This is a great overall INT build, esp. with the ashes of war. Here are some tips I found running a similar build: I found that a Misericorde paired with Carian Grandeur and buffs+talismans with +10 CRS staff can deal over 5200 damage per hit while also having the highest crit of any dagger in the game. Some spells you may be missing that are among the best in the whole game are Night Comet (paired with staff of loss in offhand for +30% damage) and the Stonedigger sorceries Rock Blaster and Shatter Earth paired with a Stonedigger staff in offhand for +20% damage. The Night Comet when paired with Staff of Loss is the highest damage to FP ratio spell and can’t be dodged by PvE enemies. You can also dual wield them in NG+ for 60% damage boost, so I have a one of the staffs at +25 for that. Rock Blaster (and its sister spell) are basically a melee version of Comet Azur that melts enemies like butter. It’s an industrial laser drill for mining, so it mows through shields and armor like nothing and can one-shot many enemies when used correctly paired with buffs and talismans.
this build will have a hard time dealing with Malenia, that is my litmus test. As a mage I use Ancient Death Rancor, Inescapable Frenzy ( with black dumpling headgear), Golden Vow with Black knight Tiche summon. I either use Glintstone shard and moon greatswrod for common mobs, and sometimes Carian GS for undead.
Well, Melania is a skill test more than a build test. If you want to see how I killed her with this build than go watch the third part of my Building a strong mage livestream. I struggled with her not because of the build but because I never really learned her. If you can fight Melania with a normal build you won't have more problems with this build.
I think 80 int is a bit of a waste if you don't go for the moon sorceries. You can put those 15-20 on vigor to have more HP and some defense, since the cap is 60, you don't get a massive return from those staffs. Also, i think the Carian Grandeur of the Carian knight SS is more powerful than the Ash of war. But great build overall. I was running something like this on my first gamethrough. Even without the talismans, i was dishing 1k damage.
I also am a sorcery build, but i am only 137 for coop purposes, ang i have 0 upgrade on my endurance lol, but my talismans include erdree favor and the stamina talisman +2. Ihave 50 vigor and 40mind. I dont use weapon like 0. Lol
Well it took me a long time to come up with the build like you see it in the Video. But my mage builds started pretty similar till I understood the Ash of War system to its fullest.
There are many ways to make the game easy, though. Magic, if done bad, makes the game harder like every bad build. So it's actually not like, Magic = Easy, it's more like, Good Build = Easy.
