I bought the lightspeed bundle because $20 for an R5 qui gon + an R5 pilot is more than enough value. In G12 mats alone and Signal Data it's more than $20 in value. "But it's not the same value as other lightspeed bundles" And? What does that have to do with getting 5 R5 characters for $20. They may not be the best, but DATACRONS matter now, so these characters could get a datacron coming up. There's a possibility for ROTE missions being updated with these characters. Who knows what CG is going to do, remember value is value. Get them 5 R5 characters for $20
Exactly! The raid was a bonus to me. I also didn't want to relic them instead of doing what helps my roster. Same for Ewoks (already got C3pio) and Nightsisters. Just waiting for Jawa and Revan ones. Then I can focus on the new stuff as CG implied and be asked to buy things like kyros.
@@Iron_Sheep EXACTLY!!! If someone made a new account, bought the hyperdrive bundle, bought that lightspeed bundle... They'd be able to unlock Yoda, take him to G12 and take on the raid. $70 and you are hitting the raid at square 1 with some basic speed and HP mods. A brand new account can participate in the raid with 450k points. Get 2 zetas and yoda to r5, and you now have a team hitting for max points... so 1 month in, and you are in the new raid...
I bought the LSB because i just came back to the game and found out what i missed. Dam i would love to get this GAS Bundle fpr 7 Star Negotiator alone, since i even haven't unlocked it yet. Yes the new bundle is worth considering what you said, but what i am more concerned of is that the difference between the value and the price will shrink more and more with each new bundle. To give my 5 cents to the video content: I mean i heard a lot of player say that they would never R5 anything else than Qui Gon and maybe Plo. So the question is what was first the hen or the egg, did CG know this and wanted to make us skip through this farm no one wants to do anyways or did they make those chars to be extra good in the raid, so those who bought it get their benefit and those who didn't now are considering buying seemingly "bad deals" more, conditioning us to buy whatever LSB comes up next.
When the Ewok LSB came out, I passed on it, and wish I had to improve my scores in Bike Raid. So, when the Jedi LSB showed up and I knew that was an important faction for the new raid, I did not pass on it and now I am glad I did not. I wish I had not passed on the NS LSB now.
Well the original LS bundles were so you wouldnt have the farm the old stuff, so you could catch up. But now CG uses these bundles so you need them to prepare for new stuff, which is counterproductive. It's a new way of making a quick buck instead of helping players (while of course generating money like no other pack ever)
I agree with your premise. I remember thinking when they first did the Raid bundle thinking it was smart of them to try and make money off of old characters, but then quickly forgot about it. I was tempted and probably would buy it if they bring in back in the next couple of months, but probably not if it’s later than that. I also agree with your idea on buying a LS bundle and waiting on it. I bought the Rey and Raddus bundles and ended up waiting while I finished of a GI (which I was close) but then did the Leia farm while I waited for my Raddus to start up for Rey. Waiting also allowed me to get Zori alongside my other Resistance. It also gave me time to see exactly what zetas I actually needed. Patience is a big virtue in this game.
Do they ever re-release the old bundles? Recently returned after a year.. should have bought the Ewoks… Huge value in Kyro and signal.. alone.. they did signal that luminara would be good… I bought it. Glad I did.

Since this is an EA company, additionally managing a mobile game, i won't give them the benefit of a doubt to be generous, at least not with a hook: What do i think is the strategy of CG with LSB in general? Since the LSB is a limited time offer and not permanent, they trigger our FOMO, the deals, especially in the Beginning were great. My guess is they are trying to break some f2p and low spending players to lower their barriers and make the first purchase so next time it won't be so hard to overcome the hurdle to pay again. If it would be a simple catch up mechanic, they would have them available all the time or make them come back frequently at least. What could we do as a community? Make videos exactly like this, being more critical, even if we consider new LSB as a good deal, remember CG is doing all the prices, just because the prices for accumulating the resources to achieve the LSB goal without getting it is exorbitant expensive, it doesn't automatically mean that it is a good deal. Now adding the new perspective that they also make those characters especially good in new content is more concerning. So everyone should rethink do we want to get this more and more pay 2 win, or at least the boarder between pay 2 play and f2p gets torn more apart? If this gets more and more unattractive for us as players we should show them with holding back our money, that is the only thing that hurts them. What could CG do? Give us some real and good catch up mechanics across the boards, for everyone, f2p, low spenders, high spenders: f2p: pick a GL and a ship and make the path towards farming it more easy, me for example, i am going for executor, its pretty nice but the damn one shard hard nodes with Xanadu Blood and IG-2000 ship are frustrating as hell. How long are those ships up, for more than 5 years? Make it at least 2 Shards. Don't hide a single character for each team behind a more difficult path to unlock. At least for one Fleet and one GL, that will motivate any account to go for that and since they are then invested in the game will more likely to stay there. low spender: Make LSB accessible more frequently, make more LSB that give a value and skip some parts of the earlygame, LSB for core teams like Assault Battle teams -Imperial Troopers Bounty Hunters or Phoenix with CRex.
That isn't a darker side it is a friendly handout😂. Its nice that they give us an affordable way to get these crappy characters that we need for 9 months and then they expire. It's like I paid 30$ to rent a raid team. I would contend that every Lightspeed bundle has been released with the intent to move players into the more Current content. Even the slkr, Rey and Starkiller bundles. The intent was to get those farms off the table so that new players were not spending two years collecting old characters and feeling no pressure to spend on chasing the meta.
Yup, CG is turning us all into baby whales. CG has beaten us over the heads with various bottlenecks over the years to the point where $20 to save time and gear is a great deal for us. However with all things in a business there is a dark side to it, where the best raid currency keeps shifting to new raids which require new characters and the time to farm these characters (for the start of the raid) is very small.
Wait... aside from LSB being a personal preference, your OK with paying for mid-level, mediocre characters that are really only useful in fortnightly/monthly raids as justification as "new content" ? I guess if you've got a hoard of toons at relic 7+ then sure.
For my level most LSBs are not going to impact my day to day operations (no change in GAC or TW teams). But this bundle saved me resources so I can spend them on Ahsoka toons rather than here. Sort of saw it as a Ahsoka bundle if you catch my drift
They did Rey and Kylo because no one likes those characters because the sequels are trash and that’s the only way they were going to be played. Very obvious.
