The good old DV6 ….hate those leak off pipes …I still take a step back and double check it’s a Pug, #2 is #3 but the same engine in a focus is 1-2-3-4 from the cam..
Worked on a lot of DV6's for a taxi firm that used to run a lot of Peugeots. My experience is that the later ones (2010 >) are a much better engine. They went back to 8V so the injectors no longer go through the cam cover, and so they have a proper clamp. Old style used tiny studs with allen key nuts that only torque to 7nm and always seem to work loose. Also the studs have an 'e' socket heads which always used to shear off if you ever needed to remove the cam cover. Those ones were much worse for chuffing. I never really understood why they went to all the effort to make a diesel have 16 valves. 16v engines prefer to rev high and diesels don't lol. 8v low down power suits diesels better anyway.
The DV6 is a good engine but sadly plagued with injectors, DMFs etc. Glad of my DW10 when I had it, seeing and half dealing with the trouble of my parents' 1.6
