for the chat in the beginning: Dark: T-T Byun: Don't live like that Byun: hmm.. Dark: Looks like ur in bad condition today Byun: ur probably smiling Byun: I am a apple(????) Dark: No forward barrack ---- Byun: Don't live like that Dark: lol 22:09 Byun: Just leave... Dark: zz (lol) 29:13 Dark: I'm so sad don't wanna play lol Byun: lol No clue what this means without context XD
@@LeOssiTrollterrible at this level of play, these two guys 100% know each other, and this is some level of banter. Maybe a little bm too, but definitely banter.
That ending was the most quintessential ZvT you could possibly ask for. I felt bad for Dark playing out of his mind with that ling bane everywhere on the map, and running out of minerals just before he could break Maru. But it lead to the most nail-biter finish of pure efficiency on both sides you love to see it. I was so scared the ghosts were just too damn good until that final chain fungal with Dark beautifully sending in 1 infestor at a time. The medivacs actually out of energy too, so insane. **chefs kiss**
Dark overkilling bunkers with biles but byun manually exiting with the units so they stand next to the bunker instead of on top of the biles is why watching this matchup is a treat
I feel like if "Micro Jackson" ever wears thin, "The Reaper Man" is a totally worthwhile consideration for a nickname for Byun. After all, Reapers are the units most famously associated with Byun. Plus it alludes to his many high-profile victories over his long career, as well as his dedication and diligence as a professional, playing in as many tournaments as he can get his hands on, "reaping in" as many wins, and as many winnings, as he can.
You can say whatever you want about the players who mechanically execute the meta builds better than others, but Dark is a whole another league winning games with creativity, risk taking, and diamond leagure supply blocks.
@@shivamagarwal348 Dark more than any other Zerg really embodies the “swarm” identity of the race. I love how he plays, easily my favorite Zerg player lol
21:00 I have 2 boxes of SC2. Wings of Liberty and HoTS. Really cool boxes with some interesting stuff inside. They also came with a card that had the product key on it.
He survived long enough to call in what horrors he saw before suffering an even more painful death than that of his brothers, torn apart by a Zergling while the acid of the Baneling was burning him alive.
50:57 - "ryhmes with ...barines. (oh my fg..)" now that's what makes people hit the👍button of course, routinely asking is also an option but.. 😶 also first liberator parasite i've seen. a real intuitive zerg.
Winter was right though, he really did some major emotional damage there; Byun was clearly hesitant to push forward without reliable detection, and it almost bough Dark a ticket back into the game. Honestly, Dark's biggest miss there was waiting too long to research Baneling speed.
I don't believe a Terran player can see this game and say Terran's turtling power isn't ridiculous. Zerg needs to outfarm Terran 2 to 1 on Gresvan to have a chance.
“Don’t try this build at home” 9:08 As a plat player, I was learning a 3-1-1 timing attack with stim/shields and 2 medivacs I found the “threeaper” build was very successful, but of course there is great risk; your micro has to be at par or better than your opponent which can make things difficult for the faint of heart
D - ㅠㅠ B - Don't live like that - hmm.. D - You don't look very good5 - Condition today B - The corners of the mouth turned up - haha - I apologize D - No distribution allowed at least, thats what google got out of it
48:50 im pretty sure byun had accidentally killed a couple of his own reapers with the grenades.. because the losses chart immediately afterwards makes NO sense.... theres 7 or 8 reapers there and the losses at the end only showed 5.
I'd love for banshees to become a more general unit, instead of just 1-2 at the start of the game. It looks like invisibility on an air unit costs to much power budget, so it might be better to exchange it for something else. And as an added bonus, low skill players have to deal with one less unit having invisibility.
Winters settings are perfection. Ill be watching GSL and Winter side by side and the color is absolutely fantastic on Winters, it looks super gray and washed out on GSL.
you sir made me go buy those hot pockets.... made me... maybe reminded me of such goodness, lol TMFI - below. Does anyone else stick their tongue in that hot pocket hole and lick around and then finish off the empty dough carcass?
Imagine in a game where the map is literally divided in half, and you play the faction that gets to get 2/3's the amount of income as your opponent while doing 1.5 times the amount of damage and you still lose. This game is just so unbelievable broken and this match proved it. I hate that this is what it takes for Dark to win because he is an absolutely great player but he wasn't the better player this finals. Maybe give zerg players only 2/3's the amount of economy on their side of the map and see if they can win so it can actually be fair. Byun has to be sick to his stomach losing this.
Wait how is that your take away from this game? Dark had to have insane map control, to not just deny Byun basically 3 entire bases but take them from him, mining nearly 40k more minerals than Byun, and the game still came down to the wire. At one point Dark was attacking Byun from like 5 different spots, because in a straight up fight, even with a 40-50 supply lead, Byun's army just dumpstered the Zerg. If a terran was doing what Dark did to Byun, to a zerg, then the match would be over so insanely quick that it's not even worth talking about.
i know you probably wont read this because you spend most of day in sc2 lobby but i'd appreciate if there were some variety on your yt channel. I understand these times might be good for esport sc2 and there are a lot of tournaments playing, but id like to see on this channels your gameplay, maybe a tutorial every now and then. PS: i loved the sc brood war episode so much fun
You can watch his streams or the vods of them. Uploading his gameplay isn't good for the yt algo and a lot of his viewers don't play sc2, so tutorials will perform poor as well.
call me crazy here maybe a more experienced terran player can explain this to me, why do terran players facing mutalisks never get any vikings at all? I feel like Vikings would be a fine investment just to stave off the muta swarms and be able to help spot/chase them, as well as picking off overlords scouting for drops. and grounded vikings are pretty bad but they don't get oneshot by banelings...
Vikings are already quite good against zerg, so the only reason to not build a few is the player not liking them for any reason. However vikings are not good against mutas and especially not against lots of mutas. Their dps is quite low, they deal no bonus damage and mutas are fast so the range advantage isn't as good. Currently the best counters in pro play are marines, mines & ghost. (Thors are not mobile enough, lack tankyness & cost to much supply for them to be useful - you can even see thors getting "one-shot" by the swarm of mutas in one of these games.)
@@ElysaraCh You can look up liquipedia net starcraft2 Viking_(Legacy_of_the_Void) to look at unit stats and get a better understanding of the game and better spot when pros make mistakes.
@@ElysaraCh In games probably through Masters, Vikings do well enough. Once you get to pro level the amount of attention needed to stay on top of Mutas with Vikings and not just completely lose them, vs building a few mines or use the Marines you already have 50 of, becomes hard to justify. Think of it as the risk vs reward thing but with attention span.
The real stress was that if he looked away from his army too long Dark would have won then and there. It says a lot about the scale of that attack where someone like Byun lost orbitals to lings during it. I bet if you watched Byun's screen during that it would have felt like the HotS cinematic lol
@@probablypragmatic6893 I understand if you look away and lose a building or two, but he lost a total of 4-5 orbitals at two different places, which was crucial at this stage...
Dark so overdid banelingmines in the 3rd game, like he still had them all over the approach when they should have been with his main army at that point. A strange missplay by dark if you ask me.
@@the42ndgecko21 Yeah possibly, there were other weird aspects, like how he hadn't creeped up his entire home base yet? Byun unloaded on the high ground outside of creep? Seems a strange oversight, but maybe the normal thing of cutting corners to stay in the game happened.
