge your enemies at the same time but it will be humams instead of robots - plus they have spells and aow from ER like carian swords for melee

So maybe they go full dungeon explorer theme this time. Siofra river/ Nokron stacked together with multiple level.

I cant wait to wait for their next project focusing only on incanation and then the next next with only bows, talking about recycling, they took the concept to the fullest 😁

I remember Miyazaki mentioning he was looking at games like Tarkov/Dark and Darker for inspiration as he likes the extraction pvp system. I wonder if we will see something in a similar vein added to this new game. I feel like it could spice the PvP up a little bit, since nowadays PvP is pretty stale and also quite annoying at times (annoying for both invader and invadee).

Here's hoping spells are still treated as key items and can't be dropped/duped, as easy as duping stuff made buildcrafting it honestly made twinking way too easy/accessible. I hope it's like bloodborne where if some super Chad low level invader/co op enthusiast enters your world you know they put in the work and earned it.

If Spellbound will have some awesome and creative mounted combat, consider me a customer! Maybe even a magical mount like a gryphin or a dragon! That'd be cool, and they could make flying something like in Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon if we're talking limits here!

What happened to all the quotes / early remarks / speculation about the sci-fi game From was working on. Was that Armored Core all along?

The game being centered around magic to me might make a lot more sense than it seems. All the previous soulsborne games and even elden ring have had magic in it, however it’s never truly fleshed out and was never really in depth. You had your FP bar, a catalyst, and spells and you cast away. The combat wasn’t very involved or deep. Another question I have is if this is going to have heavy multiplayer functions and features, in a recent interview with Miyazaki he said was inspired by games like Escape from Tarkov. It would be interesting to see more in depth multiplayer system as compared to just being summoned and or having a few factions and invasions.

After mastering Elden Ring and Armored Core 6 I'm not interested in buying any more of their games until they complete the two aforementioned. They are both full of huge gaping plot holes and both need story expansions that actually explain what happened in the base game to be considered complete.

Honestly it makes sense. Going more magic over melee switches it up. And then they have 2 souls like series to work with. The more dark souls inspired elden ring, and more bloodborne inspired spellbound.

Eternal Ring was a heavily magic based version of King’s Field so it’s definitely not out of their wheelhouse.

I always wonder- what’s in it for the leakers? Why do they do that? Why would someone working on the game tell someone so much info? Is the insider getting paid? Even then, what’s in it for the person posting these leaks if they mostly remain anonymous?

I think I know what the game and who the writer they have agreements with to create the world as both leaks and the writer have the same map design

The only thing that i'm 100 % sure is that in february/march 2025, we will have a brand new From Software game, in the usual dark fantasy vibe. That 2025 release date makes sense, because of the 3 years gap that existed before (2011 to 2014 between Dark Souls 1and 2) and in between, there will be the Elden Ring DLC.

As a mage main in any game, I am totally hyped for this game. I hope that this releases maybe in the next 2-3 years, until then I'll be playing the Elden Ring DLC which I hope would bring us even cooler spells (I still don't know if they can top Meteorite of Astel in the coolness factor).
