But part of why I liked them was that the lack of bias in the videos made them seem trustworthy. Now that's clearly out the window. I like being lied to even less than I like corporations lol

Yeah I think I have To agree. I admit, I simply thought that with them being made as a company "earlier" was simply something like the creators of "spill" did work there at first and started off the RU-vid channel as a passion project as they said. Only until recently they decided to make "spill" a company separate HOWEVER; I decided to check the comments and yeah...its fishy how they only have 1.9kcomments yet....only recent one is of yesterday and all are nice ones. Not even one similar of mine. That is giving me a sour taste sadly =/

Lamp Flower Ok so, I don’t care about drama, so I’m shouldn’t be talking. If you want to move in my comment that’s fine, or have a normal conversation, that’s fine too. (Please note I said a normal conversation, no drama please, at least not in this little chat that we have) I have been a fan of spill for a long time, and always liked their channel. I never cared if it was one person ir multiple people, I never really thought that it was relevant. What intrigued me the most was how well put the information was. I came for the video, sure, but really it was most for how everything was well put together, how calming it is, and how the titles aren’t crazy. They would never pick a side and stuff, and I enjoyed that. I LOVED that they always (correct me if I’m wrong) share the two sides of the story and how they share their insight. They don’t share this crazy opinion or are so painfully biased or something. I just liked how they try to help others open their mind so that way we could understand both (or more) side(s) if the story. Simple. I personally think that this is unnecessary but it probably is me being biased which is so hypocritical, I know. I would love for someone who is unbiased or agrees with his idea and explain why, because I’m the type of person that needs things explained throughly. I also noticed a comment saying how they were staying quiet and all. This is something that has a simple answer. Doing things like editing, getting everything down, making sure it makes sense and is well organized takes time, no matter who you are, and like I said I don’t know much about drama, but I think that there isn’t much drama recently, so those two reasons might explain why it takes time. I also want to say we can’t claim that something is true, no matter how much we think it is, who says it (unless there’s evidence and the source themselves says it, but not even then it should be trusted), or how much we think we know the person. I’m sorry but it’s true. His claims may or may not be true, but really where did he get his information? Spill’s claims may or may not be true, who knows? Not us, but them. Really that’s what I want people to keep in mind, and stay as open minded as possible. (Btw i copy and pasted this, I’m too lazy to write it again 😂)

Yep! I remember when this came out months ago. People were so pissed! Including myself. I stopped watching them because I want actual small RU-vid channels with regular people behind it to succeed before I want yet another large Corp to fly to the top because they have so much more money and resources, etc... Is much rather see someone sitting in their apartment recording on their phone and slowly upgrading things as they grow, investing in their channel and into themselves, and reaching goals. Being a Corp like Spill and Brew and whoever else is under their umbrella, they start with great equipment and lots of study into what’s making money now, etc... they have a huge advantage and that sucks. RU-vid has changed so damn much. Makes me sad sometimes. Like I’m glad for some change and growth but I miss the old school RU-vid. Oh well, not like my one view and my little opinion means jack in the grand scheme of it all anyways. Lol. And I’m on RU-vid every single day for several hours. Lol

.In short....We dont care because we dont create a parasocial relationship with a damn content creator. We just take what they put out like a glass of water. Nobody actually cares this much and you shouldn't either lol. As for the long version...to elaborate, this fantasy that "she's a nice quiet well mannered and spoken person who makes unbiased views on drama" is a persona we made of her despite her never claiming or saying otherwise in her videos. She never advertised herself as such and she never owed it to us to explain her and her team's motivations. It's just a video about drama, there's no need for us to have to dive into whatever plans they may have on the platform or what their goal is. And even if they lied it takes away from nothing at all. Their sources are mostly accurate and their videos are still structured and unbiased. This sense of betrayal comes from what other people are projecting onto her/them despite that they never even developed this type of dynamic with their audience. RU-vid creators arent your friends or family. They're just that. Creators. At the end of the day, unless they're doing something reprehensible, I suggest not getting too "attatched" to who you think they might be over who they actually are.

@@candylide They dont deserve to feel anything. Spill doesn't owe them anything nor needed to be open about who they were the whole time. They said it themselves, they thought it would never matter. Even if they lied it takes away nothing from their content. It follows the same formula and offers the same information. If people are letting this get to them then they need to learn to stop worshipping creators as heroes and just enjoy the content they have to offer.

It's not really a corporation though. They're an animation studio like Frederator, a privately owned company with less than 100 employees, all situated in a single building in a single province/state whereas Nickelodeon would be a corporation, with thousands of employees in muliple countries. The Canadian defenition for a corporation is legally different from America's.

Actually uh I don’t see any problem with corporations pretending to be people. I guess it’s stuff like “you can’t trust anyone on the internet they might not be really content creators”...? But I mean, the channel isn’t a gaming channel or anything I see no problem.. it’s kind of a research type of channel and I think people should’ve half-expected all that researching to be from corporations instead of real people.

I actually doubt they were individually deleted with all the people talking about it, it’s much more likely certain words are blacklisted, which is probably why your comments got caught up in the auto-cleaner. Edit: Ah, nevermind, around 8 mins in he explains how they moderate comments.
