It wasn't until I was in my mid-60's I learned that my maternal grandmother had Scottish ancestry. My mother didn't know she had Scottish blood. She always told us we were part Irish from her father's side. Being Scottish explains my brother's hair color, skin tone, and facial features - they look far more like Scotsmen than Irishmen! Sorry, Grandpa, it looks like Grandmother's genes won out with your youngest daughter's sons!

My bloodline came from Scotland, we are part of the Holyday family known as the Holliday's. My family migrated to North America in 1630, my great, great, great, great grandfather was William Holliday and fought in the Revolutionary war against the British. My heart belongs to Scotland, I only listen to Celtic Music and have for over 25 years. When I hear the bagpipes my heart is filled with honor as I remember William Wallace and the sacrifice he made for the homeland, as well as my grandfather and the sacrifice he made for America. You are truly a Scottish gem with the voice of an angel.

My wife's family are Scottish/Irish. Unfortunately, her family was cursed by the Archbishop of Glasgow hundreds of years ago. But they still claim Scotland as part of their heritage. She and her sister have been to the lovely country. I however, never made it. Never will!!

My grandmother, long passed, would have loved this video. Born in Ayr and immigrated to the new world in 1896 at the age of 9. She raised me in California from my age of 4. Never a day went by without a comment on her love for Scotland and her disdain for the "Bloody English". She was a Wallace born in Ayr. RIP Marion Wallace.

My grand father was on a mieshen to recruit men for the Boer war an went as far as Mainjies Fley in the Cape were met a Yung girl of Scottish decent. He married her, he was only 14 and she 17 and she ollwais told her children never to forget that Thay were from Royal decent.
