I think the skill trees need more dual choice options where you have to pick from two different abilities (active and/or passive) so that you don't have as much ability bloat. Personally i think hellish rebuke should be a passive fire thorn ability instead of a short buff you basically always keep up or when you use black shield you gain the hellish rebuke effect! Like you said a lot of similar feeling abilities should just be rolled into one or two abilities with passives, like having two or three abilities that give you an absorb shield is unnecessary. Also i feel like the steed of xoroth should work like the paladin steed ability, maybe a lower burst of speed while in combat but longer duration so that you can use the mount in inside dungeons.
The Knight of Xoroth looks really cool, but yes there seems to be too many buttons associated with it. Hopefully the Cultist or the Son of Arugal aren't like that. Those are the two I'm most looking forward for. - Artogand (Archimonde)
When you get leveled up, the hellfire spec is basically just spamming infernal strike and flames of xoroth at 10 deathfire. It’s very talent dependent, but when it comes online boy does it ever. The other buttons are much more situational. Like I need rage press that one. I need a slow, press that one. But then you go back to infernal striking.
@@reduct_ hey, at least it's still some decent flavor for the class if literally nothing else. Though it does seem pretty useful even in the current state for certain scenarios. Can't complain about having a drive-by kit built into the class, especially for wpvp.
Nice too give us lore on this Class , i normally rather stick with "Light Characters" too bad they didn't make a "Cleric Ranger" that be awesome too have a Range bow guy who can heal 😅
Good coverage, as usual! I'm leveling a Godblade Cultist right now as a 2h DPS, but I'm also very interested in the healing spec as well - "dark" healers have always been very appealing to me, and the thematics of channeling the various Old Gods is top notch. It's like they took retail Shadow Priest, made it its own class, and expanded upon that with a "Dark Paladin" kind of theme. It's really cool. I will express a bit of disappointment that they're making Knight of Xoroth yet another 1h+shield tanking spec instead of going with the 2H Parry option. I'm not entirely sure what other classes are also sword+board tanks, but it definitely feels like a bit of wasted potential in my opinion. I guess it just feels kind of odd to have a Rider of the Apocalypse type class using a shield, but I could just be too used to Death Knights, haha.
Also agree that a lot of classes need their shit pared down hard. Like I mentioned in a previous comment, Riftblade Runemaster feels like such ass to use because there's just so much going on with it when you could really just cut or combine a lot of the buttons it has. Not even mentioning the mechanics feel really clunky and awkward to play around. Like, you have two buttons that basically just do the same thing except one has an additional elemental effect, and then your ability that applies Essences (y'know, the primary resource you generate for your big-hitting spells) is on a cooldown for some fucking reason. And on TOP of that, you have to rely on the RNG of another spell to get the most out of some of your Essence spells. It's a convoluted mess when they could have literally just copied Invoker from Dota 2 or Ninja from FFXIV or something. I'm all for having a unique take on things, but when it comes at the cost of making a spec unfun to play, I think it's time to rethink your methods a bit.
those poor boars T-T they're tryin there best to be test dummies like the ones inside, had to redownload and get into league 4 to get in on this giveaway -gortic
"People are going to choose the on use effects first" This is not entirely true. Button bloat is a thing and even if perfect play dictates taking 10+ buttons to press, players will go the path of least resistance and if a class only has 5-6 buttons and pulls say no more than 5% less DPS, they will go that route - Viertis
You're also forced to pick them though to move further down the tree, but I just meant (since you're forced) you'd pick the abilities that do something before the ones that just give 2% crit. But again youre picking the on use ones anyway atm
The Knight of Xoroth looks amazing! I think this would be the class to play for me as soon as i start playing CoA, either this or the Ranger class -Sunarrow
The problem with most tanking specs is that they're boring. While there is SOME bloat as you say, I think they should be careful not to make it too simple. There's nothing worse than having to slog through a couple of levels before the "build gets fun / good". The class looks hella cool, btw.
I don't have the solution, but tanking needs something new and interesting. Doing damage when hit and healing when mitigating is like, all they have it feels like, and it's all passive and boring, doing a basic rotation and tapping a few survivability cooldowns as needed just isn't very engaging nowadays.
Wow, CoA actually looks fun to play, and it is not just 21 classes times 3 specs, but even the specs themselves look like they have fair amount of customization
I've been doing the true survival challenge. One life with hunger and thirst counters. It's been oddly satisfying to play a Tauren barbarian and have to live off the land. IGN- Brahnee
2 years has passed... I've submitted so many comment's, but to no affair... I've think I'm losing it.... Being a fan of the Macdoubles, but fot what?!.. GRAGHR!!!.. *throws a chair, standing by* GOD DAMNT IT!!!! Is It so complicated to get an award!??!?!. I've battled you so many times.... I've almost undestood your nature.... Send stuff: Diustavraxd
I believe you are hyped about what you talk about, but I question two things. Your understanding in big picture of what you see and is available and the things you get hyped about. I feel like you're easily hyped by mediocre things and it makes your credibility low to me. Someone who has really high standards getting hyped about anything is more reliable.
Really love your videos. waiting for more CoA Love to see it :) FInally subscripted after 4 months of watching you :) Thanks for the Entertainment! Archimonde - Donwaz
Oh wow, you missed some key talents for hellfire. There’s 6 more deathfire available. There’s also one that makes infernal strike generate deathfire. In mid forties you can crit with blade of xoroth and flames for 6k and you can build 10 stacks between cooldowns of flames of xoroth if you’re lucky. It’s stupid strong. Edit: love your videos! Keep ‘em coming
KoX is a nice class and I do Not think that you over hype things up. I really enjoy CoA at the moment but I also think that the time runs. The CoA Team should use the actual player base for Feedback, Updates, Changes etc. Before the server dies again like it did before. If you Pick this comment, I allready have CoA so pls pass it away. :D
I saw your og shammy video and was thinking... What about a OG classes but with free pick talents season... Would that solve some mana problems that ele shammy have? Would that make 2H enh viable?? -Ashldr
I enjoy your content but I don’t agree at all with your constant harping on ability bloat. I feel like wow was ruined after the massive pruning after MoP and especially in Legion. If you think having more then 6 abilities is too much you should probably switch to mobas. I don’t want to play a character for a long time in a mmo that has no in combat variety and depth. But yeah that’s obviously subjective. Just wanted to say that there are people that enjoy having a lot of abilities and variety / depth and not a boring a f 5 button super simple spec.
I think wow should have 4 main abilities, 2 aoe abilities, 2 utility abilities and 2 defensives for each dps/tank class. Utility would include interupt/purge/cleanse as one ability and movement as a 2nd one. With all classes having the same "types" of abilities it would make playing alts easier and setting up keybinds between alts work better. Honestly wow has ability bloat like crazy. I am ok with there being "other" abilities that are not intended to be used in combat like summon stone or mark of the wild.
The knight seems pretty op idk maybe just me but God these videos make me want to play more and more wish it wasn't locked behind paying... Love the vids keep them up----- chaossong
Talent trees need a lot of work overall. More passives and replace abilities things. Also needs to avoid any talents that require talents from another tree. Both trees can modify a baseline ability. Might be more interesting if the Warsteed was a movement ability. - Oak
KoX is how ive imagined a death knight of the first generation would fight like. The dead orc warlocks that gul'dan shoved into the corpses of a bunch of stormwind knights.
All the coverage of the new talent trees has got me so excited to play that I finally got off my arse and downloaded Ascension. Can't wait for CoA to open so I can live my best Reaper life. - Valkeiran
Looks like it has a lot if potential. The mounted combat is a great idea, but i dont think would translate well into dungeons, raids and definitely not in pvp. Way to hard to balance. - Sabbath
One word for the bloat in some of these classes: Consolidation. Don't necessarily remove anything or effects just consolidate and combine a lot of them into abilities or passives.
Maybe they could focus on the 2h parry tank instead of the generic sword and board tank. It would seem fitting considering this class is essentially a fiery DK. - Zargnos
just a question, how do you know if you have aggro or not. theres no nameplates. you say in the video that you loose aggro. is it just when other start dieing? the obvious you dont have aggro. or is there some secret without nameplates on that you know you dont have aggro on something?
Mounted Combat seems like a headchet to balance thou, I know that a some point blizzard tried to implement that in the paladin class, and end up with a "sprint like ability" that they got today - Hatum
Agreed change half of the abilities to passives that augment one of the core abilities or are procced by those core abilities. Like imps could be a passive that your builder can proc when hellgate is active.
im really really hype for this to fully come out! i cant wait to try all of the diffrent classes with pet mecanics since ima summoner/pet user at heart! my name on the leauge 4 server is Carblo
Another great thing that belongs to the game is the fight from the saddle of a horse. Keep going 😁 and again if I happen to be lucky Wiliemdemon in the game 😊
Love these videos, I think a common thing about all of these classes is that there is a lot of ability bloat through talents. I think more of the talents need to give varying ways of empowering and playing the spec. This class and reaper and cultist are a strong example of that! Would love to see you doing a reaper video, having a lot of fun on it! Sleepygary - archimonde
I would still prefer to play something classless but I'd like to see a more streamlined skill based progression system revolved around the classes.. You start with "no class" just like now and as you pick up stuff and use it, you get better at it, and this unlocks your abilities as you raise your skills.. You pick up a spellbook and spells in the world, you cast magic you earn magery and unlock mage abilities as you raise your skill.. You use a skill and you get better at it. In Ultima Online you get 700.0 skill points, that doesn't necessarily mean you are gonna bring 7 skills to 100.0 which is the max on a single skill, but you CAN do that if you want to, you have other certain skills like Evaluating Intelligence and Meditation are 100% needed on a Mage.. Evaluating Intelligence increases the damage of spell, meditation increases your mana and mana regeneration.. Magery allows you to cast higher level spells, spells can be crafted with inscription or bought from player vendors or found in the open world on monsters and you drop the spell (scroll) into your spellbook, with the way it is setup prevents players from becoming a "tank mage." you can also create a character and max out skill points on crafting and have 7 crafting skills at 100.0 without any combat skills.. You can actually explore the world of Ultima Online though without being attacked by bears and wolves.. You can also set skills to lock in place (so they no longer raise) and you can set skills to lower and do like a sea-saw if you change your mind.. Your stats also govern your skills.. (Strength, Intelligence etc..) mining for example, is gonna give you strength, casting spells is gonna give you intelligence, there's a cap on that as well.. If they were to go this route we could even discuss getting rid of character levels..
Not gonna lie this class looks sick even with the bloat. I would LOVE if they give you the option to go red skin orc and red skin drenai for it... that would 100% sell me on playing this class for sure. Loving these videos man. Thank you for sticking to it for us. - Saraphen
I'm looking at it from the outside so I obviously don't have a hands on like you but, what if they focused on 2h parry tank instead? I love the idea of it and having a spec focused on it instead of a cobbled together ascension class would be awesome imo. I am unsure exactly on the number of shield tanks vs 2h tanks among the COA classes though. I imagine it would make more sense to go shield if there are already too many 2h tanks among the other classes but again I don't have that access myself lol.
