Winter, it would be cool if you could flash units lost screen after a game for a few seconds. People who are interested (like me) can pause and have a look.

Game 2 is so brutal, I can hardly imagine any other zerg to endure like that.

Clem feels superhuman sometimes - watching him dismantle Serral feels like watching The Flash redirect a hurricane. But that's just it - Serral feels like a force of nature, and watching him dismantle Clem feels like watching a disaster documentary where you know everyone dies at the end.

Serral is the GOAT for a reason. He seems to react to things just a little bit faster than his opponents.

You can REALLY see the fungal nerf this series. So many marines picked up with 5 hp after a fungal...

I hate to say this but game 2 has to be GoTY. Has to be. Insane brawler style starcraft where either player can win at any point serral, the king on the ropes defending with everything he can against a terran who quite literally out played him in APM. You pulled up the APM viewer and Clem's AOM peaked at over 1000 actions per minute. Impeccable defense by serral and an absolute show of authority by Clem.

They are constantly getting better over time, and this is #1 vs #2, so I think you might not actually be clickbaiting on this one. GG

I kept watching Maru and it did feel like he was beginning to lose more and more matches. I though at first it would be Byun or Gumiho who will take the spot, but it's really surprising and not in a bad way that Clem pushed himself to the top. Well Deserved.

You know what's funny, whenever you look left and talk to JImmy I picture some guy in the bowels of the boilerroom of a late 1800's trans-atlantic steam engine powered vessel (like the dirty rundown boat in King Kong) trying to keep your stream and videos up and running

they skills of the players are topnotch. the way they control the units, shifting attention from base to army while producing new units and building new bases. that's multitasking at it's finest.

i used to find serralgames a little boring, cause he is just too damn good, but now im excited to see just where hes gonna have his infestors and how he uses them. Like during game one when he was going to attack the planetary Clem emps the two festors and mid fight serral reborrows them and backs them up to use them again later then withrdaws whats left of the army to another area with a burrowed festor right outside clems base just in case he wants to reengage while being chased like god damn hes just built different

I think Clem has earned a +1 defence upgrade to his Player Card, as he has showed a more mature and restrained playstyle lately.

Heres an idea, why do people not invest in neo steel armor (building armor +2 bunker count+2) then casually put 1-2 bunkers on your most dangerous bases. This allows you to obviously have a more in trenched position but, when you wanna move out simply evacuate the bunkers and move out, if you have lets say 2 bunkers at the 3rd and 2 bunkers at the 4th with 6-7 racks. assign 1 rack to each bunker. This way when you move out and restock your units they will auto fill the bunkers during the down time leaving your base a lot less vulnerable. as the most optimal time to be attacks is right when you left home, which you would be close enough to turn around. By the time you would make it across the map 2 marines are running to each bunker. and 2 more are about to be start running. ive done this in a lot of my games and its quite unbeatable once set up because its so hard to have a force strong enough to counter attack, get through all that. then be able to do it again at the 3rd or the natural. usually they lose so much on the first base trade they either have to give up and go home, or they WILL fail on the second base they try to trade.

I feel like we need to take a leaf out of boxings book and start the petition for minimum 9 rounds for big tournaments. First to 5 or a player just taps out wherever. Serral plays like Oleksander Usyk. He might give up a game or two here or there, but it feels the same as Usyk giving up a round; you just know he's going to win, either in accumulative load and fatiguing them with how incredibly actively he fights (translated here into the combination of macro/apm/awareness splitting (eg controlling 1, 2, 3, 4 armies + mining and macroing, etc). Winter the call of 'Serral feels inevitable' - this is where it makes sense, if we just make it 9 rounds you can't help but think at the end Serral just rolls over everyone. Ahhhhh what a game!!!

I wonder why these pro terran players don't use at least 1 raven against Serral and Dark? Their macro game always has a hidden infestor.

Terran doesn’t deserve to win. Whenever they face any challenge, all they need is to wait for the opposition to get nerfed. Infestor, broodlord, disruptor, DT, even banelings are all nerfed through the last few years while the bio army is never touched. The EMP buff and then reversion of the buff was simply the “balance” council reminding Terrans that they have an OP unit which didn’t need any buffs in the first place. Mech is a smokescreen for Terran buffs. They keep messing with cyclones, pretending that Terran won’t go bio mine every game, but it’s simply to make bio openers harder to predict, forcing opponents to learn new early games that inevitable transition into bio mine. Supposedly “mech” units like widowmine, liberators and siege tanks are not specialized for mech builds at all. They come out with 90~100% effectiveness with no upgrades needed. Zerg and Protoss know that nobody has their back. Because Terran is on the center of SC2 posters and loading screens, because Terran is the default race, the squeaky wheel that gets the grease, Terran will never be disadvantaged. The other races remember that winning is about playing better, that’s why they have players with superior skill, nuanced strategies and tenacity like serral, hero, dark and solar, while Terran players regress into repeating build-order and spamming mines. Why try any harder when doing the same thing already gets you 40% of the tournament money?

Still waiting on those baneling nerfs, they arent supposed to work on armored stuff yet they wipe out everything regardless of tags...

I think Clem is good but when it comes to Terran, I am not seeing the caliber level play Maru puts on. Adding that game 2 was more impressive and Clem was much much better.

You know i hate watching sc2 lately cuz even the pros are so oblivious i have yet to see when someone loses 20 workers or 60 supply army and are under on mining even have a slight chance of comeback usually when that happens its just them struggling to try to win. case in point im about 1:15:00 ish i dont know exactly when i just know when serral bane busted his supply line i dont need to watch anymore its done

Day 3 of destroying balance whine. So more and more im being put off Winter videos due to the obvious bias and whine in the comments. We had the era of Terran whine and now is the era of Protoss whine. To make it worse most of the whining is done by people who don't play/understand the game themselves and try to form an opinion based on a small number of replays and winters own personal bias. (Also note the 'balance report' winter used in his patch review video uses extremely small sample size and the results are not representative) To that end I am going to make a post every single day on Winter videos to address some of the common complaints (focussing on PvT as that is where most contention is) Here are some facts : Over 50% of the GM playerbase is Protoss in every region. GM ladder games PvT win rates are - 54.14% EU, 56.40% KR, 53.26% NA. All in favour of Protoss. Going further to use Aligulac (which is the number 1 rating system and records all pro games, has also been referenced by winter himself for those not able to think for themselves and only want to follow what winter says) to only look at pro level games the win rates of matchups are as follows: September 2023 (2,965 games sample size) - TvZ 48.17% Zerg, PvZ 54.04% Protoss, PvT 50.04% Protoss. October 2023 (3,453 games sample size) - TvZ 51.55% Terran, PvZ 51.68% Protoss, PvT 49.38% Terran. As can be seen nearly all of them are very close to 50%. They fluctuate each month and the largest variation away from 50% in the last 6 months was in June 2023 where Protoss were beating Zergs in 54.51% of games. The largest variation this entire year was February 2023 where Protoss were beating Zergs in 58.15% of games. The largest variation of PvT specifically was August 2023 where Protoss was winning 51.37% of games. This highlights actually how close the games between PvT actually are when the largest variation by month the entire year is less than 1.4%.
